Long shot here because I know you may not read this but if you do .... I have a 1965 Piper Cherokee PA-28-180C ... I would love to know if you have a poh or any information on cruise performance or would you happen to have a cruise performance chart. For my year my poh didn't have any real cruise performance chart with pressure altitude, rpm, gph etc . Any help would be amazing. Thank you. Been following you on UA-cam since day 1 with lil red . We had the same paint scheme
You had a large influence on my youngest daughter getting her license! She loves your channel and her dad enjoys it also!
Woah ! Love them twin prop babies !
First of all, I'm glad you're feeling better (at least it seems that way). Thanks for bringing me along on the flight. I love flying with you (even if it's only in cyber space). When I started following you, I didn't understand a lot of the banter on the radio, but now I do. Please keep doing what you do.
Join us nerds on MFS2020/24...sim flying is fun like watching Kay! You can get the sim version of her twin too
Thanks!
Wow Lance, starting this video off right! lol - Thank you so much.
Wow! All the factors taken into consideration for fuel consumption. You were highlighted on another channel for all of the things you do right (about 8 mos ago)... and don't take anything for granted, Thanks for sharing.
I watched a Pilot Debrief the other day, which focused on Kay's excellent skill set. If you can meet his high standards, you know you're a great pilot.
You're ready for that King Air!
Anytime I find myself looking at a flight plan anywhere near my maximum fuel limits, I find it advantageous to take a quick stop. If you have passengers, they'll certainly appreciate the break in the action.
Great flight. I am proud of your ability on the radio. I don't know how you manage to hear your directions and keep up with it all, but I'm sure practice is helping. Good job, Kay. I am thankful that you always put safety first, and don't get over confident.
I was thinking the same thing on the radio and multi tasking. She's a born Pilot!!
Thank you! I've had lots of practice so it's pretty easy now. :)
what you learn after a little bit is as the pilot you are expecting one of a few responses, in other words you get back canned responses. Your "N" number becomes you name and your ears perk up when you hear it, just like somebody calling your name in a crowded area.
Kay I'm an old man that just enjoys watching your videos I'm not a pilot I'm not anybody special you used to let us watch you all the way up till you park the airplane through the traffic I kind of enjoy that.
Yep, I like to think of it as “landing afterglow”. Many others do it. I don’t know why she doesn’t.
You know when she had (Little Red) you would see her from the time she got in the airplane and yelled clear until she parked the airplane I enjoyed that I miss it LOL
To me, the flight isn't over until you shut the engines off and open the door!!!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😳
Remember Kay the only reason we're picking on you is because we love you everybody's a Critic
I'm actually surprised that with today's advanced technology that all radio call outs are not automatically typed on a screen so that the pilot has ATC directions readily available to read if they get distracted. ATC communications are so rapid fire and garbled at times with so many sets of numbers that I'm amazed that there are not more accidents.
Talk and type is unfortunately not reliable enough for that. I’d rather repeat it wrong and be corrected.
You play too many video games.😅
I was thinking it was a manpower thing
CPDLC, we use it every day.
Ummmm….. what?
I ❤ how you are conservative with your fuel and very proactive communication about it with the towers! Very smart!
On one of your trips, try Pearland Regional Airport on the south side of Houston. It is 2 miles to Friendswood, Tx and has a nice Mexican food place close to the airport ( walking distance) . Be careful as there are student pilots in the pattern. I keep my 340A hangered there.
Glad you stopped by Albuquerque. I live in the area. Fun to see it from your point of view. Stay safe.
wow! that was a close call on the fuel. No room for error toward the end. Great job!
Thank you so much!!!
You should add a CPDLC module to your avionics! That's going to become mandatory in a few years for domestic flying...You'll be able to toss the kneeboard once and for all too!
Absolute perfect landing! Very nice flying ❤
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Another perfect landing, great job Kay!!!
When the plane crash with a Piper happened the other day, someone tagged you. I freaked out but remembered "484 Hotel Papa" from listening and could tell it wasn't you.. Fly safe!! 🥰 🛩️
I thought the exact same thing I freaked out a little bit. First thing I did was look for the tail number.
Different aircraft types, she is flying a Piper Seneca III while the plane that crashed was a Piper Navajo...
Great flight. I like how you edited this flight. Having flown this route a couple of times, the boring landscape you edited is like a straight highway. I tended to get a little sleepy. Great landing. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Absolutely loved watching this whole flight. Loved how Albuquerque traffic was worried about you and the other target who he couldn't contact .For him it was be ahead of the game. Both of you were! Thoroughly enjoyed listening to just you explaining how everything worked. Flight management. Then on your inbound to landing again air traffic control worked well with you and you worked well with them! They love how respectful you are and they seem to very much show that in their help and response. Totally enjoyed this..
Yay I’m so glad!! Thank you for the kind words🥰
You're kickin butt!! Awesome flying and landing. Love to see the great skills at play. Love the channel. Awesome
@Tele-gra_FlywithKay0 not working.
I think the hardest thing for me to get my head wrapped around is the airplane is 45-years old! 99% of people don't have cars this old. However, I learned to fly in 1979, and remember when the Seneca III came out. I've flown the Seneca I and II. Very forgiving and easy airplanes to fly, even if the ones I flew were pretty long in the tooth! I flew them in a Part 135 cargo company...5-days/night per week in all kinds of weather!
The counter rotating props are a huge bonus as that eliminates the critical engine. Twins are always more dangerous than single engine aircraft for that very reason...
Its such a baron landscape but also so beautiful at the same time! Nice flight!
For sure
I watched this video and noticed ONE sixteen second block of time where you were NOT talking! 🤣🤣🤣
I love this aviation channel so much! ❤❤❤
Thanks James! Nice to hear from you! :)
Totally addicted to your channel. Love seeing you flying with Pops too!!!!
Always fun to watch when you fly in/out of KABQ with all of the familiar ATC voices, and recognizing the local aircraft/people on the radio. Yes, if you're over on the GA side there isn't much of Charlie that gets used. The number of times I've said to myself entering taxiway Charlieeand leaving taxiway Charlie. This was obviously a few months back as we are sure missing RWY 8-26 these days until...., fingers crossed, May.
You can get your automation to join the airway off of radar vectors by using the OBS to set the inbound track to the first point and then arming NAV, whether using GPS or VOR. Some people load more of the airway so they an intersecting a leg of their flight plan, but it's a better habit to use OBS because it's not uncommon on a departure to be asked to intersect and track a radial to a fix that may not be on a victor airway.
My basic instructor expected excellence, and no less. That included clear, precise standard radio communications. Back then, due to radio technology and modulation, it was very helpful to avoid monotone speech in favor of a more sing-song voice. It's still important, but today's radios are better. Many jokes were made about pilots and their radio voices, but it was essential. A friend & controller at busy NOLA Lakefront responded when I asked how I was doing on the radio, and he responded, "Sounds like Lufthansa coming in." Lol! Me and my "Learner's Permit" & a new 152....
Thought the longer version is better Thanks for sharing your experience Thumbs up 👍
Rising warm air is why your bumpy below the clouds that’s what the glider’s are counting on . Good job beautiful plane 👍🇺🇸
I can see now that using the radio while flying requires a certain level of assertiveness. I know ATC is there to help, but I’d probably be like, ‘Yeah, sure, I’ll do whatever you say.’
This is an important lesson: be helpful, but always prioritize safety.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but gosh, I love all the details you point out-like staying within glide distance of the runway when fuel is a factor.
Great video as always! 👍
Loved the continuity putting on the seat belt. Amazing what I notice 😂 very professional flight, well done Kay.
Enjoy your flights. Today’s flight you flew over my childhood area between the Manzano mountains and Corona. It was nice to see an overhead view.
What? Houston, clouds. No kidding. In Pasadena.
Piper twins 👍 only a few of us on UA-cam. Your Seneca is great! Stay safe.
I love all of the videos you post. This one was especially fun with the ATC calls and cares for your safety. And I gotta tell you, the sound tracks of this video is awesome!! Fly safe and stick around so we can take more flights with you! And I still wanna want to buy you, Pops , and your Mom lunch at BLX. Merry Christmas.
Just watched the startup and it occured to me, this would be a perfect aircraft to install Chevy 5.3L V-8 engines when it's time for a rebuild.
Master of thumbnails.
You need bigger decals for those engines and Fly with Kay decals like Lil Red had as well! Advertise! You talked about speed mods, what might they be? Can you add winglets for the tips if they would be worth the additional fuel savings? I know you're not the tech Wizz but maybe dad can answer? Love how you're showing us the ability to ask for flight level deviations during the flight. It's nice to know as others advance in their licenses.
The airplane now has bigger decals on it. Still haven't decided about FWK stickers. Stay tuned.
I love the decision you made to tell ATC you weren't willing to go up to 7,000. As someone who started getting his private pilot's license (and had to stop due to covid and never got back into it), it's nice to see how you handle various situations. Great video as always.
I’m so happy you’ve been enjoying the channel! Are you planning to continue getting your license??
@ Oh absolutely. The problem was just timing. After covid, the kids went to college, so the funds had to go there. One is already done (but might go for her masters) and one is finishing up. Sometimes, our dreams take a backseat to our kids.
Nice Vid. Good Fuel management, good Music, thanx for sharing.😃
Always fun to see you fly to or over my hometown - College Station. Great flight even through the clouds.
Your Pandora looks so pretty on you! ❤
Thanks!! I love my Pandora bracelets!
Nice flight and great touchdown. Been there done that on the close fuel. LOL Happy all is good.
You passed my home base off your right wing on departure out of ABQ....Mid Valley Airpark...E98! Safe travels, Kay.
Very cool!! Fly safe!!
Kay, I have a question: with that GoPro mounted on your tail tie-down eye hook, can you see that camera feed in the cockpit of the gear up and down on your GoPro app on your phone? That would be kind of cool to have that extra eye of your gear on your phone if you have the app up on your phone during gear transition.
Really enjoyed this last 45 minutes of my life. Kay, you are a joy to follow, would love to fly with you anytime. Thanks for a great video.
May the sky daddy always protect you, love your videos ❤️
Whew _ i can lay off my fingernails now// lol Great flight > your one of the few people that i would ever fly with. Last time i flew was in 1974 Back to Texas from Fla DC 3 in a grass field to Atlanta Ga then jet to Beaumont Texas :)
Hi Kay I enjoy your videos. As much as you fly you need to install a JPI fuel flow scanner system. Aircraft fuel gauges are notorious for their inaccurate readings. My advice would be to never let your tanks get below 1/4 tank until you can afford a JPI or equivalent. As they say: there are old pilots and bold pilots but no old bold pilots. Keep up the great vids!👩✈️
Not bad advice, but keep in mind that if you fill the tanks, you know exactly how much fuel you have, 98 gallons or so. Starting with that, as long as you monitor the fuel burn, math will prevent you from running out of fuel, no matter what the gauges say...
31:35 Yes I caught that. Little Red's call sign/numbers. LOL
That's ok, sometimes I call my dog Yukon. His name is Alyeska. Yukon died Dec. 23, 1991. But they do look similar. My avatar picture is Yukon.
You flew near Corona! That means you flew very near me to get there. Awesome!
I grew up in Vero Beach and I made that plane. That year (I’m going by the paint scheme and the one piece windshield) I might have made the fiberglass nose or made the original wind screen. I worked in 20 departments so it’s hard to remember.
I flew a Seneca two once from a local company at vero and found it had a sloppy elevator.
Make sure to keep the elevator cable tension to spec. It’s got +2.5lbs -0 tolerance if I remember.
Kay you are a flying fox!
Nice and smooth kay 😊
WOW BRILLIANT..... GREAT decisions from you ... Air Traffic just said go for it... Joy Joy Joy
Love watching u fly beautiful pilot kay 😊
Kay what a awesome job your one pilot i would fly with total respect to you from ur Canadian fan . You would make a great bush pilot up here . Look at you bring it down in that wind wow !!!
Watch your speed! No speeding, young Lady! 😂
Love the pics, if you look good enjoy it. Love your vids Tp
Take Care. My friend. 🎉🎉
Good morning from Minnesota! Great episode!
I enjoyed this. Thanks!
Nice landing! WOW
Always fantastic to see you flying enjoy your video’s merry Christmas my friend and happy new year
I am very impressed with your flying!
Awe thank you!!
Love the flights.
Happy New Year Kay hope 2025 is a great Year for you 😊😊
43 min video, I said yep let's go girl, SOOO worth the watch! V-Nice landing BTW Chirp-chirp... lovely!
@Kay great channel I don’t comment much but could you do a Night Departure/Landing and probably with a Voice Over explain the Lights at airports for us non-pilots probably not confusing but for those who don’t understand them seems like a confusing mess of different color lights. 😱
Great video as always! Keep up the great work!!
Love watching your videos, Kay. Very entertaining.
Love you flying through the clouds. Cameras are awes😢ome
Well thank you!
Another great vid Kay and MystiK❤
Wonderful job great show keep up the fantastic footage
Great flight video! Kay you are the best.
Here to remind you that you're not just an awesome pilot and creator, but you're also beautiful.
Great awareness on the fuel. You definitely would not want to go further into your reserves especially given unreliable fuel gauge readings.
Your thumbnails are on point 😂
Admire your flying it’s always terrific! Glad you’re very safe at it. Love flying but unfortunately don’t get to do much
nice flight Kay ! thanks enjoyed it!
I think after EVERY long complicated instruction from ATC, after my response, their next transmission to me would be...
"READ BACK INCORRECT!
LAND IMMEDIATELY, PRACTICE RADIO CALLS FOR TWO YEARS, AND TRY IT AGAIN!"
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂
Great views of I25 South!!
Awesome detail
Love watching your very informative videos but watching this video could you tell me while looking from your tail camera it looks like an oil streak to the left of center of belly of your plane? Just to be cautious Thank you for you videos
welcome home
Hello, I’m new to the channel. You landed about a mile and a half from my house! 😃👍
Look at that desert. Obstacles no factor there.
Working that thumbnail
Kay thanks for a video about how use ADM for fuel min and make ATC aware. I had a time ATC cleared an aerobatic plane behind me for takeoff and they asked me if I could take a 30 degree turn at 500AGL i responded negative immediately as student pilot. Ppl feel intimidated by ATC but don’t know how they can inform ATC their request may not be acceptable because your duty as PIC is safe flight and within regs. ATC is your friend if you need priority you can just ask and they can help.
Spectacular fly 🎉
Nice thumbnail..... It gets the clicks for sure.
Watching now, always fun. But there's still a long fluid stain on the under carriage. Otherwise the plane looks great!
I don't see a fluid stain. Two rows of rivets and what looks like an antenna, but that's it.
She still over talks ATC so I don't think she will ever change that.
I trained in a Seneca I with radar and heated windshield. They are very good.
At 5:50, there's a view of the undercarriage. There's been a dirty stain to the left of "antenna " in the center panel. I've noticed it for some time now. Although in the latest video, it looks like it's been partially cleaned. I can sleep now! Yes, great planes
how many hours do you average per month and what is your total hours at the present time...also what are your long range plans as far as commercial pilot?
There was a crash in Arizona a few days ago and I thought of you because it looked like your plane. Thankfully it wasn’t stay say
What did your dad do at MS? Sounds like security …. Can you do a nav for dummies video? Like how to dial in those heading codes and stuff.
Hi Kay, I totally agree with jeffreysimmons. The videos that you post, including this one, are excellent and very interesting. It is great to 'go flying' with you. Also I am very pleased that you seem to have recovered from your recent illness. I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and a brilliant 2025 when it comes.
GREAT VIDEO KAY
Thank you so much!
At 17:25, we couldn't read the numbers. Suggestion - could you make that chart a graphic that you can insert into your videos for a few seconds?
Good morning pasific time LAX !
