Lumbee Tribe Inauguration 2024 - Full Program Video Jan 16 2024

On Tuesday, the Lumbee Tribe of N.C. held the Inauguration Ceremony to welcome in the newly elected Lumbee Tribal Council members. The Honorable Mark Brooks, Lumbee Tribal Supreme Court, administered the oath to seven council members; Graylen Mitchell (District 2), Harold Smith (District 3), Carrington Locklear (District 5), Larry Chavis (District 6), Rudy Locklear (District 7), Chocajuana Oxendine (District 11) and Larry Soles (District 12). The outgoing Tribal Council Members were Speaker Sharon Hunt (District 2), Annie Taylor (District 12), and Richard Jones (District 6). Drowning Creek Drum members and John Oxendine honored the council members with drum and flute honor songs.
