The interesting part about the Heartless appearing in Quadratum is that it could be because of Sora. In KH1 Leon says that the Heartless follow the Keyblade wielder, the Keyblade catches the Heartless's attention.
I don't think they're heartless I think they're what happens when darkness enters quadratum. Look at the way darkside is all transparent where heartless are all shadowy.

My theory is that this game has been in development since around the time KH3 finished. With how Re:Mind's story was just a rerun of some of the base game's bosses, with some minor new stuff going on like the whole Guardians of light versus the Xehanorts, you could infer that Square was using most of their time and resources with beginning development on 4. A big reason for the lengthy development for KH3, besides the engine switch, was Square had to wait a while for input from Disney about what movies they could use, and if what they do with those worlds is good for Disney. If 4 is taking place mostly in Quadratum, there won't have to be so much time waiting for Disney to give approval on whatever Square wants to do. I'm thinking this game could possibly be released in at least 2024.
I think more or less the same. The game has to go through a bunch of phases of pre-production to get into the active development area, and that usually lasts anywhere from a few months to 2 years. So, if they already know what they want, and by early development, they mean active one; we're set to get the game somewhere between 2024 and early-to-mid 2025.
@@motionisdead9796 I can't imagine pre-production for this took very long, since Nomura does seem to have had a huge plan for this new arc since way back before even KH3 released. What throws a wrench in the whole "not having to wait on Disney's approval" part of my theory is the potential At-St foot. An unrelated thought I had was that it would be nice to have all of the Disney properties involved to be directly connected to Quadratum, instead of being separated into worlds. For example, you could seemlessly go from Quadratum to the Forest moon of Endor, but instead of it being on a moon, or whatever, it's just a large forest outside of the city.

That's part of the reason why KH3's game cover artwork depicts Sora and the rest of the cast in Quadratum, and why KH3 felt like it had no care put into it other than being the "necessary stepping stone" -- likely because Nomura was too excited with the prospect of turning the game into Versus XIII in the first place. I also think the whole At-St foot thing could be a silent confirmation that they don't have to wait longer, but I feel like it's moreso that Nomura talked some sense into Disney's bureaucratic approach to make more aware of how lengthy negotiations affect the development cycle of a game in-turn making fans(and I guess the devs) agitated. As for the idea itself, It may be the case if Unreality's World is still connected. The reason why we travel by Gummi Ship to different worlds in KH's reality is cause the World is fragmented due to the Keyblade War. Before that, all of the Disney worlds were on the same plane of existence with the exception of the Realms I think. So that'd definitely be possible. Also, the fact that Sora is now in Quadratum, means that he's in a video game. Cause Verum Rex is a video game in the first place. So he can technically utilize Wreck-It-Ralph as a means to travel to different worlds, just like they did in KHUX.

Actually it’s not the numeral for 4, it actually refers to IV’s which Gamefreak recently disowned and gave to SE. it’s obvious, clearly Sora was battling the neo dark side to weaken it so it could capture it and put it on his new ubers stall team
Important to note too: Part of the reason we got so many side games between KH2 and KH3 was because the main team was working on Versus XIII, and Nomura (and Disney) wanted to keep the series' momentum going, until 3 could start development. Since Osaka team seems to be only focused on KH, it looks like we'll be getting more numbered games more frequently now, with the occasional side game (Verum Rex) just to keep things fresh.
From my understanding KH1 and KH2 were developed by Tokyo team which basically doesn't exist anymore due to what happened with Verus XII, and Osaka have made every KH game since KH2. I hope they retain what they learned from making KH3 and clearly showcased they do have a grasp on good combat design with Re:Mind.
The info that came out after the trailer dropped was that the entire trailer was developed in real time with the UE4 engine, but the game is being dev'd on UE5.
So the Build command is interesting if they do mean "build your keyblade". Bro can you imagine if we can do all of the shit Master Xehanort does with the X-Blade but without being limited by the stupid three arrows that randomly show up? That or you can build-a-bear the keyblade to have different attributes without it being tied to a meter... I'd be more excited for that than Drive Forms returning tbh, as much as I would love for them to return to that too.
Something I thought about was the idea of having different attack styles that change your combo, speed and power depending on what style you use. Like what if you had a power, speed, and magic style that you could switch into to really diversify the combat? I think that'd be cool and new anyway.
That'd be pretty cool considering you can change keyblades mid battle in kh3. It'd be cool to utilize that idea similarly to yours rather than throwing it away entirely
@@thomasvinh9729 no, something more akin to the different sword styles in Ghost of Tsushima. Just having something that affects the actual combos themselves without being an entirely different form. 358/2 Days had a mechanic tied to the keyblades themselves. Different keyblades were better equipped for different situations because of how they changed your combo. I think something like that would be a nice addition without being a full blown form change.
At this point, REmind, melody of memories, and the last arc of union X could be considered side games setting up the lost masters arc. heck maybe dark road too depending on where the story goes.

Shotlocks can work, they just need to not be put in these trash systems. Imagine if you will that the EX bar and Focus were one and the same. Shotlocks are your fire-and-forget; simple yet powerful, but ultimately not as good as the super-modes that nonetheless require the player to be skilled enough to make the most of. Summons would be the last here, relegated to support which is most situational, but as the "difficult to learn, difficult to master" would ultimately be the strongest when used correctly. Of course shotlocks would have their niche even beyond the casual's tool as by their nature they'd be great crowd control, softening initial spawns and mopping up low hp enemies. The final benefit would be purely fluff, as shotlocks are so flashy that they boost the aesthetic power-level of the character. Boss Aqua outclasses Playable Aqua in nigh every aspect, but P-Aqua's Prism Rain is the one way she closes that gap.
He did call shotlocks an uninspired mechanic and hope they were done away with in this video. I dunno if there's some other section you were referring to.

I think that the city itself would be about 60% of the game and most of the extra stuff. I can see and star wars world and a new york for avanger and maybe an 3rd extra would for the rest. I hope they keep the form changes but they work as drive forms.

Ofc it will be mind-blowing but turns out it's not as good as the trailer suggest. Gameplay at least still good and satisfying but the world itself is so boring despite being 10x larger. There should be a second visit dlc (it should be include in the main game but game dev is crazy expensive nowadays so I wouldn't be so surprise if they did make a dlc for it)

The lost master is the MoM. Khux was mostly about setting up the post Xehanort story. Sora rescuing Kairi after the Xehanort fight put him on a collision course with the MoM and im loving how KH looks like it might be getting a little darker in some ways. I still think there will be the fun Disney whatever but I also think the tone of FF and the characters and worlds from it both deserve more presence in the series.
@@harryc657 At the end of KH 3 Sora broke taboo by somehow traveling through time to save kairi. Since he broke taboo he can no longer exist as a consequence. He got dropped in quadratum which seems to be disconnected from the regular Kingdom Hearts reality.
This is what i think will happen in KH4 1. Sora wakes up in quadratum without any memories other than his name and keyblade. Sora will use the name 'Yozora' and during the middle of the game, he will slowly transforming into Yozora, ditching his keyblade (maybe broken or something) with a new sword and bowgun. That's why yozora knows about Sora's name and can steal sora's keyblade during his fight because Sora IS Yozora's past self. - There will be new Disney worlds alright, but this time this disney world will be based on reality: 1. Marvel: The world where humanity lived in chaos because of some disaster happening there, like some kind of What-If scenario. 2. Wall-E: The world in distant future where humanity left the earth because it's no longer suitable to live. 3. Star Wars: The world in distant future where humanity NEVER lived on earth since beginning for some reason. 4. Zootopia: The world where humanity cease to exist and instead their role replaced by intelligent animals. 5. Nier: The world where humanity gone extinct and replace by replicants, robots, and androids. These worlds are another possibilities/timeline of quadratum, or dead-end version of it. Sora will go there not to save them but to DESTROY them or DENIED their existance as those worlds are a threat to quadratum and sora's world possibly. Master of masters sends each forteller to each worlds to summon kingdom hearts there. Master of master plans was to use kingdom hearts to turn Quadratum into real world replacing the old world/KH world. Darkness plans, however, was to move to quadratum and to infected it as well. In the end Sora will face an ultimate decision as the true king.

Important to note too: Part of the reason we got so many side games between KH2 and KH3 was because the main team was working on Versus XIII, and Nomura (and Disney) wanted to keep the series' momentum going, until 3 could start development.
Since Osaka team seems to be only focused on KH, it looks like we'll be getting more numbered games more frequently now, with the occasional side game (Verum Rex) just to keep things fresh.
From my understanding KH1 and KH2 were developed by Tokyo team which basically doesn't exist anymore due to what happened with Verus XII, and Osaka have made every KH game since KH2. I hope they retain what they learned from making KH3 and clearly showcased they do have a grasp on good combat design with Re:Mind.

Something I thought about was the idea of having different attack styles that change your combo, speed and power depending on what style you use. Like what if you had a power, speed, and magic style that you could switch into to really diversify the combat? I think that'd be cool and new anyway.

Just having something that affects the actual combos themselves without being an entirely different form. 358/2 Days had a mechanic tied to the keyblades themselves. Different keyblades were better equipped for different situations because of how they changed your combo. I think something like that would be a nice addition without being a full blown form change.

Shotlocks are your fire-and-forget; simple yet powerful, but ultimately not as good as the super-modes that nonetheless require the player to be skilled enough to make the most of. Summons would be the last here, relegated to support which is most situational, but as the "difficult to learn, difficult to master" would ultimately be the strongest when used correctly. Of course shotlocks would have their niche even beyond the casual's tool as by their nature they'd be great crowd control, softening initial spawns and mopping up low hp enemies. The final benefit would be purely fluff, as shotlocks are so flashy that they boost the aesthetic power-level of the character. Boss Aqua outclasses Playable Aqua in nigh every aspect, but P-Aqua's Prism Rain is the one way she closes that gap.

Ofc it will be mind-blowing but turns out it's not as good as the trailer suggest. Gameplay at least still good and satisfying but the world itself is so boring despite being 10x larger. There should be a second visit dlc (it should be include in the main game but game dev is crazy expensive nowadays so I wouldn't be so surprise if they did make a dlc for it)

The lost master is the MoM. Khux was mostly about setting up the post Xehanort story. Sora rescuing Kairi after the Xehanort fight put him on a collision course with the MoM and im loving how KH looks like it might be getting a little darker in some ways. I still think there will be the fun Disney whatever but I also think the tone of FF and the characters and worlds from it both deserve more presence in the series.

This is what i think will happen in KH4
1. Sora wakes up in quadratum without any memories other than his name and keyblade. Sora will use the name 'Yozora' and during the middle of the game, he will slowly transforming into Yozora, ditching his keyblade (maybe broken or something) with a new sword and bowgun. That's why yozora knows about Sora's name and can steal sora's keyblade during his fight because Sora IS Yozora's past self.
- There will be new Disney worlds alright, but this time this disney world will be based on reality:
1. Marvel: The world where humanity lived in chaos because of some disaster happening there, like some kind of What-If scenario.
2. Wall-E: The world in distant future where humanity left the earth because it's no longer suitable to live.
3. Star Wars: The world in distant future where humanity NEVER lived on earth since beginning for some reason.
4. Zootopia: The world where humanity cease to exist and instead their role replaced by intelligent animals.
5. Nier: The world where humanity gone extinct and replace by replicants, robots, and androids.
These worlds are another possibilities/timeline of quadratum, or dead-end version of it. Sora will go there not to save them but to DESTROY them or DENIED their existance as those worlds are a threat to quadratum and sora's world possibly.
Master of masters sends each forteller to each worlds to summon kingdom hearts there. Master of master plans was to use kingdom hearts to turn Quadratum into real world replacing the old world/KH world. Darkness plans, however, was to move to quadratum and to infected it as well.
In the end Sora will face an ultimate decision as the true king.
So he'll have to choose between being KH or VS13. Well fuck, we all know the choice Nomura has made.
