Yeah buddy! finally you got it! Congrats...I ended it up ordering the Skylux RTT from Torro Off Road in December and after long, crazy delays we just got it too. Shifting a bit within your VORTEX crossbars won't bother you anymore, as we HAD to move ours a bit to the passenger side also, to install (and clear) the Rhino Rack COMPACT awning. It needed clearance for our clamshell hinging on the driver's side. While yours opens straight up, it wont be an issue at all. Rig looks great with the suspension and RTT.
Yeah you can lock the latches. And several companies sell kits with tapered security nuts to bolt it to your rack. It'll slow a thief down but anyone determined could get it off with enough time
Not sure about a basket roof rack but tents use standard mounting equipment. Most Important thing is making sure the rack can handle the weight of the tent and people inside
Oh very good question. I cancelled by subscription so cannot test that for you unfortunately. You could always move the antenna if it was an issue. I believe it's just above the soundbar, under the padding.
I was looking into a Rhino system and the salesperson highly suggested I buy the platform rather than the three bar support. Do you have any more thoughts on which might be better? Does it depend on tent type?
I heard it's a bit more difficult to mount up a tent due to where the slats fall, you might also have to slide it to one side of the platform to hook up the ladder (although I had to as well). You can do more with mounting other accessories to the platform, but that didn't interest me
Oh interesting, where have you read that? Mines great. I do have to say the latch is a bit flimsy, but the straps do most of the work anyways so it doesn't bother me.
Youll have to check on that, it will depend on your tent weight and occupants. the 2 bars wouldn't be able to carry as much weight, as three bars would do a better job to distribute the load
Just Replaced this tent with something New! check it out here

It's a gem! Can't go wrong

Thanks the suspension has been a complete game changer! Happy you're also set up with a tent, must be excited for this camping season!
Aahh you got it, congrats! I watched your video on the backbone roof rack and ended up buying it and an Ikamper as a result. Great vids!!
Right on, how do you like the tent so far?
@@RubiconUnlimited other then noisy when it’s windy I’m loving it! So easy to set up and take down. Yours looks awesome, good luck with it!
You can't beat the convenience! Enjoy this camping season
@@RubiconUnlimited thanks, you too!
What mounting hardware did you use to attach it to your roof.
It comes with mounting hardware
Is there a way you can secure it so no one can open it or steal it. Maybe some sort of locks or bike chain?
Yeah you can lock the latches. And several companies sell kits with tapered security nuts to bolt it to your rack. It'll slow a thief down but anyone determined could get it off with enough time
Wish you'd shown this storage configuration instead of just describing it. I take it it can store only when parked?
Do u need a flat roof rack for most rooftop tents for a jeep? Or are there ones compatible for basket roof racks
Not sure about a basket roof rack but tents use standard mounting equipment. Most Important thing is making sure the rack can handle the weight of the tent and people inside
great video!! do you have issues on the satellite radio signal? Some people have complained of a weak or signal once the rack and tent are installed.

Awesome review! I've read about some quality issues on the roof fabric, the latches, etc. How are things looking for you so far??
Oh interesting, where have you read that? Mines great. I do have to say the latch is a bit flimsy, but the straps do most of the work anyways so it doesn't bother me.
Can you store the latter inside when you're not using it?
That's the beauty of this evolution tent, you can keep your bedding and latter inside!
Great video and very informative video. Just wondering how much weight can your rhino rack hold? maybe put a link for the rack?
I have an install video with information on my channel
@@RubiconUnlimited Thanks 👍

Will a 6' 5" guy fit in this? Thanks
You might juuuuust make the cut
How much?
Hi, thanks for the video, it’s excellent. I see that you have three bars on your racks, mine has two, is it ok for support the tent ?
Youll have to check on that, it will depend on your tent weight and occupants. the 2 bars wouldn't be able to carry as much weight, as three bars would do a better job to distribute the load
@@RubiconUnlimited thank you! I think I will put another bar and stay safe. 👍
@@fofo3ds great idea! Better to do it right and stay safe!
Great review! Are you able to mount kayaks on this?
No mounting on top of the tent unfortunately
@@RubiconUnlimited thank you!!!
No problem!
Careful- just saw the recall. I’ve owned since 2019 and considering refund or go with a softshell
