I'm a FIRM believer; seeing is believing!!! When you write things down and make it visual and start tracking, Oh things get real very fast!! LOL!! It is a true game changer. It forces you to come face to face with your spending and where things can be improved! :-)

Hey girl. I am so sorry to hear this. I'm also so glad you are here because I want you to continually and ALWAYS know that you can do this. I hope my channel is helpful. I've been single for years now, doing it on my own and if I can do it, you definitely can and will! :) Please message me if you need any extra words of encouragement! Wow, Kate, I can't concentrate, I'm practically blown away! (And for once I'm not talking about admiring Mr Hanum behind you!) Look at you in red, wow, it's stunning. True, it's my favourite colour, but it's so striking. Any time you want to be noticed, that's the colour for you, girl! And now, I'll just rewind back to the beginning so I can concentrate properly this time...
Hey Kate !! When you did the goal thing a couple of months ago to save 1000.00...I told you that I finally reached it but it took me longer than your time frame because of unexpected expenses. Anyhow ...I'm here to say ...I didn't stop after I reached that 1000.00 and now am up to 2800.00 !!! The reason I am able to save this amount of money is because I have no bills ...debt free. When I started my journey a couple of years ago, I was not. I'm now able to buy what I want (my needs are small) and it feels so good !!! Once this covid is a thing of the past....I'm going on my long awaited trip !!! You and Debt free Dana (she was there when I had my bills) have inspired me and I just want to say thank you !!
8 months ago I had to start living on one income. Move out and support myself for the first time ever. I really appreciate your videos. They’re so helpful 🙏🏻
I think I need to adopt your habit of updating every dollar every day. I put it off and then dread doing it because it takes a bigger chunk of time to get it done.
I saw a cool video over on Jennifer Cook's channel. She compiled a list of frugal habits shared by her viewers. I thought this was a neat idea. Your channel is my absolute favorite. I would love to hear tips from the K Squad!!! Have a wonderful weekend! 😁

Happy Frugal Friday, KSquad! Great video, Kate (and a rare Mr. Hanum sighting)! Thank you for your constant encouragement. I’m almost at the finish line for my fully funded emergency fund, thanks to my “money map.” Not as much fun as The Goonies, but you will find treasure at the end! 🤣
YASSS!!!!! HAHAHAHH! Finding treasure! I LOVE IT! My Hanum for a whole video IS a rare sighting for sure! You are almost fully funded for your ER fund!?!! YASS! WAY TO GO!
I think it's important to give, even small amounts, because not only does it all add up over time for the charity you're donating it to (as Kate said), but also because it makes you feel tremendous! You feel like you're really starting to get your life sorted out because you have been able to give something to help someone else who is more in need than you are. I guess for me it's about living (and budgeting) according to my values.

I went into EveryDollar to tweak it today and found out that if you hold your finger down on let’s say car payment you can move that up or down. So you can change the order in which they are listed under each category. Which is what I did.The bills paid monthly I want at the top and the ones that are billed qtr or yr I want towards the bottom of each category. I hope that makes sense
Hi Kate! You were actually one of the persons that I looked to for motivation when I was getting out of debt and saving a down payment for my house. So happy I found you about, almost 3 years ago, thank you!:)💞💞
@@KateKaden You have always been my inspiration to start a YT channel, also because I've seen your progress throughout the years, but I was always scared to be public(since I come from an extreme abusive relationship). Great video, let's me know I'm on track and I do know what I'm doing! lol I love that you include giving in your budget, so motivational and really keeps things in perspective.
That is exactly what im doing right now. Im trying to save enough to buy a car with nothing but all cash. So i cant wait till i can walk into the car dealership with exactly what i know what i want to spend n nothing more.
I love your videos Kate! Believe it or not my ex turned me onto your channel. I'm on BS3 right now completing my 3-6 month emergency fund. I currently have a yield in my checking for budgeted items such as property taxes, excise tax (car) registration sticker, registration fee, etc. But having a buffer for 1 month of expenses is a great idea that I will try to implement. I'm currently saving for a new car.
My Zero based budget is about to really come in handy as I am 380.away from joining thr debt free club. The forces that be myst be getting pissed because youtube started suggesting videos calling Dave Ramsey a fool.
You are so lovely, Kate! I'm so happy I found you through Debbie. This is a great video. I'm inspired. I can see I'm going to be binge watching your videos tonight during my mommy bath 😂👍🧡
Okay....it shouldn't take a lot of work as I am so comfortable with the theory, but I need to figure out a grocery budget, set up sinking funds, pantry purge, set up automatic savings and automatic giving, figure out how much 6 months expenses is, save that up, and save up a budget buffer in my current account....lots to do!
I have watched a bunch of your videos over this past several months - love them! Recently going back this far - were you able to save it because you were living with your mom or grandma (can't remember which) so you didn't have a huge rent or mortgage payment?
I do use a budget. I have a "projected" column and an "actual" column. I'm often under budget on certain things but every month is different. Some months have taxes (ugh) and some months have insurance premiums, and dentist appointments, etc. I never spend more than I make so that's a win. When I first started budgeting on paper, it was a real eye-opener. I wish I had started earlier. Also, someone needs to tell college students that credit cards are NOT FREE MONEY.
Hi! Hope you can help. You had a video on your routine to wind down at night. You were in your apartment. I can’t find it now. Do you still have it available?

I have a master spreadsheet for my budget and every month I make a copy and tweek it. Sometimes I even do several months in advance. As interest in savings accounts is close to zero, I use my emergency fund as my buffer so I don’t feel the need to keep so many separate amounts now that it is still building after the last few unexpected expenses. But I “cheat”: when something I budgeted for turns out to be less (like my “allowance” now that cafés are closed or the cleaning lady budget when she cannot come) I keep it separate. My intention is to use that money to indulge on some future “want” that I wouldn’t usually allow myself 😈
