Great build mate full of inspiration and excellent paint work. Only thing id say is Gen Olds Bolo F-4C had no nose IR sensor in place which was widespread in F-4C’s in 1968.
When Fundekals released their sheet on F-4C’s in Bolo a lot of people me included contributed info to it and photos where found direct from Olds daughter and taken on flightline the return showing Olds aircraft on return from the mission missing the dork under the nose.
Keith Ferris did a great painting of Olds going over the top which portrayed his F-4C correctly and recieved significant criticism from the modelling community over it even though it was painted fully with Olds input. Many years later its been proven Olds memory was spot on but then again he had his own images taken with his own camera that has him having a ciggie on the flight line pre mission.
Cheers and thanks for the great build ill link pics below.
PS nice choice of music
Thanks for the gouge mate
@@thescalemodellingcafelooking forward to your MiG-17 build after that Malta Spitfire dual build !!
Fantastic build and excellent inspiration for my next one!
It would be nice in the future to add information such as the paints used and different techniques!
Hi Tom, thanks mate, I'll consider that
Beautiful.
Thanks mate
If your interested in the photo’s they are all included in Fundekals instructions however this one was shot pre launch by his crew chief on his own camera which he used frequently.

I have that set and never noticed!
What a knockout Jamie. How long did all the weathering work take? Well worth the time and effort. 😍
I honestly can't remember mate as I had a long lay off waiting for the markings
@@thescalemodellingcafe No worries. Love the finish you achieved. 👍🏻
Nice one Jamie, easy this modelling lark ain't it? 🤭
Thanks mate. I wouldn't quite describe it like that...! 😁
2-Words, "OUTSTANDING"...
In my hometown we have a local Museum for Brig. General Daniel "Chappie" James Jr. who was Robin Olds "X.O." here in Pensacola Florida, and myself and other fellow modelers have been asked to build some 1/72nd scale models for the Museum's Flight Academy>
I plan on doing an F-4C "Phantom II" (Fine Molds) in these same markings for the Museum and I am also doing "Chappie's" F-4C in 1/48th scale as well using the Zokei Mura kit.
"Thanks" for sharing this with us.
Thanks mate, that sounds like a cool project
Glad to see that you (as me) are using aluminum foil as a mask instead of Tamiya masking tape. Common sense vs. `Tamiya tape genocide` 😇 Kidding-aside, very nice workflow&final result 👍
Thanks mate
Nice! What were the 3 colors, brand of paint for the SEA Camo? thanks
MRP
@thescalemodellingcafe I am too. I find that the medium green doesn't cover well. Did you notice that, or any advice? thanks
Very nice build
Thanks you Michael
that seat mate! amazing work on the OD. I'm up to the same stage on my kit here - did you just mix together different shades of OD or are the upper levels oils?
Thanks mate. The seat was done using acrylics, check out Part 2 of the build series.

Beautiful result Jamie. Underside weathering is especially convincing. Like the format, too.
Thanks Steve
