This man walked into my English class one day back in HS and changed me. I just found out by seeing something on someone’s social media’s page that he transitioned now 8yrs ago. After HS I would run into him on the streets of NYC or at events and always remind him when I saw him how much he impacted me. I am grateful to Louis Reyes Rivera. 🙏🏾❣️🔥🎶
It’s taken me a minute to be able to watch this Mr. Louis Reyes Rivera. You were gone way too soon. Now I have all sorts of questions for you. You are missed. We try to keep your spirit alive with our own rendition of this poem❤
An amazing performance. Begins slow, almost like any other spoken word. But slowly it catches you. With its rhythm, then it's words. And the performer's voice completes the tragic story that it is.
He was too intelligent and gifted for WBAI, so an interim ignoramus Program Director (Bates) fired him and put mediocrity in his place. Louis Reyes Rivera has been missed by people who appreciated him at WBAI-now he will be missed by many more.
