Great review Tim. I've got their larger tent with the garage and can attest that the quality is top notch. I was torn between the model you show here and the larger one. Ended up going the larger route so when I'm camping with my spouse we have the additional space. When it's just me, I use a smaller 2-person REI tent. But I've been very happy with my Lone Rider gear. 👍🏼
This is an excellent review Tim. I can honestly say that I agree with you 100% on all of your ratings you gave the tent. I had bought this tent early last winter and later saw your review. After watching your video the first time I thought I would wait to add my comment(s) until I had tried mine out over the summer to verify and give my honestly comment too. After a 27 day across Canada moto camping tent tour I can say I am very happy with my purchase. Yes it weighs more than a lot of 2 person tents (compared to some it weighs twice as much) and the pack size is on the larger side, but there is nothing like space, comfort, easy of changing, space to get all of your gear out of the elements, and the security of knowing the tent will not fall apart in extreme weather which I experienced a few times.
I never owned the copper spur, I borrowed it for that review. The big difference is durability, the copper spur is a little sensitive as with most ultralight tents.
Out of curiosity- anyone tried this in a hot climate? I’m curious as dark colours heat up faster then light colours.. is the ventilation good enough to compensate? And it looks pretty dingy in there…
Curious about the poles, I think at one point in another video you may have said you pack poles separate. What is the length of the poles when broken down. I’ve had issues with tent poles being too long to fit in panniers or topcase. I like to keep everything packed inside hardcases if I can to avoid disappearing gear at lunch and stops when I leave the bike alone.
These tents are made to fit most panniers, not sure the exact length but it fits in my Mosko bags up and down and side to side, although side to side is a little tight.
@@FTAAdventures Yes unfortunately it is, been looking for a bike tent, and the security mesh pocket good idea though is extra again. Guess a cheaper tentr will have to do, and the change goes into doing some mods on the Bike. Thanks for the review.
Great review… your the guy whose Moto advice is solid, and insightful. Any piece of gear you like, has real life/utility and functionality. Thanks Tim!
Thanks for the review Tim. I had this tent on my radar but the manufacturer really sort of undersold it so I gave it a pass because of its price point. I may need to reconsider my options next time around. Great review…. See you out there sometime…Ride safe!!!!
Present tents: When someone gifts you a tent. Passed tents: Other campers' problems. Future tents: Two tents to think about right now. Did you say steak?
I have yet to see a motorcycle channel review a large tent. I live off by bike, so my tent is my home. I couldn't live in a tent that small. I have about 200 sq ft of living space and the roof is around 7ft. I can fit all my stuff and my motorcycle in it.
Hello there Tim, it is a very very good tent! But not my favorite! I got the other one from different brand name! And I did 3 years all over the world. Easier set up in my book. Just my 2 cents! Nice to have you back. Cheers
Tim, do you have any wind issues with the outer tent off the ground. I would think the wind or the cold would get between the layers affecting the inside temperature.
I can't wrap my head around the $400 price tag. You say that's good value, but in Canada that's over $700 before this thing gets to my door. The tent I use now for motocamping has been serving me well, packs up smaller and only cost $45. I'm sure this is a very nice tent, no doubt, but it was free for you. If you actually paid for this, you might wonder if it was too much.
Been thinking about this tent for awhile, was waiting for your long term review. Thanks Tim for the review. One question for you, if you had a choice of this or the one with motorcycle garage. Which one would you choose?
@@stephenaz-moto3655 Yes, I agree. I'm traveling for at least a couple of years, usually staying a couple of weeks each location. I would get a small tent if it were a weekend trip.
Such reviews can be beneficial and these small tents are quite useful for a few day adventure. But for my 2+ year adventure, I need a larger tent. I am usually a skeptic and untrusting by nature and assumed Tim was making money on these reviews but was informed that he wasn't. That is admirable. I stand corrected.
If you don’t agree, thats one thing but your criticism of Tim is totally un-warranted. He has reviewed many items and he is not a salesman, just seasoned moto camper. Keep personal attacks off the page.
I don’t get paid for these reviews, they gifted me a tent a year ago and I’m still using it. If I didn’t like it I have no problem sending things back. Also I don’t delete comments so I’m not sure what you’re talking about there. I appreciate the constructive criticism but it’s not accurate.
@@navstar52 I said I do not trust the reviews of someone that censors information that is not favorable to their review. Maybe I should have kept it there and not took it a step further and said it looks like this guy is only out for the money, because that sounds like a personal attack. So yes, I might have been too harsh. I don't watch his channel for reviews anyway, but because he has an abundance of valuable experience and he is the sort of person whose general advice deserves credibility and respect, a position many can't achieve.

Straight forward, no BS, just like all of your reviews. Well done, Tim!
A review after a year of ownership, that is the way to do an honest review!
Great review and I agree on all points. I brought this tent during the holiday sales. Only got to use it once so far but no complaints.
Tim, I appreciate you start out the review with the price.Nothing ticks me off more than a glowing review then comes the price.

Awsome Tim. Thank you for another Great honest review video.
I have their MotoTent and I love it.
Good review. Thanks for this.
From Oz. Thanks for the tent review.👍
Great review. I appreciate the honesty.
Thanks Tim
How would you rate it against the big Agnes copper spur(I think you have had that one). Great video.
I never owned the copper spur, I borrowed it for that review. The big difference is durability, the copper spur is a little sensitive as with most ultralight tents.
Great review!! thanks Tim!
Very close to buying this tent or their larger one. Can't pick!
Could you put a back pack cot inside such as a Helinox cot one...or is the tent too small for this ?
Yes you can fit a helinox cot

$600 in Australia for this tent?? very reluctant to buy.
That’s a bit steep

Did you say steak?
Liveable space. How about the 1mtr height will be fairly restricting, particularly when dressing up.
Rookie question, do you have to leave space between the tent and the fly or can it go right on top of tent?
Just ordered mine Tim thanks to your excellent bullet point review. Ride on bruddah!

No issues with that. The inside walls go up pretty high.

Get a tent you can park your bike in. Why not, because a lot of big tents are as easy to assemble as the smaller ones.
