The kids today will never understand or appreciate the way the world was then. People cared about their neighbors, weren't buried in their phones, were loyal, and didn't show love just for the sake of one upping someone else on social media.
I was born in 81’ and I had a dysfunctional home life but it was still a great childhood! Stayed outside from morning til night. Played “Kick the Bottle” and drank from the water hose. Laid in the grass with the dogs and made mud pies. Rode our bikes all day long. Ate good food too at grandmas! We respected our elders and loved one another. We were also much more active back then! I feel sorry for my children because the internet is their everything. It’s my own fault but I had no clue what damage it could do when I handed them PlayStations and iPhones. I was the last person in our immediate family of five to get a smart phone or Facebook. When I did, my friends said, “Welcome to the 21st Century”. I used to spend a lot more time with my husband and children before I had an iPhone. I wish I had never picked up one of these dang things and I wish just as much I could’ve seen what effect technology would have on my kids. Do you have kids? What does a parent do when they’ve allowed their kids to have phones and social media so young but 10-13-19 years later they see the negative impact? I feel like I can’t take their stuff away now but I REALLY need to! I feel like it could cause more harm than good at this point to take their electronics. My older two kids understand my concerns and my 13 yr old would respectfully accept my decision to not let her have smartphones or social media. She’s a great child. In today's heavy handed recording industry, "inspiration" isn't the option it once was. Unlike the "outlaw" days when rebels like Roger Miller, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Tompall Glaser and David Allen Coe would stand up to the "suits of Nashville," today's performers no longer enjoy such leverage. They play what they're told to play, in some cases even at live concerts. One explanation for such artistic servitude-- their own talent agents have a nasty habit of climbing in the sack with the industry's corporate executives, engaging in quid-pro-quo arrangements of benefit to everyone except the baby-faced singer. Artists like Charlie and Bruce Robison Brothers, Nancy Griffith and other great South Texas talents all seem to flourish independently, but "independence" comes at a price. Not that it matters to me; I could listen to them all day on UA-cam. But none of them ever seem to ascend to the status of household names as "performers." An exception would be Ms. Griffith, but only as a composer. Her collaborations on "From A Distance" and "Love At The Five & Dime" helped to put her on the map as a song writer. Otherwise their notoriety is pretty much limited to a regional market, a not so appetizing prospect for today's starry eyed up and comers who would rather sell their souls for super-stardom.
If you pay attention to today's lyrics, they are very much the same...only thing is, recording labels want to reach the younger generation. Which we all know that they are NOT into old songs...therefore they add background "junk" and hip hop beats
I think that this man was definitely one of a kind. His music is really great. I think that even though he is gone his music and his memories will live on forever

You are blessed and have a good woman. Not too many out there these days who's in it for the long haul.
Your wife sounds like me. I love my husband but like Earl says she hates how she loves me sometimes. I do at times but I wouldn't trade my husband for nothing. Just wish he would quit getting so mad at every little thing. I know I thought of leaving but I'm not that type I just keep hanging on when anyone else would have. I just now learn how to go along when he doesn't give in.
@@libbysmith6731 Don't waste your life Libby - you deserve so much better.

God bless you, Libby. You won't regret it. Jesus can work miracles in our lives and change people. Hang in there and pray. 🙏🥰💐
How good is this video? She is watching her man with a faith knowing he will find a way. How good is that?
Only a few of us have the pleasure and richness of a True Lady's Love! Money can't buy that!
Killer
@@williamcreel624 Yup and people Drop your Precious Addictive Smart Phones because You Are Killing your children and beyond.
@@HighSpeedNoDrag You’re right! I feel these smart phones and other internet m/electronic devices are ruining families altogether. Not just our children but our marriage ma as well!
Yes, this video perfectly fit the song.
I've been listening to this song , since it came out. Never hit me till now how good my wife is! I don't do near as much right as I do wrong! But she stays with me! Love you Honey
Geez I wake up in my truck the next day and everyone freaks out saying I need rehab when all I really needed was to just fix my bike, but really this is just timeless I’ve been listening to etc me whole life from a young kid to 40’s and will continue this new stuff just don’t hit like this older stuff
“Fire and Smoke” album, it’s a must.
He had one of those amazingly unique and beautiful voices. He didn’t get the recognition he surely deserved.
RIP Earl, You have always been and will continue to be part of the soundtrack of my life.
He had a string of hits about 2 miles long!
@@glenbeck5602 He was popular at the time, for sure. I think Mona means "He doesn't get the credit he deserves." (Present tense.)
Love this song ❤

RIP ETC. A true legend. Hall of fame worthy. But more just one of the all time greats of country music
Hi Erica, how are you doing today
You're going to be so missed 😭 Another Country Legend gone... 💔
Hi Anne, how are you doing
Sure wish my ol lady would watch this.
80's country music was something else.
why can't the country artist of today, find inspiration from artist like this.
Yes ronnie, georgejones and straight, the good old legends
they are told to make hick hop country to help brainwash the masses for the media
These artist were honest storytellers..
If you pay attention to today's lyrics, they are very much the same...only thing is, recording labels want to reach the younger generation. Which we all know that they are NOT into old songs...therefore they add background "junk" and hip hop beats
Unfortunately we will never have real country music like this played on the air again
No cause today's music doesn't have the same feelings
I think that this man was definitely one of a kind. His music is really great. I think that even though he is gone his music and his memories will live on forever
Hi Shawn, how are you
