Almost sprayed out my coffee laughing when this quote came by: Spend so much time googeling "Italian Fashists" I get a lot of adverts for the torrie party... made my day.
Italian tanks were not rubbish, they were decent in combat for when they were introduced, and excelent outside of combat. Looking at their breakdown rate for example show Italian tanks as some of the most mechanically reliable tanks in ww2, they were also very fuel efficient often outpacing the germans on the march due to not needing to be refueled as much. And they were some of the first tanks to put countermeasures to prevent ammunition explosions meaning the crew had relatively high survivability rates compaired to contemporary designs.
Watchig your Battlereport really Schooled and Tought me how to play. I was facing a Russian horde as Zhe Ghermanzzz.... and a Russian Truck full with Nasty Things was racing towards me... My LMG Team or my 2 Veteran LMG picked it off at it's inception. The Russian Player was pretty pissed that his Plan didn't work and his Truck Horde hat to walk a Couple of Turns.
Nice seeing the British getting up and at them with the Italians. Shilling for another channel here. But go and checkout TIKhistory for some great WW2 content. Checkout his Battlestorm series, they are really good. Real time, real detailed for both sides and just fantastic work. See his North African Campaign. His on going Stalingrad series has gone over 30hours by now. And we've only started the closing of the German pocket. Paulus is being cut off. And Germany can't do anything to stop it.
Hi Guys, Excellent terrain and figures. Looks a great game. Not sure I understood the medium mortar rules... the Italian sandbags seem to give no extra protection than if the black shirts were stood in the open. Then the mortar hits on a '2' every turn after that.... Seems to be too good a weapon, do let me know if that's right... Thanks. :)
As it is indirect fire it hits on a 6 regardless of cover. If it misses and neither unit moves the following turn it "dials in" and then hits on one lower. So it would hit on a 5 the following turn, then a 4 etc. However if it hits it is considered to have dialed in so hits on a 2+ each turn unless either unit moves. Indirect fire can be a great way of digging out units in cover
Mortars are very good! The first time you shoot at a unit it hits on a 6. If you miss, The next time you shoot at the same unit you hit on a 5, and if you miss then next time it hits on a 4. So on and so on. This represents the mortar team "dialing in" on the enemy unit. However if at any point you get a hit with mortar it is considered to be "ranged in". That means the crew will hit on a 2+ going forward. However this whole process is reset as soon as the enemy unit moves, the mortar moves or the mortar switches target. E.g. mortar shoots, misses, next turn it should hit on a 5 but then the enemy unit moves so the mortar goes back to hitting on a 6 Hope that all makes sense :)
@@simone2095 Thanks Simon....still not sure why cover gives no protection at all. The Italians may as well have been in an open field.... Please help on this as I am trying to understand Bolt Action....which I do like.
@@vincnetjones3037 Mortars and other Artillery in real life fire their projectiles up in an arc, after which it falls down and hits its target. The walls, or most other cover, the target might be hiding behind don't matter if your artillery/mortar shots go right over it. The game's rules represent this by them getting no bonuses from their cover. Did that make sense?
Good looking armies and table but you guys definitely need to brush up on the rules. - The way you worked out the artillery strike was game changing. The Italians would of at least had a chance if that strike had been done properly. When the strike would of first hit the Italians wouldn’t of even been on the board at that location for the most part. You also mentioned that you screwed up and you thought rolling a 1 worked differently and you mixed it up with the air strike chart. Well you still would of messed up because an airstrike still comes in on a 1. Your enemy picks the target and resolves it. - Near the end you were going too fast and durning an Italian assault you said that they are assaulting so they lose all of their pins?… no, they still would of kept one of the two pins after passing the order test. - Not to mention you guys were forgetting about killed NCO’s which I believe would of caused that assault not to even be able to take place. - When reversing you only move at a half rate. - When you run with a tracked vehicle you don’t get any turns. You did this with a bren at one point. - British infantry ended up in the objective anyways so it didn’t matter by the end, but you can’t take objectives with tanks or other vehicles. Only exception being a loaded transport. - the Italian national rule of them suffering from a -3 to their moral is after they lose three units and only takes affect at the end of the turn. It in the middle. - seems you guys also forgot about “recce” rules. Would of certainly helped Italy a couple times during this game. - Order and moral tests are never higher than a 10. 11 and 12’s are always a fail.
Great board and scenery, shame about the racial stereotyping... On the artillery barrage as a one was rolled it's a miscalculation so a scatter dice and 3D6 are rolled and the outcome is resolved as a hit assuming it stayed on the table. And with the Shirkers pins always count as double.

Really enjoyed the game! Loving my Italians

Currently binge watching these. Thanks for being such a great channel for promoting some bolt action.
Before watching the game my god that board is sexy as hell! I can definitely see the quality difference with the camera too!
Tank only goes back half speed when failing order test
Love the Italians! After my German force is finished I’m onto my Hungarians
Got my own 25 pounder to use, however a mighty Churchill stands in the place of the sherman!
I am a big Bolt Action player love to see this. I put it up on Facebook
I love these live replays

Good game. Gonna be building up an Italian force. With my morale rolls I am dreading it. Should be a laugh though
Nice table! thanks for the battle report. I love seeing Italians on the tabletop.

The table looks wonderful
Looking to make a full Blackshirts army myself with the starter box. I'm just wondering can all Blackshirts units be fanatics
great batrep:) where did you get the river from?
That was a spicy meatball!
Why do the dice always hate the side I'm rooting for?! 🤦♂️

Yeah! I had to go to my safe space after hearing him say pizza, spaghetti, and Luigi. I don't know if I can watch another Mordian video ever again.
Mama Mia! Il Duce did nothing a-wrong!
Fuck yeah, the fash got bashed
Imagine venting your impotent antifa angst in the comments section of a niche tabletop game. Couldn't be me.
@@HelghastGrunt Expected no less from Mordian Glory's comment section lol
@@principetnomusic Well I am new to the channel, so I suppose there's a first for everything.
Good game a bit too much of italian stereotypes in my opinion. You spent much time speaking of pizza and spaghetti than commenting the game
Don't forget Luigi!
