I remember during Resonance era there were haters saying that he dominated the screen time in Resonance MV whereas he's only in MAW part & the beginning of Raise The Roof part. LOL. It's just every time he appears he leaves a strong impact to the audience.
He has something suitable to be the center. And only him can pull those things off. There's a reason why SM chose him to be the center but no one else. I'll be surprise if there's anyone doubt his position🙂
i think another thing that makes him a perfect center is his awareness of the other members and just his "in the moment"-ness in general. he oftentimes notices when others slip or make a mistake if it's anywhere in his field of vision, and he himself covers up mistakes, slips, wardrobe malfunctions etc. so flawlessly that i oftentimes don't even notice them unless someone points it out and/or the moment is played in slow motion. examples: the many times his monitor fell out, the time he removed both shoes mid-performance and did the cherry bomb drop in SOCKS for christ's sake, the times when they performed on a slippery stage and you can see him subtly checking how the others are holding up, that time during a 2019 gayo when he had a pretty hard fall but still played it off with no hesitation. although sometimes i get worried about this too, the fact that he seems to prioritize the perfect performance over his own health...taeyong, stay safe and healthy please :,-) in conclusion: taeyong might have been chosen as the center by sm in the beginning, but since then he has proven 10000 times that he more than deserves that positon!

Center is a really important position, when u first see a dance performance,u r eyes go to center, center has to grab attention to make performance more better, taeyong always grabs ur attention with his moves and facial expressions,u can't help ur eyes just follows his movement,and taeyong also adds new moves to the stage so a song's choreography never gets boring,infact u enjoy watching him. it's always exciting
Taeyong for me is a passionate and very talented artist who totally love his craft and so it loves him back. He gives out the best of himself every time thereby creates an unforgettable and impactful performance at any given stage.
He's just very eye-catching, something about him always just grasps my attention. Like, he could walk off camera and I'd stare after him. And then when he comes back, he's the only one I really see. He has such a way with moves and has such a flair to him, his dance is just breathtaking.

Great video. For me what makes Taeyong so impressive is the perfect balance of charisma and skill which he has. He knows how to engage the audience through his facial expressions and his creativity in his dancing and natural groove just makes him impossible to miss. For me, a lot of the times he doesn’t even need to be in the center to capture my attention and I can’t say that for a lot of idols. He IS the center wherever he is.

Taeyong was only an ordinary teenager but with his hard work for 3 years (?) he became a top-tier idol who has complete package, can sing, rap, dance, write lyrics, compose, arrange, acting, has model quality, fashion stylish, kind personality, you can see that he actually learned really hard, usually although certain idols can debut with hard work rather than natural talent but I think we can see that these idols still have weaknesses that can be seen and analyzed that's why we often say "oh he/she is improving", "oh, his/her stage presence is better" and all that but Taeyong is not an idol who being called "better" in each performance or comeback but he is "the best" since the beginning, he can cover his shortcomings very tightly so no wonder at first maybe we won't believe that he had no particular talent and will think that he born with talent. I totally agree, I think SM did the best job of choosing TY to be the face of the group. because every NCT performance has is always interesting and always makes me think NCT is an extraordinary group with their performances on stage. Taeyong is a great center because he manages to make the performance comprehensive and whole when he's in front. He pulls everything together so well that you barely notice the mistakes if there were any. He's also captivating to watch. He isn't called a Stan attractor for nothing.
Taeyong has an excellent understanding of the requirements of a successful performance. Although he was cast for his looks he has indeniable creative and leading talents. He has the urge to express himself through different channels: fashion, drawing, choreographing, writing. He would be an excellent producer in my opinion both musically and visually and definitely a good team manager or teacher has well even if producer fits him more to make good use of the creative side in addition to the leading/encouraging/caring one. I just fear for his future as a dancer due to his hyperlaxy.
