    My Titania 3.5x4.5m was delivered a week before Christmas and I'm looking forward to getting it up. I'm grateful to you for taking the sting out of the building unknowns and adding a few improvements. I particularly liked the extra window as we won't get much sun in our room because we have an odd shaped garden. I need to get the office up, but that's definitely on the cards in the future.

    Let me know if you come around Kingston and I will buy you a few pints!

    Hi Nick, any chance of another video with comments after the first 6 months of use? I'm looking at builidng one of these but would be interested to here if the A/C heat pump worked out well

    Hey Nick, awesome set of vids, thanks for these! I'm also concerned about the lack of insulation. How many 2400 x 1200 boards did you order? Also, how thick is each insulation board? Thanks!

    Hi Nick, really enjoyed watching your videos on the Titania office build, I’m just about to purchase the 5.5x3.5 version and I’d like to know if you think it’s worth adding in the extra insulation for the walls and floor and if so what thickness did you use?

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for the feedback Neil. Now that’s a good question, I think if I was building another tomorrow I probably wouldn’t. Mainly because it comes with insulation and the price of insulation I put in has gone up a lot. I went for 50mm thickness. We have a small air conditioner/ heat pump, which heats and cools the room very quickly.

    Hi Nick, what thickness insulation did you use to fill the voids?

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos  9 днів тому

      50mm. But the price has gone up a lot since I brought it, would think twice about insulating at that price.

    With adding the extra insulation and the window, you could have done it from scratch. It wouldn't have taken much more. What's your thoughts?

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos  9 місяців тому

      Yes you make a good point and I did think of building from scratch, lots of good videos on youtube. But in the end I decided to go this way as I thought it would be easier and quicker

    Thank you for series. Very helpful. But is it worth spending all that money considering the length of life of the building?

    Looks great! I'm just figuring out what to do with the internal walls on my Helena office - i want to plaster them but i'm not sure if it needs to be boarded out of if i can just put bond straight onto the walls and then plaster on top of that. Do you have any thoughts?

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos  2 роки тому

      Well I am not an expert, but daughter just plastered straight onto the walls using Wickes one coat. It looks really good! She went for a rough look as she wants it to look like a medieval tavern and it looks really cool

      Hello.
      We decided to get ours plastered as we weren't happy with the finish.
      We hired a plasterer and he said due it being gypsum board, it would need an adhesive coat first as regular plaster won't stick to it

    Hi Nick, great series of videos. I have just ordered a Helena 5.5x3.5 for my daughter to use for her dog grooming business. Would you be kind enough to tell me what insulation you bought, I wasn’t expecting to have to buy additional insulation, but having watched all your videos I see your logic in installing it. Equally, the Electriq Air con unit, do you recommend getting one?
    Thanks for your time. Andy

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos  2 роки тому

      Hi Andy I brought Recticel Insulation board 50mm thick from B&Q. The price has gone up a lot, when I started buying it it was in the £30s, now it is in the £50s. Do you need it? Very subjective, I was also interested improving the sound insulation as the office is used at night. As for the split level aircon, my daughter says yes and I say no. I struggled with the price as I had to pay £700 to have it fitted. They wouldn’t even send the unit until I paid for fitting.

      @@SimpleNickVideos Hi Nick, thanks for replying, I think I’ll wait for it to be delivered then make the call on the insulation. I think I will at least insulate the floor. Great videos, thank you.

    Great video. Mine is getting delivered next week. I'm about to purchase the AC/Heatpump unit. Which model do you have? Also is it power from the 3pin plug internal or is there additional power outside?

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos  Рік тому

      I went for the iQool9, which I am pleased with, but a word of warning. The unit cost me £358 from ApllianceDirect, but they would not send it until I had paid for them to fit it. This cost another £717 and it only took the guy 1 1/2 hours - what a rip off. I power it via an internal 3 pin plug

    Hi Nick,
    Thank you for sharing.
    Can I ask how long did it take you to build it, just with the materials from Dunster, without all of your nice extras :) ?

    • @SimpleNickVideos
      @SimpleNickVideos  Рік тому

      Well the floor, walls and roof were built in two days, and the doors and windows were another day. Then everything else went slow as we were waiting for the electrician, and I also decided to fill my time by adding the modification. But putting the inside walls supplied should only take a day I would have said.

      Check the Dunster website for latest prices. I probably wouldn’t go with the extra insulation, so the price on the website would be the price you pay
