Im 25 year's old I in my experience I didn't find Mohd Rafi songs feel from any singers. I find Kishore ji ka level singer's many🙏
That's just not true. While rafi's sweetness and agility couldnt be matched by any singer after him, tell me one singer who could achieve the tone Kishore had in songs such as "Chingari Koi Bhadke", "Panthi hoon mai us path ka". The nasal kishore clones such as abhijit, kumar sanu are nowhere near close, if you talk about in a strictly musical sense.

Javed Ali being a trained singer, has done justice to the original. However, we must remember that the purity and clarity of Rafi's voice (which is God's gift) alone takes this song to a different level. Rafi's voice had that unique quality where he was able to bring out the bhaava or expression of every word in a song perfectly. I laud the effort of these singers to keep the legacy of Rafi alive. Rafi was, as Manna Da said once, a "gharaana" in playback singing by himself. He is a university of knowledge about playback singing. Every aspiring singer must listen to Rafi's songs to know the nuances of playback singing.

To add to my earlier comment, we must give full credit to the music director, the lyricist, the director and producer all of who had a role to play in coming out with such classic, timeless and priceless songs. The producers and directors in those days gave freedom to the music director to take his time to come up with excellent music; the music directors, in turn, gave freedom to lyricists to give full poetic expression to their lyrics and gave time to singers to rehearse for days, if required, before recording. As Mahendra Kapoor said in one interview, the reason why these old songs survive in people's minds for decades is because of the team work and efforts that went into producing those songs. Today, they spend hundreds of crores on movies and the producers want to recover their investment as soon as possible and so, no one has time, and songs have to be made in a hurry. Also, quality of lyrics has gone down. Though technology has certainly made music production easy, it has brought in a complacency among singers that even their mistakes can be corrected by auto tuners, etc. There is also that team-work missing. In the olden days the entire orchestra had to come together to produce a song. Today each singer, each instrument player can play his part on a track and go away. This lack of physical interaction has also lowered the quality of the final outcome. When entire orchestra is in place, suggestions for improvement can come from any of them. Today, the music director sits in front of a computer to get his tunes. The era of music "composers" (which means creators) has gone. Perhaps in India, Ilaya Raja would go down as the last of the music "composers" because composers create music from their imagination. Today's music directors are essentially "cut and paste" artists!!! Dr. Balamurali Krishna said: Classical music is any music that will remain in people's minds and they seek out those songs for several decades. Can you think of film songs that have come out in any Indian language in the last about 10 years that we remember for more than a year? You an decide which songs are classical and why we call them so!!!

Such a beautiful song, one of the unforgettables of Rafi Sahab, heart touching lyrics, composition and music! Kabhi khud pe kabhi haalaat pe rona aaya, such sad lyrics, go deep down into the recesses of your heart, touching your soul! Tears just flow unknowingly. Javed Ali ji has done full justice to this beautiful song, sang with his heart and soul, leaving the audience spell bound! The orchestra band musicians were awesome, played beautifully and gave full support to the singer! The Sarangi was just incredible, could not have been anything better for these lyrics, the music was ethereal, touched our soul! Flute recital was awesome, such enchanting music. A very commendable performance by the singer and the musicians, thoroughly enjoyable! Thanks for sharing this wonderful presentation and performance!

जावेद जी ने बहुत खूबसूरती से गाया है, लेकिन फिर न जाने क्यों जो रफ़ी सहाब की आवाज की गोलाई से गाना बाहर नहीं जाता था इक parameter में बंध जाता था जो शुरू से अंत तक रहता था और लगता था कि रफ़ी सहाब कितना आसानी से गा रहे हैं, जबकि दूसरे गायक उनके गानों को गाते हुए ऐसा लगता है कि बहुत संघर्ष कर रहे हैं और गाना बिखरा हुआ सा लगता है।
