Monaco is expanding its capabilities too. They purchased a marina in Cala del Forte-Ventimiglia when the original construction stalled. The total cost of the project was a little over 2 Billion US and it can handle Yachts up to 70m. You can get a 40-year lease on a berth there but they won't disclose the cost unless you qualify.

Not really. None of the pictures that appear on the "Ibiza Magna" section are actually from Ibiza Magna. And there are more expensive marinas than Puerto Banus.
Banus actually has 4 berths of up to 85m we were berthed opposite M/Y Secret (82m) there last season and there were a couple of other 65m yachts in there too. great list though.
Very informative (as always), thank you. I'm looking forward to your vlog about pricing during the MYS or during the Grand Prix. 😎. That's a completely different story and pricing grid!!!
For a 38x10 m. berth in Puerto Portals / Mallorca you pay 1.290 € a day plus 21% tax. The price for a 60 x 14m berth is not even listed tho they have 2 of them.
Indeed. The "entry fees" or "please let me come back on another day" fee are huge for St Tropez, Cannes, Portofina, Capri, Naples, and to a lesser extent, many other marinas, are extortionate. Some of the most coveted jobs in the Med ports are Harbour Master. Salary is reasonable, "gratuities" are staggering.
interesting to know this, the dark side of yachting so to speak. Personally, I think its good to hear more about the 'down' side just to appreciate the effort of just having one of these babies.
Good vid. Thanks for sharing. Question on the rates.... are they Peak time or all year round? Which then raises another question what happens to all of these awesome vessels in the winter time?? Thanks 👍👍
Even Naples in southern Italy is over a thousand Euros a night to berth your superyacht. Limited number of berths available and a lot of yachts anchor in the bay.
Weston Badke that has always been my experience. I was curious as well as to how the calculations were determined. Price per foot would have maybe been a good reference as well.
dexon777 this video is based on 55 m yachts. I don't know of any 55 m yards that cost €80 million. So obviously the price would be much lower than that, but yes €5000 is still a small number compared to that price. But the price still adds up since most of these yards would be docked at the end peak price pretty much all year round anyways by just moving around from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean. If they paid $10,000 per day, for example, that's 3.65 million per year, just in docking fees…
love your channel, as most yachts in the summer are in the med, can you also review the best quality for money moorings ie Porto Montenegro, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus. etc etc, would be really interesting to compare to this vlog.
What has marina real estate been like during the pandemic?? We’re all boats idle or did some owners decide to move full time on their yacht as a means of security & safe transport?? Is the Euro summer of 2021 back to normal??
When giving information you need to keep to the fact of how they charge, as this is different depending of size of your super yacht, they charge by the meter in length and the width of your yacht and there is special discounts if you take up a 6 month mooring or a 12 month mooring for maximum discount. You also pay extra for electric and water too.
I may be dumb here but id just anchor it out at sea, if its gonna storm heavily, quickly get a captain to your yacht and move it away from the storm. Take the little boat to shore etc. Any reason why im wrong?
Capri probably has the smallest marina of all mentioned, max 60m and not many of those berths. Apparently during peak season bribe money for some marinas has to be added to the official prices....
What do you get for your money - shore based electricity connection? Garbage collection? Sewerage offload? WiFi? A pilot boat perhaps? Or is all this stuff extra?
Is it possible to avoid the majority of these costs by staying anchored at bay? Seems just as simple to stay out of the marina to save those thousands of dollars a day.
cartman2dk the bigger the boat, the bigger the cost. They charge on a per foot rate, or per meter. So like a decent marina in North America would charge $23-$26/foot. Plus charge you for sewage pump out, and your shore power. South Caribbean is the cheapest place to moore. Expect .70cents/foot rate. But they don’t have huge births.
What about events? For example Monaco might be in the 10th spot in the list but I'm pretty sure that a spot in Monaco during the Monaco GP is worth much much much more than any of which we witnessed in that list
Puerto Benus That was my jaw hitting the desktop. // So, what's the average daily cost to move the ship under cruise between ports? // Port Hercules is likely lower-priced to entice the gamblers to give away millions on the games. // Well, glad I'm just a po boy with no toy boat to require me to fill the water with large bills. // Great and informative vid, as usual.

All prices based on 55m yacht
So if you come to the berth with an 100m+ superyacht the price will skyrocket i guess? @eSysman
Thank you for posting this comment. This all makes sense now

How much do they charge per tonne to go through the panama/Suez canals..?
Very interesting. Love to know where the bargain basement marinas are.
Do they take discount coupons?
Do they determine cost by feet of the boat? What about smaller boats that are permanently at the marina?
Aaron Bates yes it’s always calculated by LOA of the vessel. Per foot rates. Or per meter. So I’m not sure how he make his calculations.

Great video as usual sir.
What are the fees when anchoring off the coast? Such as at Capri? Are there any fees?
For such berth per day costs I assume the prices mentioned are for a "standard" length yacht for comparison purposes?
Costs were based on a 55m yacht
Curious. Do those daily and monthly fees include electricity, water and black water disposal? Or is that all extra?
Considering what it costs to fuel those behemoths having one's yatch moored and plugged into shore power would save heaps I reckon

If you have that much money, you may as well actually purchase the berth. Or just buy some land along the sea and build yourself a sort of berth.
