watching this interview and more recent ones, I can tell that Alex is becoming more comfortable with being interviewed. He is less nervous today but still always very genuine.
He licked his lips and I almost fell over! The man is beautiful.. His actions are simple and he's so beautiful and his voice is so sweet.
"I'm Scandinavian, goddammit! We love to get naked!" (OMG, his smile when he said that ... I died. I just literally died.)

Why didn't I know about him at the time I was in Stockholm? then I would have kept an eye out for him, lol
But I still can't get that he's Swedish, his American accent is SO convincing! He's so talented, I respect him!
I´am so glad he was not called to play christian grey, that movie would ruins his career forever

holy eff i love this interview!! alex is genuine and sweet and funny and serious! and he really seems like he gets eric and who eric really is, which is important. LOVE him, LOVE eric, and can't wait to see what he'll do next season on TB!!

Great interview--the good questions helped show off Alex's depth and insight as an actor. He is impossibly charming, intelligent, and sexy. If you've read the books, he is a perfect match for the Eric created by Charlaine Harris. I hope the show allows Eric to show his enthusiastic/humorous side--obviously Alex is capable of portraying that as well. Oh I hope TrueBlood makes it through at least 4 seasons--book 4 with Eric is intoxicating. Yum. They are so lucky to have Alex!!
I like what he says about pulling out those hidden qualities of yours that your character possesses. It is different to what most actors do - when they employ thousands of techniques of faking being what they are not, in fact. What can I say? The guy obviously THINKS, and they say it's a new sexy )))

He if from Sweden yes, born and raised in Stockholm and he still lives there when he is not making Hollywood stuff.
I wonder if he realizes how sexy his facial expressions and mannerisms are when he speaks. Just the way he furrows his brow when he's thinking and the little smiles he makes when he's talking... *sigh*

I have become in love with man not just the Eric character but his way hie beauty and something That i feel from him that inspires myself as an artist. i have been working on work related to him for a while now i only hope to figure out soon a way I can make sure he can receive and maybe choose something that I have done that he feels and loves. He is a very inspiring human face and body to create from truth and turn into what ever my mind takes me. I am grateful for Love to you Alexander.

He lives in the US when he is making a movie or doing true blood, Otherwise he is living in Stockholm with the of his family.

Hes right about us being more liberated than americans. I recall a finnish soup commercial few years back.. -prime time, folks- they were naked! and nobody made a big deal out of it.
Its how it should be.

sizzlin'. I've also noticed that he acts really genuine, you can tell he ain't preoccupied with trying to look good on camera or faking charisma (which often makes actors look like complete tools). No unnecessary attempt at forcing humour to impress anyone, a quality I see more of in foreign actors of this generation (american ones sound so fake during interviews...think Gossip Girl actors, yuck).
I agree that American scenes also have a lot of gratuitous sex and nudity, but I think one differences is that Americans really *care*--you can't have those scenes without it being a big deal, whereas in Europe, people are more likely to shrug it off as just another scene in a movie.

I know the maturity thing has to do with it...but I've just noticed a trend...even young actors in britain tend to be more down to earth...not all, but many whom Ive seen. The Harry Potter actors (with the exception of Hermione, she seems like she puts on more of a facade) for example. And older actors in America are sometimes fake too, people like Tom Cruise...yuck again, still enjoy his acting though. Not against anyone but Americans IMO have this need to keep up appearances...
