- Hi everyone. Northwood just publicly released their September Patreon Post covering some changes in an upcoming update. Specifically, their experimental weapon reworks! This includes the Micro-HID, the 3-X Particle Disruptor, and the Jailbird (albeit on a smaller scale than the other two lol).

Just gonna correct your on one thing: current micros firing range is not 10 meters, it’s 6.3, so LMB fire gives it 3.7 extra meters, with RMB fire being over double current range

As an SCP and Half Life fan, I'm all for SL becoming a fusion of the two. Combining the vibes of Black Mesa/Alyx and SL would make a killer atmosphere IMO.

Same here! Absolutely love Half-Life to bits and I think it only makes sense for some of it to bleed into SL with the whole underground laboratory testing out-of-this-world stuff lol.

I liked the futuristic design of the old particle disruptor, but the new and more half life really is worth it too.

I like the concept of the micro having drawbacks for holding a charge and causing the user to become a pair of shoes
I knew i wasnt the only one that thought of half life tau cannon when they talked about shoes!

for the offset of only 1 special weapon, the inventory should be a 7 or 8 slot, alongside an option to test how your mic sounds before joining a game.
What I want is a Power Armor akin to something like Gordon’s HEV suit that is locked in 079s room. Giving even more incentive to go in there and it gives the user stats and the speed like if you had one cola with giving the user some slightly more stamina than usual with 150 AHP that regenerates like an SCPs and a Super Heavy Armor Effect like Anti Cola. It would be freaking awesome to have a thing where it only activates when there are only a few people alive on the team that try to get it. It would be like having a human mini boss to take down to win.

This is amazing! Though in personal preference i'd put playermodel remake + reanimation on a higher priority.
5:39 I think just another pedestal item is iffy. In my mind, it could be a bit like chaos theory.
Maybe the particle disruptor wouldn't have it's own room(being inner entrance armoury) but instead be placed with the MG33 in PC armoury, or the chaos theory jailbird-on-surface-in-an-epsilon-box shtick. Or, they'll add a room for PX and/or jailbird, which would be nice since we haven't had anything new for a while.
Basically, I hope they change it from pedestal item to something like micros' current room

Yeah I’d love to see the 3-X and Jailbird have their own armory room vs. just being put around in lockers eventually. But I think this is a good solution for the time being.

I assume jailbird is uneffected as it doesn’t seem to entirely be electronic, the thing is sentient

Looking forward to the new micro, i saw the model while checking out the patreon and it god me excited, it'll be harder too use but it'll be funny if the overcharge does AOE damage to enemies, like pink candy or Cola + Anti-Cola.
The limit on carrying special weapons bothers me because this indirectly makes the SCPs potentially stronger.

With new guns I would love Northwood to add some sort of minor gore to the game such as humans getting torn apart by 096 or bodies killed by 106 being corroded, etc so you don’t have to hover your mouse over bodies to see how they died.
Exactly I was thinking about that as well, it will improve the atmosphere of the game

I like these changes a lot, especially for the 3-X Particle Disruptor. The current one is pretty boring as they've acknowledged. I'm looking forward to seeing what future special weapons might be added. I kinda wish the special weapons lockers would be placed in more interesting spots than just replacing one of the SCP item lockers, but it is what it is. It'll be funny to see a Class-D grab a 3-X Particle Disruptor in Light Containment, though. Definitely something to be more scared of for SCPs going down there... if the Class-D or Scientists can get a Facility Manager card fast enough to get one.

Imagine just 4 d-bois get guns from the ##00 armory in LCZ and upgrade their guns and somehow all get the micro from upgrading logicer and then upgrade the micro to particle disruptor

I feel like special weapon pedestal should be little bit more rare... When i saw the jailbird or partical disruptor for the firsttime after 50 hours in the game it felt really mysterious and unique.

I honestly am not sure about the new redesigned models for the two. Both have a experimental, yet unfinished feel. The older model for both previously seem experimental but refined. The Micro especially, with all the loose gubbins and exposed heatsync and tubes. As an "Emergency Anomaly killer", I thought the foundation would have something the resembles finished and usable instead of a scientist's side project.
Although the Laser gun's new model is rapidly growing on me. It feels appropiate as some scientist gives it to an Mtf and say "hey field test it thx" like the scramble gear. Less unstable than the micro.
honest to god if they somehow find a way to find those futuristic weapons from the past I will achieve inner peace

the new models look more like something made from scrap in a garage rather than made in a highly technologically advanced facility. really dont like them but the stat changes are cool
they should make the lockers require a tier 3 containment access key card so you cant just get a jailbird at the start of a round with a research supervisor card and so the tier 3 containment access will have a use again

i think it should be lower, a guaranteed MicroHID is pretty balanced already.

This is really cool and all, but shouldn't they be focusing more on revamping the appearance of the Surface and Entrance Zones and checkpoints to bring it in line more with what they did for the LCZ? Hell even the HCZ arguably pales atmosphere-wise in comparison to Containment Breach (notably the doors).

The only thing I really hate is that we can only have 1 of these at a time... What the crap? If you're good enough and lucky enough to get this gear you should be free to use it. You've earned it.
It's the closest thing to 1 human being able to challenge SCPs. Just let us have this damn it, it's not broken, no one asked for this change.
At least they didn't touch the Jailbird. The Jailbird was S tier game design. Just... *chefs kiss* elegant, powerful, counterable, fun, just... perfect. My only major gripe is accessing it is entirely too difficult, especially considering it's basically crafted from something that is arguably stronger. I love playing servers that offer other ways to acquire this unbelievably fun item.
I really enjoy these concepts, however this just comes to prove my sneaking suspicion that this game is in total re-work hell. Every update we've gotten for almost 4 years was reworks with very few new additions.
Before this Halloween update the game was starting to become extremely stale to me. We need to temporarily put a pin on "reworks", and start adding... idunno, a new playable scp? I'm really pushing for 3114 to be a permenant addition, we need something to break up the usual stale computer + larry + shy guy + dog or peanut spawn combinations.
Hope they will not make it spawn in light it would be way too op for scientists and class d to have it 3m after game start
Very good point! It could be very easy to turn the corner from 914 with a new O5 and get one of these weapons, maybe even turning one into the Micro. Let's hope they thought about that.

Can't say I'm a fan of the remodels at least from 3rd person, especially the disruptor which now looks rectangular and bland af, but the rework is a nice stir in the old SCPSL pot, reworks are always nice.
I almost forgot, I feel like the superweapons being IN NORMAL GLASS CONTAINMENT is absolutely insane and a horrible idea, they should have their own room- oh wait they already have one! How about there's one in 079's room too, only accessible after mid-game, making a guaranteed 2 on the map and the rest simply craftable in 914, or maybe having a random unique locker/containment "pedistal" spawn, but definitely not the glass one with such early-mid game access.

They aren’t in glass containment, the new locker is different it just spawns in the same places the glass ones do and has a similar concept
I don’t want the micro HID to be looking like a big Taser. I prefer them just to update the current model a little bit add a few changes just to make it look a little better instead of changing it completely.

i like the changes, but the new modles feels wired and something out of rick and Morty, i'd rather keep the modles we have, also i miss the futuristic mtf gun though the era may be bad
Yeah the new models will definitely take some getting used to but I think they're pretty cool. They look more like "experimental" weapons than perfected ones lol. Also yeah I miss the old laser guns too but at least we got the Particle Disruptor to sort of fill that hole!
@@IceyManDude after reading the lore it would make sense they look underdeveloped , i say this because he states they just began development of these weapons and are more keen to SCP termination especially SCP-106, and SCP-096.
