Had this on drum n bass slection 3 '1994' my most favourite song lost forever until tonight..... words can't describe how it feels to hear it again after all these years
One of the greatest mix discs of all time! I've still got a sealed copy. ❤️
What an album that was! I could listen to it loop until I die...
This track is nothing short of amazing, it is one of best tracks released by Aphrodite and one of the best jungle tracks period. Big Booyaa!
We remember it 30 years later (or in your case 27 years).
The drums still blow my stomach out my arse on this. Sooo bloody good
OMG. My neighbor (John) in the wherehouse I was living in '95 LOVED this track. Actually, he didn't - he used to bang on the walls when my roommate and I would come home at 3am and put it on. Ugh. Sorry John...BOOYAA!
the drum reverb and bass go so fucking crazy, it's unreal.
BIG BOOYAAAAA
Wanna feel like you're on holiday? 3:06 The sampling of "Sophia George - Girlie Girlie" is amazing.
I think this is the first Jungle Drum N Bass song I ever heard, and I was hooked.
I heard a story about a guy who was on acid for the first time, and then his friend played this track ... I can only imagine what he experienced.
,. Had no idea this was by Aphrodite. listened to it daily on my paper round at 14 lol.
Ahh 1994. the good old days, when I was 11 years old and had no idea that Jungle existed. Meanwhile......
Sick breakbeat editing. The Amiga, Octamed and the Akai ruled back then!
no1 choice gear!
I think though for this one, it was 2 OctaMED's midi synced up. he/they didn't get an akai s1000 (or whatever model) until about 1995, so the first 3 or 4 amazon II EP's I THINK are 2 OctaMEDs, put into a desk and beefed up.
Aphrodite in full effect. Loving the kicks on this one.
I was 17 when this dropped, Jungle Mania 94, think i wore the CD out!
Big booyaa! Big tune!
I found this on napster? Limewire? One of those back in the day. Still one of my favorites. Freaking classic. Still gives me goosebumps.
Buy the vinyl and frame it!
that intro tho!! drop is epic
Breakdown in the middle = Sophia George - Too Girly Girly
Que mundo é esse que me deixa louco! Extraordinário Jungle.
BIG BOO YA!! Classic tune, Big Up
BIG TUNE !!! RESPEKT
Biggest booyah rockin while clockin all kinds of hits that be shockin' brock wile while brockin' these tunes do the talkin' and step right up walkin' like bad Jack the ripper they huntin and be stalkin.
aint seen Tony B in a while .got a white label of his somewhere:)
VIBES
Turned blk mkt wild when played as white label, one of top 5 tunes
Diamond in the ruff
I remember listening to a bass test of a remix to this song mad tune though
The one and only LOVEGOD
Tune!
❤❤❤
The sample is a reggae tune called “your too girlie girlie” which is a tune in its own right
Круто
🤯👌☁
T .
Un fckn believable🔥🔥🔥🔥
breaks so strong
brockie plays it on a Slammin vinyl absolute oldskool album and that intro is a bit different, longer deeper bass and big pads in the background ,
Thats a quality album and where I finally Danny Breaks
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is one of the channels drowned out? Sounds like the break drops out a tad in the beginning.
Like I commented in another vid. The funkiest white man alive :)!
Is this the first Jungle tune to use a crescendo snare roll?
I used rolls and long fills a few times in tunes before this one I think. I think my rolls could sometimes be more elaborate than those by other producers at the time.
Aphrodite, you man are a genius!!!!
What Andrew Sturgess says. Loved it all then, love it even more now. Thanks.
Is this the original? I only ask because the original version on the Jungle Mania 2 Album has the loops in the intro slightly longer as tho in this they are gated or clipped off? I dont mean the end of the tune shortened but the actual break loops in the intro. @DJ Aphrodite ? cheers.
Yes this is the original. I actually saw on some old disks I was going through this weekend that I did special versions for compilations. I did this with a few tracks around the time. Jungle Massive and Jungle Renegades I did VIPs of tracks.
@@DJAphrodite I'd love to know what you think of our tracks...
@@DJAphrodite where are the 'Beat Booyaa ' and 'Large in all areas samples from mate, or was that just done by one of the guys in the studio? Or is it too sacred info to reveal haha cheers
guessing this is the reference tune cos it's DJ Aphrodite but i remember the intro differently:\ Nah actually i think there at least two other versions of this ?? Fuckin huuge tune
Could be this version... APH 13
ua-cam.com/video/pspOk7yC8bQ/v-deo.html
no,i remember it being closer to a tracker .MOD (octamed?) playthrough vid of the tune i saw on here ages ago..btw is the .mod available anywhere?
the mod playback was just just the drum parts with gaps between
Ah yes it is that one! Thanks ( APH - 11 )
🪔🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥👍
i miss something in the version . is this truly the original from 1994 ?
KONlNG did you have it on a mix tape? This featured on Drum and Bass Selection Volume 3 and the way DJ Hype mixed it made it sound like a significantly different intro.
Theres a version without the big booya vocal chops
Yeah it’s a little different from the one I own
Drum programming to rival Krome and Time
I don't think their programming used much pitch change.
DJ Aphrodite Quite a bit, Ganja Man, License, Studio One Lik if you go back and have a listen, they use phrases with it....but this tune takes it to the maxium
haha the nerve. Yeah. You teach the lovegod about drum programming......
Aphrodite taught Krome & Time about drum programming! Compare drums of Some Justice to Fireball, both in rotation at the same time, to see what I am talking about.
