I have a question please. Is it recommended to do a partial shake replacement (perhaps 600 sf on a 1200 sf side of a house)? Specifically how is the mesh underlayment and roofing tarp paper aligned when trying to tie in existing shakes with new shakes over a large surface. Our concern being potential leaks where the new shakes abut with the existing shakes. Thanks. Nice Video!
Nice, I love that alignment trick!
Eso era todo lo que necesitaba gracias chicos por ese excelente video ❤

Legal mesmo parabéns pelo seu trabalho maravilhoso 👏🤩
Is the first layer of underlayment an iceshield membrane? Do u need a breather under the cedar?
just curious how much of a reveal you went with? Thanks! Workmanship looks great...
Thank you! They were 18'' cedar shakes, so 7.5'' exposure
Be nice if you explained how your attaching the straight edge boards to rest shingles on
Lightly nailed
So you’re nailing that guide board right into the face of the shake? Is that leaving holes? How does that work?
The wood will swell and basically seal that hole. Should anyway.
How long did that side take to do with two guys ?
How many square s
Are you just nailing that guide board in every row?
Yes sir
How long will last ??
Looks fantastic. I like it .
Around 25 years, give or take a few years based on climate. Cedar is beautiful but it doesn't last that long
