Very helpful I've been a photographer for a year mainly specialising in portraits but I thought asking for a deposit would put people off. Its nice to know that I might be taken more seriously if I ask for a deposit as last minute cancellations have been the bane of my life.
I try to look at it like this. Those that refuse to pay a deposit and the ones that are likely to cancel - anyone that is truely keen to shoot with you will be happy to pay. Good luck with it all mate 👍🏼
thnaks man. I had an issue a day ago. The client wanted the RAW and i said no. That turned into an argument. Today i´m watching this and its helpfull. Greeting from venezuela
Always and awkward conversation. Glad this helped 🙏🏼
Great video. Love it!
Do you have a physical example of the contract that you usually use? I have no idea how to write one and it would be very useful to actually have one to see
It's been 2 years, and no one has responded to this one 😭
So many great points. Thank you 🙏🏼
Appreciate it 🙏🏼
Awesome Video Julian! I did notice that you mentioned a deposit. You stated at the beginning of the video that this is more of a guidelines and isn't done by a lawyer. I did some research and wanted to recommend calling it a retainer as a deposit typically means it is something that is refundable. I do photography as well and this has helped me here in the past.
Some valuable tips right there. Thanks!
Happy you found it useful!!
This is very helpful. Thank you very much for this information, Julian!
Glad it was helpful!
Hey would you share a template of the contract ?
These were some key points. Thanks a lot

Helpful information. It’s always good to have a contract
It sure is! Thank you 🙏🏼
Great points. I've come into the RAW file issue a few times myself.
Thanks mate! Yeah the RAW file discussion can be a tricky now to explain to clients - that's why it's always best assume they are not aware and let them know up front.
So much good info. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you
Some good advice there. Thank you

Very helpful💯
Glad to hear that! Thanks for checking it out
Awesome pointers my dude !
Thank you mate 🙏🏼
This would indeed be considered a legally binding contract in most places. If someone was very unhappy and brought you to court, you could be sure they would introduce this document.
wow, this is super usefull. great video. thank you very much
Thank you! Glad it was helpful
Thank you! Glad it was helpful
Great information man
Thanks a lot brother
That's Informative. I always knew that written agreement is solidly reliable between Photographer and Clients for reference purposes. But I like you to talk about Wedding Photography and how to set up a meetings with potential clients and gain their trust without having a rented office.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Wedding photography is not something I do so I'm not the best person to give advice on this
@@JulianLallo OK thanks
Realize this is a couple years old but I’m about to book my first event and this is super helpful!! Curious if you’d be willing to share this PDF?
Thanks
Thanks for watching
really helpful thankyou! should we mention that its not legally binding?
Glad you found it useful. No need to mention - you are basically just trying to convey your terms and conditions to the client so there are no surprises.
Do i do physical contracts or digital? Everyone is talking about them but I don’t know if it’s digitally or physically.
I send mine digitally with my rate card/invoice
Hey Julian! When working with clients do you allow them to choose the location of the shoot on their own, or do you work with them in deciding the location? Right now I've been working with my clients on where they want to shoot their photos but it's a lot of extra work sometimes for me so I was wondering if you have any tips for my question? Thanks for your time!
It really depends. Some have it sorted and done want me to suggest locations. My advice would be to take a deposit before you start investing time into scouting locations.
@@JulianLallo that makes sense. thank you for answering my question that really helps!
From my experience watching judge Judy, a lot, seems legal to me. lol
