They were...and are...truly "The Greatest Generation"
Yeah, right. All the problems we are dealing with now is because of this generation. Americans need to read more.
@@ekcamelot stfu did you ever fought in a war and seen your friends head get blown off in front of you
According to what all they accomplished considering how little they were given.
Those were some massive PT classes, hundreds all moving as one.
I can not envision today's military (2024) EVER achieving what the military did for the US in those times. I was in Vietnam and I understand then people might have been drafted as I was but also many enlisted (assuming they were not politicians.)

Waiting for the remix !
This film doesn't make the Army Air Corps sound all that desirable.
I was curious and looked up the modern Airforce academy demerit system. It seems at some point they flipped it where now upper classmen get twice the demerit points for failures and you lose demerits at half the rate of lower classmen. This makes a lot more sense though, as the higher your rank, the more impactful punishments should be as you're setting a bad example for the new recruits. That's something I really dislike about some of the other military academies in modern day where they make it seem like being an upper classman means you have the priveledge to haze/bully the new recruits, which is the complete opposite of leadership. But some academies are fixing that.
This generation was a great generation, but I will always suggest that the greatest generation of U.S. history is that of the ones who fought the American Revolution. No reliable logistical support from the government; lack of pay, and, more importantly, lack of food.
1:00.- footage from training film "Land and Live in the Arctic" !
Our Greatest Generation! I doubt such a generation will come again in my remaining lifespan.

One way to get men to NEVER GIVE UP! Tell them to go ahead and quit, it's the easiest way out.
Unless the C-47 gets shot down also.😈
Now, it's a matter of pressing a few buttons back at a base in the US and the drone does it all.
I feel like a soldier when I'm at the computer building these tools. At least happy I can do my part, but no matter the job, we all get yelled at. XD
There's a trick to standing up for long hours, I'd say most who faint just haven't been taught it. You're trained to stand straight upright and rigid, but in fact you need to go through periodically relax parts of your body so that you don't faint. Bend your knees a little, take pressure of each foot in turn. So maybe the people getting demerits aren't weaker but are trying harder than the others to be perfect, and haven't been taught otherwise.
