According to my live chart, gold opened at +-USD 2,638 per ounce today. That would equate to ZAR 49,410 (x18.73). Divide by 28.35 to get to price per gram = ZAR 1,742.85. The accepted way to quote the gold price is in USD/oz.
Thanks for you comment. Its a bit confussing. We are reporting in grams seeing that South Africa is metricated, and we are reporting in ZAR, not so LOL But a very good remark. I think we should note this in graphic too. We had a heated discussion regarding this in our editorial meeting and we have chosen to go with the metric calculations.
