Jamie’s stories bring me to tears. They bring such life to my heart. This is how we know when one is speaking by the Spirit is their words bring life! THAT’S the God I know and love! I found individuals here and there but mostly casual believers. Who is this Maui group? I spent 6 years there going to 21 different churches looking for a group of people that lived out of relationship with God, and not merely playing church.
I've been a Christian for 50 years. I live in California. I've been looking for a church that emphasizes these things, hearing God's voice, empowering us with a touch of His Spirit, our identity in Christ, living by His power, and I've never found a church like this. I'm sure they're out there. But I've never found one. Thank God that there are some people out there talking about this, though.
I'm pretty sure he does NOT recommend disobedience to God's written word, but my sense is that you can go to 98% of churches in America and you can hear a message about obedience to God's written word. What you will NOT hear from those church are the things Jamie Winship is talking about.
