They hand-wrote Detention slips on triplicate carbon paper, and the look on our teacher's face as he struggled with exactly what words to use was priceless. I grew up as a minority in a 80% plus black neighborhood. While I have met some of the most wonderful people in my life living in that area and in those neighborhoods, The fact of the matter is the overwhelming majority of them even if they're not bad people are just simply loud and obnoxious and they do not care if it inconveniences you whether it is at 5:00 a.m. 2:00 in the afternoon or 11:00 at night. They do what they want to do when they want to do it and they could not care less how you feel about it.
If they're not yelling and just being loud in general then it's also the TV being so loud that a deaf person could hear it and then of course the overwhelming majority of the time it's the loud music and the accompanying base. Oh and it doesn't matter if you approach them with the utmost kindness and respect while asking for it to be turned down or off and it doesn't matter if you approach them with an attitude, 90 plus percent of the time regardless of that you're going to get the same reaction and it's not going to be a good one for you.
I do not know why this is commonplace in this culture and secondary to that is also common in the Hispanic culture just not to the extreme as we're talking about here but regardless it makes it incredibly difficult for you to want to live amongst them and that's sad.
I finally moved away at 27. It's been 10 years now. That was the greatest decision I've ever made in my life. I would never go back to that.
Oh in the comment denominator is always the position in their eyes that they are simply not doing anything wrong. Just simply some of the most selfish and unempathetic it people.
I am a music fanatic. But I care about my neighbors and that is because I treat others how I want to be treated. This is why I purchased EarPods. If you're living in a townhouse apartment or condo there should never be any point which the neighbors should hear your music or feel your base vibrating their walls.

Unfortunately the "victim" didn't help by admitting that they threatened to "come out there and smash that speaker" then actually came outside and got in his face before the gun was pulled. Sure the music was unreasonable and the guy shouldn't be intoxicated in charge of the firearm but by admitting to screaming at and threatening the guy before going out to confront him the reporting party could be seen as the instigator, at least partially, which meant they couldn't go with assault charges or anything and had to stick with the lesser charges
Again, not excusing the guys actions but the caller made things much worse than they needed to be and put himself in harms way rather than just calling it in

Well, in this case I'm more inclined that it was the right decision from the judge. The reason is, that he has a job, he wasn't belligerent with police. The question is, how much does it cost society to provide some care for the alcoholism versus paying for prison, and how likely is it that he re-offends.
Normally I'd agree with you, but this one... Is different.

There was a guy here in Baltimore that was actually recently killed for confronting another guy about his music. The best thing to do is always walk away from things like this if you dont agree with it. We live in an extremely diversified society nowadays here in America unfortunately where folks have different viewpoints on life. Sometimes you can’t interrupt the things that other people find enjoyable. You may not agree with what another person is doing but that’s never going to matter so the best thing to do is always re position yourself somewhere else to avoid it for your safety. I have Hispanic neighbors that blast their circus music all hours of the night while I’m trying to sleep. You know what I do? I do not ever confront them. I can get their music shut off by simply calling the police. Works every time for me!!
