Love your video.. thanks for this. With the Kona I used a lot PlugShare and directions with Google maps, kinda off like what you described. With the Ioniq6, I found myself using PlugShare to get an overview of the chargers and reliability on my route, then I map it out with the Internal car map ( due to the BMS system and warming up the battery by choosing the charger POI), and I open up Waze for traffic / reporting .. found that for me, that’s the best option. I’m impressed as to how good the internal gps of the car with the POI chargers have become.
Yeah in the winter, if battery preconditioning is needed then I'd find the station with plug share and navigate to it with the built in system. That's would make sense
Have you found that the charging stations in Plug Share are all listed in the cars own system or can you add new charging stations to the car system.
The car's system unfortunately is always going to lag behind a bit. And no, there's no way to add stations yet.

That's a great question... You can do it from the Google maps app.. and from Waze.
@@edsgarage001 It's possible in Waze, but it's not possible in Google Maps (via Android Auto) as far as I know.
Real good info and video of Google and waze. I read Google bought waze but keeps it as a separate app- I use both and perfer waze for ibfo and Google for satellite mapping. BUT, I got a nice new 2023 RAM with that fantastic, they say, 12" screen. Android auto will not do Google or waze full 12" screen. It does split screen fine. I read Apple will give full 12" screen but I can't just buy an Apple for that. Thanks for a nice tutorial. If you can experiment with a RAM 12" 2023/2024 with Android vs Apple that would be interesting too.

How does the Hyundai map app compare to Google for route planning?
It's fine, but honestly Google maps is the best. The Hyundai map can't account as well for traffic, construction, road closures etc. Plus Google is better at coming up with different routes.
Hi Ed, the recent ioniq6 update mentioned something about the media software now allowing Android auto wireless?? Am I correct? Or do you still need a wireless adapter?
There's rumors that it'll be added via an update. But that hasn't been the case yet. At least not in Canada
@edsgarage001 New ev owner here. Can you perhaps make a separate video for how to navigate with EV, using one of these apps and focus on how to plan battery preconditioning? In Hyundai I know it takes care of it if you use the built in navigation.

So, in north-up view locations are hidden :/ ? My car-display is not showing locations (like parks, malls, shops, etc. ) because i use north-up view is that normal ?

How do I get Android Auto on my Ioniq 6?
Do you own an android phone?
If you do, then just plug it into the USB A port on the forward upper portion of the center console.
If not, then just use Apple CarPlay if you've got an iPhone.
Or consider the GT6 AI box that I've linked in the description (it's not Android, but rather, full Android and it's awesome)
Hi! How to change maps from android auto to night mode? In my phone and google maps from my android headunit i already set to night mode. But still in day mode when i connect my phone to android auto in my headunit.
So till now when i drive at night, i dont connect my phone to android auto. Just use google maps from my headunit.
On your phone, go to settings and search for the Android auto settings. (I searched for "auto" and found it pretty quick)
Then, within the Android auto settings on your phone you'll find the setting for night/day mode.
@@edsgarage001 hmm just check android auto setting in my phone. Already set automatic for maps. Today i drive at 9pm but still in day mode. I'm confused 🤔🤔🤔

That's plug share... It's always done that for some reason. That's why I don't rely on what plug share says, but instead go to the Google maps for the distance.
84 charge stops x 20 minutes each, thats 30 hours of charging.
During a 40 day trip, and we ate breakfast or lunch or dinner during the stops.
But what was your point exactly?
