HOW TO SPEND ONE DAY IN SALEM, MASSACHUSETTS | Day Trip To Salem from Boston!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лип 2024
- Today we hopped on the train out of Boston and headed to SALEM for the day. We spent the whole day in Salem, following the Salem Heritage Trail and visiting all the top sights, including the Witch House, the Witch Museum, the House of Seven Gables and other sights, including several locations relating to the Salem Witch Trials and Hocus Pocus filming locations.
We even venture off the Heritage Trail for a few spots, including the OLDEST candy store in all of the USA, as well as a pretty famous house featured in Hocus Pocus!
Salem is such a beautiful town in Massachusetts an is definitely one of the best smaller U.S cities we have visited. As a bonus, it makes the perfect location if you are looking for a quick day trip out of Boston.
We hope you enjoy and that our video gives you some ideas for when you plan to visit Salem, MA!

In Salem, important to note Titutba was Native American, from the Caribbean. This makes the understanding of these witch trials as more akin to Maoist or Stalinist purges. Dark period in Massachusetts. Note that Massachusetts executed MANY people who did not fit into the conformist norm.
I’m from Salem, and you did a great job with your tour! Happy I found your channel!
Awww thank you!! Salem is a beautiful place - we loved it!
Awww thank you!! Salem is a beautiful place - we loved it!
The Peabody Essex Museum!!!! Next time.
We’d love to go back one day!
As always, an informative video. 👍🏻
Let's feed the dear al-go with a mixture of witchcraft and sweets so that he sticks to it ✌🏻😅❤️
Salem looks so interesting ~ i love the way you both provide a mix of history, vibes and food things ❤ my kind of travel vlog 🥰🥰
Awww thank you! We definitely try to include a mix of everything - we want to be informative but also show our authentic experience as well 😊😊 thanks for watching!
I'm glad you enjoyed Salem, I live and grew up here...its always really interesting to see people's impressions who come from outside the state. Safe travels!
We really enjoyed it and would love to come back! Thank you for watching 🫶🏼
As always another awesome vid! You both deserve way more views for such top quality videos. 😊 how long do you guys have left on your travels before heading home?
Awww thank you so much!! We’re hoping to go as long as we can afford, but our original goal was 12 months which would bring us to June 😊
Definitely Geese they are from Canada they come in my state of Michigan beware they are crazy
I'm glad we didn't get too close 😅
please answer this... my wife and I wants to go here but we know around late september early october and so on is crazy busy. would it be safe to say early september we can at least see the town be halloween fall ish and see the folliage ?
We’ve only been in December but from what we’ve read it’s more likely to be decorated late September. That being said I think a lot of the locals decorate early September but the town wide stuff is more late September, but with that definitely comes the crowds. If you’re set on wanting to see Salem in full Halloween mode it would probably be best to go late September, but if you’re happy to just see the key sights with some minor potential for Halloween then early September should be fine 😊
@@GoForLaunchVideosyeah we are trying to avoid the crowd so we are wanting to go early sept
Salem resident here: Sept is fantastic (Essex heritage days!) Salem is great all summer as well.
They are Canada Geese.
You forgot the show the infamous Witch City Mall bathrooms!
Okay just googled this and wish that I didn’t 😂
Can you explain to why the red line is negative I don’t understand? What is the meaning behind this?
From what we've read online, the line was due for a re-painting and the town took the opportunity to recognise that the term "red line" had a negative connotation, as redlining used to be a discriminatory practice that denied financial services based on things like race, ethnicity or demographic. So it's now been painted as a yellow/gold line!
Woke fake offense.
Salem still has a negative connotation no matter what color you paint the line.
They were Canadian Geese, Not so much a big duck.. and aggressive when they have chicks.
Ahhh geese yes!! That makes much more sense 😄
Had to turn off. Woke lone color BS
Worst video on Salem on the Internet. You don’t even go inside the witch museum? And you share history that you read on the way to Salem from Boston on the train. Give me a break.
We’re travelling for 12 months on a strict budget, so unfortunately we can’t always do every activity in every city. We had read multiple reviews suggesting it wasn’t worth the money so we opted to give it a miss.
Given we change cities every couple of days, it’s literally impossible to know everything about every city before we get there. We didn’t even plan on going to Salem (or Massachusetts for that matter) until literally less than a week before we went. At least we did look it up and still try to educate ourselves. I don’t think the timing of when we looked things up is really important at all.
@@GoForLaunchVideoshey I work at the Salem witch museum! And honestly you were right for skipping it, it’s not worth it. It’s a cool thing to do if you don’t mind spending the money, but it’s definitely over priced.
Ahhhh that makes us feel better!! If we weren't travelling on a budget we would have for sure gone in and checked it out!
