Hi Felicia, For your questions, normally it happens when the bluetooth signal is jammed or blocked by something. Sometimes it's something metal, some walls, or other bluetooth devices. This product is using some simple bluetooth tech, so I would recommend not to put something between this speaker and your phone. If it still happened a lot when you putting it next to your phone, you gotta ask for replacement! I hope this help~

I've worked with Guangdong factories for years in product designing and was shocked by their knockoff ability. However, I don't think they want to knock off this product. It's not too expensive on selling price, but the cost and labor are not low. So, they won't get enough profit margin from knocking off this product. Also, if you bought from a warranted channel, I don't think there's anything to worry about~ I hope you enjoy this product~
