    Bronzetti hits the ball, counts to five, starts to scream aaaahhhh for no apparent reason (unless to distract her opponent I suspect) she finishes shouting as her opponent returns the ball and yet no one tells her to stop!

      @michaelbpunkt7084 21 день тому +17

      True but at least she managed to play the last hit without to scream...and went down in silence 😅 #annoying

      Players who do this need to be warned, and if they continue, penalized. That goes for everyone's darling Alcaraz as well.
      It's hilarious that when it's a REAL grunt, they do it at the moment they swing the racket. When it's a fake, strategic grunt, they wait until their opponent is tracking the ball or about to hit.
      It's becoming more and more normal to use this garbage tactic. And I hate it.

    I've subscribed and really appreciate these highlights. But, a few words of advice: Most viewers are probably present or former competitive tennis players or serious fans. What we want to know is how a close match like this was won or lost. We don't need to see the longest points, or the slo-mo replay.
    If you only have 3 minutes of highlights per match, then please just show the successful break points and the last four points of a tie-breaker (if any). If there is a deciding-set tie breaker, then just show that in entirety and skip the previous content. Thanks again.

    I thought i had seen it all as far as weird grunts and shrinks are considered. Then came Bronzetti to teach me humility of not assuming to know it all. I checked my connection and updates for youtube thinking that there is some lag in the video 😂 Her shrink is in 21st century whereas her ball contact is over about the same time Paris was established a couple of millennia ago.
    Common sense has left the tennis organisers if this is not deemed a hindrance. They might as well allow trumpets inside the courts, so that spectators can blow it whenever the player they don't fancy is about to hit the ball

      Late grunt is not a hindrance! It is absolutely normal. Did you ever play a sport for yourself?!
      Some players just hold their breath as they hit the ball, then release their lungs after hitting. Nadal and many more players do the same thing and this is not annoying. This is part of the game for a hundred years.
      Maybe, y'all watching a wrong sport. Watching snooker or chess might be a good choice for your gentle "eardrums" !

      @@enginduzu My problem is not so much as with late grunt as with malafide grunts. Should have been more clear. This definitely is a hindrance. Most of the time she was letting out the grunts way after it's done if one is just doing it out of habit or for power generation. Sometimes she was shrinking while moving in anticipation for the next return. Sometimes while sending back looping returns. All those are clear red flags that the player is doing this with the sole intention of disturbing their opponents rhythm. Watch the whole match and then comment. I don't have soft eardrums. Had heard formula one races when the engines used to roar like bloody rockets. So my eardrums are fine. Thank you very much

    Osaka will probably struggle all the way until the US Open if not until next year... She needs to add more variety in her game if she wants to compete again for Slams, seems like she is too predictable now...

    Bronzetti is so working that late grunt on her strokes. I think she intentionally tries to rattle her opponent's rhythm by grunting after that ball crosses the net. Sharapova was another one that weaponized her grunts in the same way. Can't stand to watch her play too.

    I didn't like the way Serena Williams handled the hindrance call in the 2011 US Open final against Stosur, but in the light of that situation, Bronzetti should have been disqualified and probably arrested after the first ball exchange here.

    If she play like this with no strategy against Swiatek next round and just keep bashing the ball instead, she has no chance. Swiatek will win in 2 no doubt.

      Naomi needs to be as aggressive on return as possible and attack Swaitek’s serve. It’s the weakest parts of her game. Osaka’s serve needs to be on fire as well. She needs to hold serve and break Iga once but that’s so hard on clay which is Iga’s best surface. Iga will bait Osaka into the long rallies and it’s game over after that
