One of the things i like about this game's plot is that, while the government is obviously corrupt and needs to be stopped, Vlad isn't exactly the most virtuous of people either. His goals are noble, sure, but he also seemed to be pretty fine with his friends drug abuse and the rewriting of history when it served to help the revoluion. Would definatelly want to see this expanded upon if there's ever an sequel.
So in other words Vlad is your modern leftist; a power hungry hypocrite who takes advantage of people's need for better living standards by perverting liberal idology and weaponising their fear and desperation. Cool.

Hey, people asked, so I delivered! Should have delivered sooner based on how many people have watched this! Lol. Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate it! :)
I once saw a cool theory on the Hotline Miami Reddit that Mother Russia Bleeds and Hotline Miami could share the same universe: In Mother Russia Bleeds, the Bratva practically run the country, having many Bratva members in high seats of power within the Russian government. The Bratva is big enough to, say, be the biggest crime syndicate in Miami, containing hundreds of members and armed with military-issue Russian firepower. The second point is the bombing of San Francisco. No matter how you look at it, there's no way the nuking of a major U.S. city would end in a peace act rather than a complete nuclear war. Unless the Russian government didn't do it. The bombing occurs on April 3rd, 1986, a little over 2 weeks after the March 22nd, 1986 Revolution in which Russia's Bratva-controlled government was overthrown, and replaced by Vlad's pacifist ideals. Russia has missile silos all over the country, and in 2 weeks is hardly enough time to completely purge Russia's corrupt government. I think the bombing of San Francisco was a last-ditch effort by remnants of the Bratva-controlled regime to bring the United States in to destroy the new government so the Bratva could return from the ashes. Of course, the American government recognizes the missile was rogue and instead forms a peace treaty with the Russians. After all, who would sign a peace treaty with a nation that has just captured one of your states and nuked one of your cities? Regardless, the American populace still sees Russians as Russians, and sees this as a surrender to Russia, causing extreme anti-Russian sentiment and eventually, 50 Blessings. The third and weakest point is Nekro. The final levels to both Mother Russia Bleeds and Hotline Miami are very similar, both protagonists experience a drug overdose and go on a hallucinogenic rampage against horrific creatures, while in reality they're just slaughtering everything around them. This is obviously the weakest point because Nekro is injected, not ingested, and Nekro production stops after the March 22 Revolution. It could be Nekro made by the Russian mob, or a different drug entirely.
I'm going to make a video on this and the major points pretty much cover everything you said (plus some circumstantial stuff like Son and the Bratva both having an aquarium with a Shark in it). I think it would be fun to make and think about and hopefully people enjoy watching it! Lol. Thanks for sharing those thoughts! And thanks for watching! :)
Thanks a lot, man. I do my best, so I'm happy to hear it shows! And thank you for the well wishes! We'll see what the future holds! I can tell you a year ago, I didn't expect to find myself where I am today! Just have to keep going though.
As a Russian the way you pronounce the names is kinda wrong, but all your summaries so far have been amazing. Also Nekro kinda reminds me of Joy (Lisa the Painful).
There's one thing you can count on in my videos: I will probably pronounce something wrong somewhere that's going to annoy a lot of people. Lol. I'm for the mispronunciations! Hopefully they weren't too bad!

@@velocilevon Some dumb shit about Catholicism, or something. Hell (Pun intended), I could theoretically make a weird mod like that, since I have the game on steam.
@@SquatchGamingChannel Always a pleasure. Thanks for covering so many underrated indie games. We seem to share similar tastes in that regard. If you're taking any suggestions for your next storyline breakdown, I'd recommend Jet Lancer.
As a Romani person this is one of the few games that represents us well. The characters are well written and the devs didn't cop out with some BS stereotypes.
If there's one thing that I'm still wondering who was that skeleton entity. Maybe the entity was the Nekro itself, maybe it was some drug dealer that uses his own blood to make and become Nekro. One thing for sure the Nekro boss itself will always be a mystery to me.
It's a metaphor, perpetuated in several little scenes throughout the game. Early on, when you get administered Nekro for the first time, you just see a bleeding, beating heart, with the beginning form of Nekro at the bottom right. As you progress through the story and continue to take Nekro, as well as see how it has overtaken the populace, it grows. Near the end, he sits atop the heart, overlooking you like a smug ruler, all the while heart still bleeds. In a somewhat simple explanation, the heart is Mother Russia; She bleeds, sickened and damaged by the corruption of the government, weakened and imbalanced by the poverty in contrast to the rich (hence the game's title). Nekro is the very corruption that's killing Russia, brought out by the corrupt president, and grows on you as you progress through the story, so at the end it becomes clear that it has nestled itself onto the dying country itself. In a sense, you could say that the president himself is the Nekro boss, as is indicated by his corpse being strung up after the fight, along with Nekro dying as he dies. The president is gone, Nekro has been vanquished, the corruption has been stopped. Mother Russia can now heal.
@@maestrotau1194 that is amazing, I have not thought of it like that. Like at all, don't know how I miss that so easily. Still that details you have spoken was so exact of the story. Not to mention the final boss is so cool to fight.

@@SquatchGamingChannel I recently played a game called "Intravenous" it came out in june I think. The story isn't that crazy but the gameplay is awesome. Another game I played is Cruelty Squad ... if you haven't played it or seen any videos on it, it's something else...
Has it ever occurred to anyone how odd nekro is (more specifically the collection of it). The entire game, we’ve basically been injecting either blood or vomit into our bloodstream, and nekro seems to take over the body or something, since certain enemies are green, being described as “being full of nekro!”, implying that it’s so potent that even diluted by blood, it can be used. This also makes me wonder how it’s like when raw, unless they’re collecting the actual thing and not just contaminated samples.
Glad to see someone covering the game. And oh boi, both endings are quite depressing- you either od on nekro or get thrown into a cycle of revolution and usurpation of power, becoming a heroes who litterally didn't ask for the place.

nah
Cool theory, but I don't know if it's true.
I legit didnt know this was a game, I just listened to the music.
I'm so glad your channel exists
You should remind people to subscribe!
Squatch, your content is always amazing! Hope things go well for the future of your videos and your personal life.
@@SquatchGamingChannel Nahhh. I'm fine with them.
Thank you so much for covering the story of this game. I always felt like this game gets overlooked so much as well as the music artist who composed the soundtrack.
Thanks so much for watching! If people weren't watching these videos or requesting games like this, they wouldn't be made! :)
Yeah, Fixions did a really good job with the soundtrack. All the tracks really are super good. I like em a lot!
@@SquatchGamingChannel As for Fixions' work, I highly recommend giving his album, "Invisible Walls" a listen. You should check it out some time and it would be something new to add to your music playlist
Yeah the music is beyond underrated despite it being mostly loops
Finally! This gem deserves more attention!
Sorry about the wait! Hope you enjoyed though! Thanks so much for watching!
I knew after watching and re watching the holiness Miami one that you'd cover this evertually.
Lots of people recommended/requested it. I didn't think many people would watch it, but it turns out they would! Lol. Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
*holiness miami*
@@gregoryderpwrld111 Sounds like a cursed map mod. Can't quite put my mind on what kind of stuff would be there though...
@@velocilevon Some dumb shit about Catholicism, or something.
Hell (Pun intended), I could theoretically make a weird mod like that, since I have the game on steam.
Cool video, haven't heard anyone talking of Mother Russia Bleeds in many years.
Thanks a lot! The game's really fun and I wish I could have played it with friends. I bet it's a blast then!
Thanks for watching!
I like to think that Hotline Miami and Mother Russia Bleeds are part of the same universe
Nekro seems to basically be both steroids, amphetamines *and* krokodil at once lol
I love the little Hotline Miami reference.
I had to include in there somehow. Lol.
Thanks for watching!
@@SquatchGamingChannel Always a pleasure. Thanks for covering so many underrated indie games. We seem to share similar tastes in that regard. If you're taking any suggestions for your next storyline breakdown, I'd recommend Jet Lancer.
dude. i don't know how i missed this, i am so happy this exists
“YOU KNOW WHO ELSE’S MOM BLEEDS?”-muscle man 1986
This game's ost slapped soo hard i still listen to it to this days i mean the Helmets drop is just nuts
This sounds like a podcast
@@gearexhaust3129 I get that, it's easy to miss the meaning of things when your only imperative is to bash in skulls ;p

This channel will blow up someday. Keep up the great work.
I've got a friend that says, "You grind and work your ass off for 10 years to blow up overnight!"
It's been 4 years since I've really started growing, but it'll be 8 years that I started making videos in January. Sounds like I still have some time to go. Lol.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, man! And thanks for watching! :)
Glad this game’s getting covered, but damn you made it sound way easier than it actually is lol
Why u said its alternative Russia? See no difference fr
23:19 Haha that’s a nice easter egg 😆 Love Hotline Miami
Had to get it in there somehow! ;)
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed!
I don't know how you do it, maybe you have a camera in my house or something, but you always manage to do videos on weird indi games I played. Good video
Nah, nothing like that! I'm sure it's all circumstantial! Lol.
But just out of curiosity, what have you been playing? I don't have a firm idea of what to do next year yet. Lol.
@@SquatchGamingChannel I recently played a game called "Intravenous" it came out in june I think. The story isn't that crazy but the gameplay is awesome. Another game I played is Cruelty Squad ... if you haven't played it or seen any videos on it, it's something else...
Loved the Fans from Hotline reference at 23:19 just kicking back watching the violence.
I was obsessed with this game when it came out
Well hopefully I did it justice in your eyes! Thanks so much for watching! :)
Also Ivan literally rewrites history if you think about it
By Ivan you mean Vlad right?
23:19 in the background you could see some characters from Hotline Miami
Wanted to get it in somehow! Lol.
Thanks for watching!
I really like how i keep coming back to ur channel eversince you made the hotline miami story summary, keep it up man
Alright this video has me subscribed.
Your voice is consistently able to keep me engaged and time has flown during this video.
Wish you played this game with some friends! It would've been a worthy investment.
Now I just need you to dip your toes in long format game reviews because that's my favorite kinda content even if it means I'll have to wait months between vids!
Awesome to hear, man! Thanks so much! I'm still trying to fine tune things with regards to recording, but it sounds like I'm on the right track! Lol.
It's not that I don't have friends, they just don't come over to play games very much anymore. Lol.
I've thought about doing reviews before, but have never followed through on the thought. Maybe in the future. We'll see. I never say never!
Thanks so much for watching!
I was waiting for this! This is awesome
Sorry about the wait! Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for watching! :)
@@SquatchGamingChannel 38:29 lmao that was probably an error the creators just put the wrong date
Also I thought that bratva and Russian mafia basically mean the same thing?
And I guess this is just a theory I had but I always thought that the drug Son uses in hotline Miami is an evolved form of Nekro which over the years they managed to make better after their loss in the war in Russia leading to them bringing their operations to Miami
I first thought that Mikhail was the Butcher when I fought him the first time but then realised he wasn’t after they said he slipped away, thought it was funny he just turned into him
By the way, the USSR leader kinda looks like Mikhail Gorbachev
Ya should just go through the whole Devolver Digital library at this point lol
I mean, if that's what people want to see... Lol.
Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
For all Russian people this story, this game is special. Yes, its made by french guys, but it cathes mood, it show places almost perfect. And our country is ill. Corruption and poverty is still choke our country. Guys dont fear us. They trying to make us enemies. Thank you for your video. It hit right the spot.
you should do more of these for more underrated gems . Great video .

Holy shit I love this game, thanks for covering it
Can you make a story summary for Hotline Miami 2 editor level the Hunter series? The story is so awesome you should cover it some time in the future
So the creator of the Series, THELEGOMack, is actually making a Full Chronology of the series. He's had some tech troubles, so it's been delayed a bit, but it should be coming out eventually!
@@SquatchGamingChannel nice

THE ENTIRE WHOLE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad I syringe the living hell out of my character when I passed this game
It's funny and ironic that the developer's next game is the complete opposite of their first title, not just in terms genre, art-style, and graphics, but in terms of tone.
