@@11Moe: Biotics got massively nerfed in ME2 because they were all forced to share a timer AND you can't rag-doll enemies with their shields up any more. At least in this game you could just cycle through all your biotics one after another and the first ones would be recharged once you're halfway through, assuming an optimal build. Plus shielding offered absolutely no defense against biotic ragdolling shenanigans. It is quite easy to go through ME1 using nothing but biotics 95% of the time... well... probably not right at the start at level 1, but it picks up pretty quickly if you focus everything on min-maxing two powers.

In a no-shooting run of course that's when you'd use them but it makes every fight a slog. ME3 only gives some of those properties to enemies. So a Cannibal would be vulnerable to Throw or Singularity but a Marauder requires you to remove the shields first. @@deusexludos8129 That's because Mass Effect 2 has the jankest cover system out of all 3 games. So many times in ME2 you try and crouch behind cover and Shepard just leans against it standing up, exposing his entire back to the enemies and you just instantly die. After playing through all 3 games again on the Legendary version, I realized ME2 actually as the worst gameplay of the 3 games imo. Jankness, squadmates only have 3 powers, Shepard only has 5 powers, you're locked out of certain gun types depending on class. In ME1 legendary edition they let you use all guns as all classes, ME2 really needed that too. But the legendary edition was halfbaked, the fact that the ME1 final boss crash still happens is insane, that was literally a bug in the OG game and they never fixed it.
Honestly, 2 and 3 get much easier, cause tech and biotics got some big boosts. 2 as an Engineer or 3 as a Vanguard would make this challenge trivial (alternative for 3: let Garrus ascend into godhood and just watch the new main character murder everything)

I wish I knew you were doing this as I have a tip that could have saved you hours on the rogue vi mission. Each generator you destroy increases the difficulty of the drones and barriers for the others. You also get difficulty increases each time you pass the first corridor. To massively decrease the pain of this mission, enter each building, clear all enemies in the first room but DO NOT proceed past the BENT hallway, then clear the other two first rooms. Only then do you come back and do the later rooms. This way the barriers won’t affect the largest fights and the bandage boost will be far less threatening on enemies remaining. For those who haven’t done this yet, you’re welcome.
Ah man, I definitely had some PTSD-induced flashbacks with this video. The difficulty scaling is all over the place in ME1. After multiple playthroughs, I believe it to be a combination of higher enemy levels or stats in side missions, coupled with crappy equipment in the early game. Prior to a certain point in the game, every gun feels like a BB gun, armor is paper thin with shields that are barely thicker than a fart, and equipment mods offer garbage bonuses. I'm not sure if loot drops are tied to your main story progression or what, but it always felt like it wasn't until the 2nd or 3rd story world that my equipment was finally worth a damn. Not to mention the annoying as hell sniper and rocket enemies that are prevalent in this game. I am sooooo glad they removed Geth snipers and Stalkers from the later games.
loot is tied to your level except for the specter weapons start at rank of 7. I don't remember what the level is for each rank but they max out at rank 10 at lv 50. Equipment mods are actually a bit broken in mass effect. A high level Frictionless materials mod will prevent all heat build up letting you fire infinite rounds without any heat build up. Poison rounds disable the health regen of krogans and turians. As long as one party member has an environmental suit mod the party can stand inlv 2 hazards without taking damage. As long as someone in the party has a scanning mod you're radar can't be jammed. Mass effect guns have a hidden chance to hit. That's why it seems like guns do so little damage early game. This chance to hit was increased by a lot in legendary edition which is why the early game is a lot easier in legendary edition.

I think Many a True Nerd was only playing on Veteran when he did the original Mass Effect no guns. Adapt is actually really good on insanity because enemies pushed out of bounds die instantly. Bastion is broken because it lets you deal damage to enemies in stasis. The lack of shields doesn't mater because a sniper or rocket would have one shotted you anyway and krogan headbutts bypass your shield entirely. It's also easier on the legendary edition because you level up faster and earn skill points sooner than originally intended. They changed exp gain so you will reach lv 60 if you do most of the stuff in the game. Originally you were capped to lv 50 on the first playthrough and even with all the bonus exp achievements you could only reach around lv 55 on your first playthrough. Also the player was given a large hidden bonus chance to hit and you can now scope with sniper riffles without being trained in the skill. Not relevant for this run but it still makes the game easier in a normal run.

I didn't have any trouble on Insanity when I played, and I was Adept with Electronics bonus, so I didn't shoot much. Could probably have done it without shooting at all quite easily. And not just me either, since I went through most of it with Kaiden and Liara so I had everyone's powers at my disposal. The real trick is getting enemies out of bounds: usually by making them float and then just casually pushing them over a void... or... just shooting them into the sky. It is worth noting though that it was NG+ so I was already high level when I started. Which is to say I started on Insanity being able to yeet any enemy smaller than a Thresher Maw into orbit. In fact Thresher Maws were the only things I consistently used guns on... and I hunted all of them down. Every single one.

I drive a truck for a living and you play video games probably the most painful way possible for a living. I think I'm getting the better end of the deal here xD
Alternative way to play this would have been fully relying on party members and like going engineer to heal them better, but late game adept is technically better I suppose given ME1's biotics. Another way if you were gonna be trying to melee would have been playing Soldier and speccing for melee and getting armor mods that helped with that, but I dunno how long that would hold up actually. But like, this really boils down to just like pumping a combat party member like Garrus, Wrex or Ashley's gun skills up and just sending them in and letting them carry. Also like, the best strat would have been fully manual control on party member powers too.
