in less than 4 min I learned more than I had when searching other videos for hours, wish you could have danced to music at the end to put it all together
Glad you enjoyed it. These days, I recommend just treating that fwd/back "basic" as just as exercise so you can remove it from your dance vocabulary sooner than later. It's stunted students' dance growth.
Awesome. I'm not sure what Lindy Hop is near you, but there are beginner online courses here: www.ilindy.tv/?via=kennydelilah and you could reach out to our OC friends at Atomic Ballroom to see if they know anyone in your area.
I love this video. It’s the best I’ve ever seen. I just heard of lindy. Watching you, I’m obsessed. Can’t wait to practice. You’re amazing. Apparently, there is a group near that lindy. So I’ll practice before I go in.
awesome, I'm happy you really like. A quick word of caution, please don't practice that forward and back thing too often. It's good as a rhythm drill, but it's had the side effect of stunting people's lindy hop growth. One of the reasons is because of all the changes in direction. It kind of goes against lindy hop's natural momentum, so I have some regrets teaching it so often in the past.
God I want to learn this so bad. But my husband doesn't like to dance and he has zero rhythm so its frustrating. No one where I live is into doing anything ever. At all. I love this so much.
fwd/back basic follower's popout footwork follower's turn footwork leader's circle/swingout footwork demo together, adding in promenades circle - full and half plus an outside turn break with improv charleston (side by side) slide, kick crosses transitions dip
Very good video, very helpful. Only one little thing. It's a shame you didn't start with each one on the correct side. The first steps the girl is on the left, then you switch sides. But very good!!!
Jeezuss! Was the camera operator having a seizure?! Or were they trying to do the steps along with the instructors? It's hard enough to learn a step when the camera ISN'T moving.
If you're looking for a steady cam experience, I'd recommend searching tutorials or going to iLindy. Avoid recaps and don't do that fwd/bk step we teach in the beginning
Something slower like a breakdown of all the steps would be great, thanks! I just went to a free Lindy hop workshop for beginners last night and I coudn't and still can't get the basic footwork right especially the backwards triple step. Either I'm too slow or I'm just really uncoordinated (or both). -_-
Some options would be to slow down the beginning of this video (ua-cam.com/video/a5nWPQyK0YA/v-deo.html) by hitting the gear button on the video or checking out this video dedicated to footwork (ua-cam.com/video/LT2z8tGaW04/v-deo.html) and also slowing it down.

Well, thank you. We were trying to keep the video as tight and efficient as possible. Glad you learned a lot!
I totally agree! Thanks, guys!!
I agee because they danced and were pointing what is necessary instead of talking a lot and literally not dancing.
Excellent!
This is incredible! So efficient, so clear, and so thorough!

May I ask where you live? We have connections all over the world and could try connecting you with a swing scene.
Go by yourself. Lots do. Many need a partner. It's a friendly scene. Your hubs may be willing take an occasional basic class.
@@swingindenver how about wasilla Alaska? 😂

I like very much this video because it shows the main dancing figures. Is it possible to add a written list of the shown figures?
fwd/back basic
follower's popout footwork
follower's turn footwork
leader's circle/swingout footwork
demo together, adding in promenades
circle - full and half
plus an outside turn
break with improv
charleston (side by side)
slide, kick crosses
transitions

I started doing this alone in school during recess. 3 minutes later i got my ass kicked.
Well, that sounds terrible!
Don't worry, it still pays off.
I’m sorry to hear that :(
Don't stop dancing, mate.
