Congratulations on the 405. What's your next target 450 ? Sometimes I think we put limits on ourselves because of age, but over the last year or so I've seen several older gentlemen putting up numbers that are totally inspiring to me.
Just did my 1st powerlifting meet @53 yrs old in May hit 374lbs on bench , hit 318 dead & messed up squat max was 278 total 965 . Luv to see other people my age and older powerlifting.. Great squat keep it up ... ~Stay Strong ~ Moose
That is one awesome bench Moose. My squats and deadlifts are just starting to come up. Had a couple injuries last year, so I decided to restructure both by going wider. My physical therapist says a wide stance is better than a narrow one, so for once I’m trying to be a good patient. Keep up the good training sir.
New subscriber, I’m 58 training for my first meet, I’m trying to reach certain weights before I compete. I lost 30lbs in weight, went from 375 to 345. And I’m trying to see if I can get back, 365, 400, and 400 at my current weight.
First of all congratulations for the weight loss and welcome to the channel. I have a meet coming up June 2 in Arizona which I certainly don't expect to win but I'm going to have fun with it. Great group of guys and very helpful. Competing can be fun and that's where many now attempt to set new PR's I power lifted in my early 30's, but not again until a little over a year ago, so now I call my new PR's...my over 60's PR's. lol Train hard, stay healthy and good luck with your training and goals.
I only train 4 days per week. I used to train 6 but was dreading going to the gym and my body was fatigued all the time. I train Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday. This way I train 2 days then get a day off then 2 more and 2 days off. My body recovers much better with this routine.
Great work Steven! Good spotter too!
Thank you Tom. Wishing you an awesome training week.
Great job Sir!! This year at 57 I squatted 405 for the first time in my life. Nice goal to have. Even nicer to accomplish. Keep up the good work!

Your shirt should say epic beard and fitness!
Welcome aboard and thank for adding humor to my day.
How many days are you training per week now?

@@fitman046e Sounds good. I'm searching for a new program myself, 3-4 days per week.
