We won't get rid of the HST 0n power bills like promised either right but maybe a temporary rebate will suffice ONE BIG PROMISE BROKEN !!! EH NEW BRUNSWICK
Team work. Don't depend too, much for the U S. Our laws are too lenient. We have to pitch in too.
Pitch in to what, exactly?
I'm convinced that the way Canada works is that every premier and the federal government do whatever they want.
Lower prices at the gas pumps for Canadians instead of the USA
That would be the case if US starts buying oil from somewhere else. Then Canadians would have surplus gas for themselves
American make your own electricity , invest in your own nation, generate jobs and wealth locally
We do generate our own electricity. Take a wild guess where Canadian Oil gets refined?
Canada can help the U.S. reduce its trade deficit with Canada by cutting exports of electricity and oil. Trump should be thanking Ford.
Are you willing to risk a canadian economic collapse for a few US states getting no power?
New Brunswick. The economic engine of Canada. You stand tall, Suzie!
😅
Continue to supply the energy, but charge them a lot lot more.
How about buying oil from oil producing provinces like Alberta instead of other countries. There is absolutely no reason that we cannot become energy self sufficient.
Quebec blocked Energy East. Funny part is that we haven't heard about it since the NDP (Notley) ran Alberta, and Liberal's (Wynne) Ontario too.
@@JBrix86 Yeah cause Energy East was one of the worst ideas ever. It would have messed up drinking water for Quebecers and evidently most of the product would have ended up being exported overseas. this has been proven
With a 25% tariff on Canadian electricity entering the US, they will no longer be competitive with US electricity companies and the utility companies will be buying US natural gas generated electricity. Ford will have to lower his prices 25% and eat the tariff to continue selling electricity here.
Well that’s an option. But take a wild guess where Canadian oil gets refined.

Who gives a crap about what New Brunswick says?
There are three provinces that actually generate income for the rest of Canada…
They are Ontario British Columbia and Alberta.
The earn enough money to distribute it to the rest of the provinces that can’t keep their own crap together.
New Brunswick, is run by a couple of families, and the Irving family does very well imported energy from overseas..
Why the media would focus on New Brunswick is beyond me.
This comes down to trade between three provinces and multiple US states. So let’s let the adults in the room deal with this.
Huh? New Brunswick is Lumber, wake up
Not very bright, are you...
You are a Moro?
We all have a f'ing say. We are all CANADIANS or did you forget that this is still a DEMOCRACY!?!
@
What does that have to do with the provinces and trade with the states?
Our companies in Ontario Alberta and British Columbia don’t require federal permission to do business with US states.
Fix the problem, Trump didn't say He will cut de Import from Canada, You could raise the electric Tarif 25%, don't close the door; however, the best is Fix the border problem, is a mess, fix the problem, it is all that Trump wants al lest till Today.
The border problem is from Mexico, not Canada. Also, the border issues are largely a result of bad US foreign policy of destabilizing foreign governments.
And Trump will want something else in 6 months time.Give your head a shake
Business is business when it comes to Canada/Us partnership. We are the same people no matter if you don't agree. A Canadian citizen can travel all over the US and never have a problem fitting in. You can't tell us apart and if you don't agree it's because you are a out sider. Immigration is a problem for both countries.
Canada tariffs threat wouldn't put a dent on our economy compared what we can do to canada... we got 27 trillions dollars economy compared to canada 2.7 trillions economy so do the math canada....
Just fix the Border
Trump is trying to shake Canada down for money. Trump is exaggerating the problem to justify his attack on Canada.
I say let it all happen and see which Country collapses first then go back to the comments made from both Countries and see which one it actually hurt most by being "tough".
I think Trump will cut the Canadian oil first and start his drill baby drill right away
If he does that, he will collapse the canadian economy. I don't think he will go that far
If we hsd a refinery in Canada, we could have gas as cheap as the States... 😢
Stop saying border...hes given 2 other reasons since. It was not about the border. Border, than he said trade deficit now that US is subsiding Canada.
Boycott American goods. I'll buy Canadian products first.
Lmao that company they showed is a american company😂😂😂😂 premiers are idiots pay security...
Its always interesting how countries respond to negative actions by making more negative actions of their own, instead of offering some trade deals or options?
Maybe instead of poking the bear they should try making some good trade deals....
Lol if Ontario cuts off energy to the US, money wont come in Ontario, dumb, dumb
Haha, guess we'll see
As long as there is a liberal or NDP in government things are not going to go well because most citizens are living paycheck to paycheck.

Cancel all contracts with the usa they get our resources for a huge discount .Canada would /could do a lot better selling to another country at a fair price and they would appreciate it and with no disrespect!
Then you should do it
Doug what do you stand to lose getting into this trade war? You have a lot of lose if you do not learn how to play nice Canadians will suffer. Danielle Smith from Alberta is looking out for her province first you should do likewise
Don't fool yourself! This is not a game! Threatening our people & our economy will not be taken lightly. Trump may think he can divide & conquer the provinces. The truth is Trump has no jurisdiction in Canada. Because Trump is a convicted felon, Trump requires special permission from our government to enter Canada. Our Canadian government will not kowtow to a foreign dictator trying to weaken our economy by placing unjust tariffs on our goods. In a crisis, Canadians unite.
It’s not complicated. Trump isn’t asking y’all for much. Just take care of your border and move on to sipping your syrup. They talk like he’s asking for the first born daughters of the nation. This is something you should be doing anyway. Smh.
The government should already have the answer to that long time ago it's called being prepared
Good for the newly elected premier of New Brunswick.
Reference: Keb Mo “put a woman in charge”. Trumpists seem to have no idea who they’re dealing with. 😖😖😖👍👍👍
Please fight for Canada first! Enough already!
It's simple . Just raise the price of goods 25% to compensate for the tariff . Then it's up to the Americans to purchase them or not . They can have the goods if they want to pay . If not , we are going to sell 25% less to countries that don't charge us 25% tariff .
Canadians will suffer. Not so much us.
The problem needs to be fixed by America. As long as America gives migrants/immigrants free housing, free medical, free food, and a free education the people will keep coming even if Trump is in office. No only that, but the undocumented immigrants were given jobs by American companies.
Canada will send women ministers and Trudeau to negotiate goods and reserves. Hope Canada is not the 51st USA state
in other words we are taking care of our interests ahead of those of the country as a whole.
Weak leaders
Canadian government needs to add a trump tax on all cross border goods and services. Trump international tax. TIT.
Yes and Trump needs to impose a feminist (Trudeau) 25% tariff on all goods going to Canada.
Doug Ford can defend Ontario better then Trudeau can defend Canada.
We will tell trump something he already has been told and doesn't care about. Good job.

Don't personally care about the trade war we've been through hard times before could be worse imagine we got absorbed into America and made both countries into one big mess getting along or not though I couldn't care less at this point.
Americans have been living in a energy crisis since February of 2021 their used to no power every day in California but what if the USA stops shipping all its food to Canada we need food and power here year round with winter
The reality is, this is between Ontario Alberta and British Columbia and quite a few US states.
The feds on both sides will be taking a backseat toward the individual states and provinces want and need.
Don't be silly please. Canada is a strong independent nation with trading partners around the globe. Our new trading partner Indonesia is proof of that. Sure, we enjoy US imports....but we can survive without them better than the US can without Canadian imports. Our 4 major food imports come from USA, China, Japan and Mexico. Canada consumes 70% of the food we produce in Canada, but over 50% of what we produce is exported. So when you do the math...we can survive without the 🍊🤡🖕
