I sometimes have a day when absolutely everything I touch goes wrong..I amcsyre that sometimes you get days like that too..but you guys just seem to smile and get on with it..me I'm more like a grumpy bear till its sorted❤
Ha! Good to see everyone’s getting along. 😅 What an upcoming experience putting on the hangmen will be, but you’re not cutting back on the design you’re adding to it with gutters and strength.
I’m very familiar with having to do several small tasks just to complete one minor task. Today,I need to put my riding mower away for winter so I have to clear out a spot in my shed, build a ramp to the shed, build a saw sled to cut the boards for the ramp, and change the oil in the mower so I can drive it into the shed. Not including the honeydew list.
Brilliant days work lads, missed Brian’s daily joke. Have a great weekend and I hope the weather stays good for you for next week.. sleep well lad K🇬🇧❤️
Good morning team ❤ What a beautiful sight to see her going back together .. Calvin 😂 looks like a escaped convict all dressed in orange …❤❤❤ but we still love yah 😚 Well done guys and boy I’m loving the use of the home grown timber… See you soon 😊
I hope you are able to repair the generator or replace it.. must have a backup. Very challenging work hanging from ropes. No footing for leverage when using tools - just keep pushing yourself away from the walls, takes twice the time to drill a hole. Well Done Everyone!!!
Good to see all back ❤❤❤❤❤Agree with the comment of playing the theme to mission impossible when the guys are on the ropes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Have a great weekend and see ya Monday 😍😘
trying to work up that high is hard enough but to film as well. We are lucky to get two a week. Plus, all the planning they have to do on the fly, miling work that has to be done ahead of time. I can't believe all the work they have gotten done so far.
I hope that wallplate is treated, a lot is going to depend on it staying intact over a lot of years. I would hope it stays mostly dry if protected by the skirt, but it feels like it could still get a lot of exposure in such an elevated position.
Probably is treated? Much of the European softwood lumber (spruce, pine, fir, larch) is treated with a colorless chlorine bleach to protect it from mold, mildew, dry rot and bugs. Treatment is different from the pressure treated products in North America and because it is colorless you can’t see it.
I don't like the tensile load of the weight of the skirt being held in toward the plates by those rather flimsy looking brackets. Look forward to seeing the final solution.
I must be missing something - it looks like the lower part of the hangman will act as a pivot and any weight on the end of the hangman will cause it to pull the brackets off the timber plate fixed to the face of the tower. Are the brackets and screws going to be strong enough or are there other plans for fixing the hangmen to the tower ?
This seems not fine. Not an engineer but bolting a thin piece of wood towards a wall and then hanging the roof on basically the friction of 3cm long nails seems inadequate.
It doesn't take an engineer to see how flawed this is. There are areas in the main frame of this roof that are load bearing which rely entirely on the screws for structure. What is going to happen in 20 years when those screws have rusted out? The whole thing is going to become unstable.
It's a ledger board. Every deck with that's built up to any anything resembling a good code is built the same way. The amount of weight that's going to be on that roof and the amount of force from wind is going to be small enough that that's not going to be a big deal. It's also going to be permanently dry. For the environment that interface is going to be in, it will be just fine.
I'd be happier with the orginal design when it was first built. Seems much better solution, than a few 3cm wood screws, which have an uncanny ability to come loose in exposed places.
Seems to me a reason why there was no guttering on the original turret. Brackets and screws as opposed to morticing a build like this also fires a ping in my radar.. Hmmm! I smell a poisson. 🤔
I see , u guys have become the modern muskateers ! By Stealth,? No more horses, & sworde s . BUT flying dragons, with tools! WHAT? AM I? Goone? call u Now? I have no words? Left!😂❤😊😅
The progress is amazing. The roof is close to be finished soon. What an accomplishment.
I luv the way you explain every stage of the process, Dan! Thanks!🙂

Super exciting seeing it all come together 😃

I love that team. Very lucky to have that friends helping you
Lookin' great, Guys! Dan, Calvin, Brian, Nick, are an awesome team!!!
Great Scott, you guys are amazing.
It’s incredible how TALL that structure is!
It probably won't look quite as tall once the flared roof is on.
That's what she said.
Hanging around a turret and building, really amazing! Breathtaking!
Ha! Good to see everyone’s getting along. 😅

I have almost the exact same list. Good to know I’m not alone. No honeydew.
Brilliant days work lads, missed Brian’s daily joke. Have a great weekend and I hope the weather stays good for you for next week.. sleep well lad K🇬🇧❤️
The “Tom Cruise but with tattoos” when he saw Nick doing his mission impossible slide on the rope, was rather funny from Brian.
Iseki your posts every day team work makes light work.
A along with light humour
Splendid! This is coming along nicely. Glad you added the gutter into the design/redesign - it will make a nice difference. You all are doing great!!!
It just looks better and better!
Good morning team ❤
What a beautiful sight to see her going back together ..

To support the hangman’s piece .

Good morning. ‘ Bad rehearsal, great show’ you are doing so very well!
Nice that you are back.

Good afternoon Odus!
would make a good webcam spot
That lumber, where it connects to the masonry, should be treated lumber. Without being treated, it will not last long.
Probably is treated? Much of the European softwood lumber (spruce, pine, fir, larch) is treated with a colorless chlorine bleach to protect it from mold, mildew, dry rot and bugs. Dan knows what he's doing, for heavens sake!
Good evening!
Good progress, Dan.
Сладких снов. 😊🧚♂️👣

Don’t forget to add a lightening conductor!!
I don't like the tensile load of the weight of the skirt being held in toward the plates by those rather flimsy looking brackets. Look forward to seeing the final solution.
Epic wiv the Iron Maiden shirt
Brian is funny ,he is not a stunt man like Nick is😅. Looking good, Dan and team . Loved watching see yer Monday ❤
Nick is a master Rigger due to his decades of being a tree surgeon.
Fortunately Nick teaches them how to rig.
It’s fabulous. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
I never saw scaffolding wiggle and jiggle like that. 😉
Hi guys!
Wibbly Wobbly Scaffolding
I love it 🏰❤️❤️❤️❤️🛕🫶

I couldn't believe my eyes tbh. Still hoping I'm just not fully understanding it yet.
You mention something other elevating the turret. Not a great need to elevate that turret in the clouds as I see it 😂
It's a ledger board. Every deck with that's built up to any anything resembling a good code is built the same way. Great content as usual. One question though. Bearing in mind the storms and gales that you get there. How come you’ve only battened one roof?
It was Brian's influence to batten Roof#2.
evening all!
I am glad none of you are afraid of heights.
Been waiting sooo long ❤❤❤❤❤
Bonjour boys
The all Bearded crew strikes again.
You guys are magnificent!
Brian just blew his chance to be a stand-in in a special forces movie!!
I'd be happier with the orginal design when it was first built. Seems much better solution, than a few 3cm wood screws, which have an uncanny ability to come loose in exposed places.
I watch your videos every day, but I admit that I have to fast forward thru these segments on the heights.
I sure wish we had that timber equipment here for Hurricane clean up
Orange pants man has now become pumpkin spice.😃😄😁 it is fall y’all 😉
The boys can get special forces jobs when this is over!
Cameras make me dizzy looking 👀 up

Turret Joke of the day: what did the Russian Tank Turret say to its Tank in Ukraine? Dont blow my top....!

Dan and crew, I bet that building a chateau was not something that you expected!
