So weird that when you leave Woody by himself for 30 second you end up finding him in a hyperbaric chamber. You need to get one of those toddler leashes for him. Lol
I think its time for Dive Talk podcast. invite divers, people involved in aquatic activities, legends and explorers of the wilderness, climbers, scientists etc. Y'all are so so compelling and I loved the talks with this guy, so so awesome. like JRE but dive talk
This would be great. I'm in the middle of nowhere without service so I can't watch videos at work even if I wanted to, but podcasts are a different story.
You can see on the guy's face at 5:42 when Woody's insisting about aliens - his smile says "shit, he knows. Just play it off, smile, don''t say anything, just smile"
The look on Gus's face when Woody does something crazy! He's like a dad with a hyper active teenager! Love it! Joe is a riot, didn't understand a word he said lol but want his energy or whatever brand of coffee he drinks! Salute to Joe's service! Great show!
Woody wondering off and Gus finding him laying down in the chamber thing made me burst out laughing 😂 like a toddler who loves wondering off. Love you guys ♥️
As a non diver........I find myself strangely addicted to this channel. Awesome different style video. Joe is a Leg Guy that would be so much fun to hang out with.
Im lowkey obssessed with Joe's opinion... Loved all the gems shared here: Doug is the wise sage straight shooter that knows all the tech terms while Joe's the cool Uncle that knows his stuff and lòoks hella cool talking about it. Great job Gus & Woody!!! P.S Woody wandering off and ending up in a chamber... not really surprised tbh 🤗
Gus is really a professional i feel like. No hate on Woody but Gus is so aware of his production and while not egotistical, he is always trying to shoot and push good content. Even directing the conversation to where the fans would be interested. Good work Gus! Im sure you’ve been a hard worker all your life. Usually that type of person is rare and is brought up by a good family. Gus just isnt that other guy, wouldn’t track muddy shoes and show up empty handed on thanksgiving dinner, type etc. PS i totally believe in underwater aliens
1. I agree completely. Some of us are respectful by default because we were just raised that way, and Gus seems to embody that. 2. There are legitimately, definitely underwater aliens.
I absolutely love when Woody goes on about aliens and Gus tries to calm him down so they don’t lose subscribers or get kicked out haha. Great video. One of my favourite channels by far. You guys are great.
Woody is amazing! He really showed his personality here and asked the questions so many of us would like to ask Joe given the chance. 😆 ps ET have bases under the ocean and have been here way longer than us.
This is so awesome!! As a PhD student, I really loved all the discussion of the research, but man oh man, I needed even more the hilarity of y'all this Monday morning. The beginning with you two just put a smile on my face and I suddenly feel much less exhausted, so thank y'all for that!!!!
Finding more treatments that a chamber will work with will have another positive side effect. More hospitals will have these available to do these treatments which means that there will be more hospitals available with Chambers for when there's a diver with a problem.
Woody, you're an excellent interviewer, and Gus thank you for keeping it on track! The medical stuff was really fascinating but the diving stuff was definitely the real treat! Thank you Dr. Joe and Dr. Doug for your time! It's always a treat to watch your stuff guys!!
Hey Gus and Woody, I'm from Germany and I watch every video of you together with my friends. You guys are absolutely authentic and crazy. Always a pleasure to listen to you! Keep rocking!
I love how much Gus respects everyone and everything. He's just so excited and wants to show everyone how much he values them and their work. Its so sweet. I love seeing these two just learning about things they love. There are absolutely aliens deep underwater. Woody knows.
I will probably NEVER cave dive (much). But the amount of stuff I learn from your channel, and all of the information your guests share, and the criticizms you have for your reaction videos... always teaches me something new, and sets off my 'learning meter' so I go research new things. Thank you guys for doing what you do!
WOW - thanks for this special interview - fascinating! They way Joe presented it was awesome, a very inspiring person! Great chemistry with you guys :)
Best episode by far.....keep the interaction on....Woody seemed to be so overwhelmed but that's so natural. Personality is a veteran and extremely humble. Joe's experience may probably cover many pages so much to take it from. It's really difficult to cover it up in one session. Woody and Gus made it possible. Love from Mumbai, (India). I subscribed this channel just after watching a video on how Yuri lost his life in Dahab's Blue Hole (Egypt). Phenomenal analysis by Woody and Egles Nest cave dive hosted by both. Amazing hosting and great effort on research. Cheers for the future episodes....
Wow! He is such an amazing inspiration. My mouth was dropped the entire time. He has seen more and done more in his life then most and he is not close to being finished. He looks amazing for his age and has such an amazing personality and he has the biggest smile on his face at all times. I really enjoyed this thank you guys for taking us along for this one. I learned alot of big words that I cant remember now but I feel smarter just from listening to this lol. Great job and yes Thank you for your Service!!🇺🇸🌎🎖🌊
What an interesting guest, every time I think you guys have peaked you go ahead and put out something even better. I too will thank him and all the vets that read this for your service!
Ok this was a great listen and shows what divers are truly capable of...Joe is a true mad lad...dive talk you guys are true legends to bring this to us
Man, Joe is a literal super hero 👏 👏 👏 what an amazing human being. Super relaxed and he seems so down to earth with what he has accomplished in his life. I couldn't detect any Ego at all whatsoever. That's the kind of human I wish to aspire to be. Just humble, genuine and full of love for life! Wow! Bravo Divetalk!! Thanks for this amazing interview! Also Dr. Doug aswell was awesome too, showing that hyperbaric chamber and the "assistant?"(forgive me) also talking to woody and explaing how it works. This has to be one of my favorites from all Divetalk videos for real!! High fives all the way around! *Sidenote: I'm not even a diver and you fellas have my curiosity so peaked!it is amazing what Gus and Woody do aswell as the interviews which is icing on the cake. Love to channel Boys, always stay safe please 🙏
Wow, that was an awesome vid. It was over 38 minutes and it went by like a flash! It's amazing the guests that you have on your show. Like Joe I remember those signs, Norfolk, "All Dogs and Sailors Keep of the grass. I had a buddy take a picture of me laying on the grass next to the sign..... Doctor Dituri is a treasure to the world of undersea safety and exploration. Great job guys, I've watched the video twice and will watch it again. It was like trying to get a drink of water from a fire hose, so much good information..
As I keep saying on nearly every post, I’m not a diver but I love learning new things and this is a great channel for doing so. I’m a paramedic but it’s really interesting to learn some of the science around the depths and impact on the human body. You’ve obviously had to learn a lot about human physiology and you’re both ‘on the ball’ with it. Keep up the good work, Woody and Gus.
I have mild Submchanophobia and fear of waves but something about diving fascinates me and I am loving this channel to bits. You guys are so passionate, professional and entertaining. I have already saved this vid to my watch later list!
Yaaaay!! This was some cool information!! And it was great to see Doug involved too, which was a great idea with his medical input. 😀 awesome job you guys and Gus you know Woody always gets you into the most fun situations. When do we get to hear some of Doug's diving stories. Joe thank you for your service!! And you're welcome!! 🤙🏼
He's like the real like Chuck Norris, just kicking lifes ass! 22 yrs in nursing & also have Crohn's & hyperbaric treatment is groundbreaking for patients with countless diagnoses including cardiac patients! Mad respect for this man & his staff.👊 Great interview, thanks @Dive Talk!
Such a wonderful and positive interview and very interesting. The video ended and I was wanting more time hearing that guy stories. A follow up interview would be awesome someday.
WOW! An amazing video. Woody, you are my kinda nutty... Dr. Joe and Dr. Doug were amazing. Awesome things to look forward to from Dr. Joe... Thank you, guys, so much for your awesome videos. Just started watching your videos, but going through the list...
I love this video. I dropped out of school in Poland because I was doing poorly and migrated to the UK. Here, I rediscovered my passion for sciences and did exceptionally well. I had ups and downs (I wanted to join the RAF but unfortunately didn't get there either), but I discovered scuba diving this year. Since I was a kid, I wanted to learn to fly, but I realised scuba would do fine; it is just a different medium. I fell into it instantly. I also enjoy physiology. Thank you for doing these videos. It means so much to me. And you make it fun.
Favorite comment from Joe: "Every dive we did in the suit, we also did a drill". I LOVE THIS. As an software engineer, and a martial artist, and a musician... and diver... it is a mantra to me. Always.... Be... Training... Every time I dive, I practice skills. Especially those skills that you rarely would use (sharing oxygen for instance, or equipment failure) Love this guy!!
I know a few navy divers and they always impress the heck out of me. They're so humble in their skill set and usually pretty awesome people. I've seen those atmospheric suits too. They're really cool. Not that I'd ever want to be in one.
My Goodness the people you guys hang out with is amazing! This is my "one" of the 'pick three people in history to have dinner with'! The man!! Joe the master!!
I have Crohns disease and I have never heard of this experimental treatment really cool they're putting in the effort to help out the colitis/crohns community. my medicine is 9k USD per 8 week dose looking forward to a future with more ways to achieve remission. Thanks Joe and Doug
The biomedical information was amazing! I understood almost everything they were talking about and the way it was explained I got more than the jist of it all. The information on epithelial changes was so good. My other interest in medicine at low oxygen environments such as Everest and confined spaces, so so much of what they are studying is relatable. Fantastic vid, so glad you went, and I agree, we need a “Lost Woody” shirt. I’d pay for that.
What a video! I'm going back to school to become an engineer and honestly feel worried I won't be smart enough. His attitude is exactly what I need to keep in mind in my doubt. These people are doing such good work.
I'm located in Seattle, had a PFO, and was denied my AOW training physical by my GP. While Googling, I found a paper that Dr. Ebersole wrote on Diver PFO related issues. I called him, and he was kind enough to talk to me about my condition, and the surgery involved. I took this information back to my GP, who got me in touch with a local Cardiologist and Surgeon who performed the closure procedure, suggested by Dr. Ebersole! Dr. Ebersole is a D.A.N. Consultant and avid diver! I owe my continued diving to Dr. Ebersole. Awesome person! I'm excited to see him in this video!!
Thank you @DIVE TALK my father became extremely ill over the course of just a couple months and was diagnosed with crones/ulcerative colitis (they are doing more tests to determine exactly which), im going to try to look into Joe and the Facility. This might be what he needs, so again thank you so much.
I have a friend who drowned when he was two and it basically reset his brain. He had to learn to walk, speak and eat all over again. This stunted his mental abilities and his parents have been seeking out hyperbaric treatments as a possible way to essentially wake up parts of his brain. I’ll definitely look into these guys and see what they know. Great video!!
OH EM GEE!! yall are in tampa??? started watching yall like 5 days ago and you guys have got me SERIOUSLY interested in doing this. The vent in Lithia springs ALWAYS peaked my curiosity and then I went scuba diving 1 time in the 6th grade in a swimming pool and LOVED it. i feel like im a small man for a reason
Wow. What an honor. I've been privileged to work with some super smart people in the oil and gas business... At Halliburton we had some of the smartest Geophysical Engineers with and without PHds... And I miss the guys just like this man is speaking on. What a amazing relationship and resource for you guys to have access to. What a cool dude also. Great episode. The best yet in my humble opinion.... I'm hooked lol 😂
As a new and non diving fan of Dive Talk who has UC, this was an EXTREMELY interesting video, thank you for the new information!! Just goes to show that you never can tell what random content you may come across that can really create a change in your life. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication, it really does show in EVERY video that you guys do!
Such an informative, entertaining interview. The four of you should do a PBS tv show! Ok, I watched it again. No words to express how much I admire Joe Dituri. So much accomplished in so few years and so selflessly done. Truly freaking amazing. And then he topped it all off with a closing message thanking America for thanking service men and women for protecting and serving America. It was a real-life definition for humility. This is now my favorite Dive Talk video of the (hundreds?) I have watched. This is also my favorite Woody video of all time. Gus let him run the show and Woody did him proud.
What an amazingly interesting, intelligent, well spoken, accomplished man- really impressive. I don't dive and I have no reason to really be interested in hyperbaric medicine but, he had me really engaged and interested while he was talking about it. He drives his own million dollar personal submarine at the behest of our government who foots the bill- think about that for a minute- what a stud. There are some unbelievably impressive ppl in the world of diving- and you guys do a great job of introducing us to them- thank you.
This dude's energy is just amazing 👌I'm not a diver and had no idea what you was all talking about for the most part 🤣but thoroughly enjoyed it regardless and I think that says a lot about your channel great work dive talk 👍
That was an amazing episode... I was glued to the screen... Grateful for people like you guys in the world . Truly appreciate everything Joe has done for our country to make it better an safer to deep dive. An to deal with compression sickness. The hyperbaric chamber an the nute suit Amazing completely... Thanks for sharing your lives with us grateful for the opportunity to learn from you all!!! ✌🏼💗😊❣️
I watch every video you guys put out because no matter what it's always informational...I look forward to a new video everyday.. please never stop doing what you guys do, I love this content
Nornally I don't really enjoy interview videos, but I really enjoyed this video. You guys are such a riot even outside the studio. Joe has the most contagious smile I've seen. I just want to smile constantly while I'm watching him 😅. Thanks for this awesome content as usual guys 👍👊
Joe has to be one of the coolest people in the planet, i mean he's a Navy diver, and a cave diver, and a skydiver, and he has a PhD, and he works on a company thats pushing the frontier of the science of diving, and also he's a very charismatic guy, hes a good storyteller, and he seems like such a fun guy to hang with!
On a serious note, I’d love to take my dad to him, instead of the dime store wound care center that hasn’t been able to do **** for his legs, having had osteomyelitis and having had to use the hyperbaric chamber. He’s obviously incredibly smart! Now, even as a grown up, I want to be like Woody when I grow up!
Idk how I missed this when it first came out, but I am loving it all! The medical crossover into diving, AND all the talk of The Abyss 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰😂🤣😂 I'm so glad to hear in bits of each video that Woody loves the movie. NTIs!!! And Gus's heart stabbing references, like just damn I think finding your channel has been the most exciting YT find this far. The curiosity of deep dives, how your tools make it possible, both your knowledge and experience, and then talking with Dr Joe was splendid!
Yeh wow!. Thankyou. Sure would like to know more of the Cardiologist as well!👍 I am so "stoked",as I see that they, and the rest of the Crew could very competently relieve the crew of the Enterprise when asked!.🤣 Kirk was great in this video. Let's hear who Bones is!. And waddabout the young fella who took you thru the convulsions protocols!. I reckon he might be a Chekov!. The watery realm, the deep and dark...................the Abyss!. "To go where no one has gone before".👍 Zebedee from Oz.
Wow Joe is an idol guys I've never heard of a more determined hard working guy, that's straight inspiration and I always thank my veterans for their service my grandpa always told me how they were treated after Nam and korea, i just wanna thank yall for taking the time to go and give us straight facts from a credible and crazy honorable guy one of yalls best videos yet! Hands down
So weird that when you leave Woody by himself for 30 second you end up finding him in a hyperbaric chamber. You need to get one of those toddler leashes for him. Lol
Hahaha
Woody went to neverland and never came back. Forever a kid, it's admirable really.
hyperbolic time chamber
“Don’t talk about aliens they will kick us out of here they have phds”
I love this
What better people to talk about extraterrestrials with!?
I saw your comment before I watched the video and I'm like "aliens have Phds? And they'll kick us out?" XD
PH.d **
I think its time for Dive Talk podcast. invite divers, people involved in aquatic activities, legends and explorers of the wilderness, climbers, scientists etc. Y'all are so so compelling and I loved the talks with this guy, so so awesome. like JRE but dive talk
This would be great. I'm in the middle of nowhere without service so I can't watch videos at work even if I wanted to, but podcasts are a different story.
They already have a podcast!! It has the same name
They stopped doing the podcast to focus on the UA-cam channel
Yup that would be it!!!
I couldnt agree more, i usually put Dive Talk on while driving or doing work and homework. More podcast would be awesome!!
literally said “WOODY!” out loud when he started wandering off during class 💀💀
he is my spirit animal omg 😂
“WE LITERALLY JUST GOT HERE” IM SCREAMING.
“I WANT TO BE THE FIRST” STOP. 😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂
Love how the cut away is Gus finding him lol
woody is one of my most favorite people ever! honestly !
SAME 🤣
I can picture it now, Woody in that aluminum dive suit screaming "Gus, we need to get one of these". Gus, slowly shaking his head no.
What they need to do is go diving for gold lol!
Yes’s 🤣👌🏼
@@mattk8810 your wish has been granted! 😂
@@Thatdudewiththedogs Yeah, Woody found diamonds and gold, lol
You can see on the guy's face at 5:42 when Woody's insisting about aliens - his smile says "shit, he knows. Just play it off, smile, don''t say anything, just smile"
Totally.

@@serfranklin6022 That’s not what he meant 😑
@@serfranklin6022 technical speak. Not the actual words you goober
Love how Woody just walks off and then when Gus follows he's in the chamber xD
Can we get some "Lost Woody" shirts? You guys are great and loving that Woody is such a great dork! "Aliens!"
Would buy! We also need Woody 'I want to do that' and Gus 'That's bananas' t-shirts!
Woody wondering off and Gus finding him laying down in the chamber thing made me burst out laughing 😂 like a toddler who loves wondering off. Love you guys ♥️
Wondering?
Hehe that cracked me up too 🤣

Wow, 3 new bucket list items: 1) Buy Joe a beer 2) learn from him and his experiences 3) go diving with him...
Newly converted Joe fan also
Thank you @DIVE TALK my father became extremely ill over the course of just a couple months and was diagnosed with crones/ulcerative colitis (they are doing more tests to determine exactly which), im going to try to look into Joe and the Facility. This might be what he needs, so again thank you so much.
Hahahahahaha Woody wandering off had me rolling 😂😂😂
You guys are bloody legends!
Brilliant interview! Cheers guys!
My man Woody living by the “it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission” credo
I super respect that ❤️
joe literally said, “but that’s just an opinion man”
The Dude of diving🤯🤙🏻
Amazing, what a knowledgeable and humble guy, I bet his career is a non stop blast, enjoy your work and never work a day in your life at its finest
What a great conversation to watch, I'd love to go get a beer with this bunch. I'd say there'd be some crazy stories.
Woody is such a child at heart. I wish I was more like him.
Wow how cool you were able to do this .. thanks guys
Doug seems so excited and humble at the same time .. …!!
I love how the diving brings together so many amazing people
This dude's energy is just amazing 👌I'm not a diver and had no idea what you was all talking about for the most part 🤣but thoroughly enjoyed it regardless and I think that says a lot about your channel great work dive talk 👍
Man ...you know how sometimes you find a channel that is way more than you ever expected... this is it
That was an amazing episode...
You are so blessed Joe! You deserve it you carry yourself so well!
I feel like Joe & Woody are the same energy, I loved this!
I watch every video you guys put out because no matter what it's always informational...I look forward to a new video everyday.. please never stop doing what you guys do, I love this content
Thank you for service Dr Joe! G-d bless!
I could listen to these guys talk all day. Great interview. What an interesting dude.
I love these videos. Gus and Woody are the nicest guys ! Very humble and always treat their guests with mad respect.
Loved the chemistry guys. Great job
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for watching!
Danke!
Thank you Joe
Such a humble man this guy joe is
Another brilliant video, Gus & Woody!
Joseph seems like a rockstar of deep diving 🤣
Yeh wow!.
Thankyou.
Sure would like to know more of the Cardiologist as well!👍
I am so "stoked",as I see that they, and the rest of the Crew could very competently relieve the crew of the Enterprise when asked!.🤣
Kirk was great in this video.
Let's hear who Bones is!.
And waddabout the young fella who took you thru the convulsions protocols!.
I reckon he might be a Chekov!.
The watery realm, the deep and dark...................the Abyss!.
"To go where no one has gone before".👍
Zebedee from Oz.
Joe is such a brilliant chap, I could listen to him forever.
