Tip: Nato guns are pretty good and the ammo is easy to find, I suggest you always take a auto nato gun in the place of anything else otherwise you'll struggle to find ammo.

I have a tip but im not 100% sure but on the Albatross island spawn (the seemingly bare island above the prison map-wise) has a beached small boat on it that im *pretty sure* always spawns with a regular XM117 and a few 20 round magazines, i found it twice in a row on 2 different servers so yea a seemingly trash spawn according (according to some players) has a really good early game gun!! theres also a chance for a yellow Cessna plane crash to spawn there!
people say its a trash spawn because its far from pvp hotspots but unless your a loot bag who only loots and doesnt pvp then its not a bad spawn. btw m2 can spawn in the yellow plane crash
762 / 556 battle packs or " cans " can spawn literally anywhere at military locations for example within a military tent with a parallel military crate and then gun case can spawn a 556 one ontop of the crate a 762 battle pack can spawn in NAS (naval air station) within the command builiding next to the black crate etc
Hey pies if you run on the coast between coastal bunkers and Ashland you will find a cave that spawns German soldier zombies. They are boss zombies that will stun you but if you kill them they will 100% drop the mp40 which is a good early weapon
pies btw the spot you said you know like always has a helicrash isnt the only one that always has a helicrash, mackinaw island has like 4 NATO helicrash spawns (NATO and normal helicrashes are different, NATO has 7.62 guns and more rare guns + black hazmat rare unlockable, regular helicrash has usually 5.56 guns and ghillie suit)
if you happen to spawn close to the prison you can find the snake boss zombie that carries a mac 10 (and drops it) in the showers (about like underground iirc) a nice automatic sidearm too 👍
Try to go to military encampnets and sneak around and not be found, also you should search for military outposts on bridges and roads, they usually have zombies with M16 and aditional equipment/guns/food/clothes.
