Villa have been fantastic this season and still challenging for Europe. Wolves have got something to cheer finally after a poor season. Personally I think wolves will struggle again next season. Villa fans still harp on about 1982 and Wolves fans enjoy every moment of their premier league presence.

Well, they were not really that far off then. Since, after their change of ownership Villa ended up only spending a grand total of three seasons in total (merely a blip in their history), before getting right back into the top flight league again and they've not really looked back since. Especially not now they have a top class manager in Unai Emery signed up until 2029 and Champions League football to boot. Things are looking really great for the future of Aston Villa FC.

Villa won’t get higher than 8th now. Simple facts are that we’ve run out of steam just short of the line. Shame but if we’re not good enough to win away at Wolves after they lost 6-0 to Brighton, we’re not good enough to compete in the conference and the prem next season. Hopefully we’ll strengthen in the summer and be good enough to get Europe next year. We’ve still had our best season in a long time and have to be happy with that.

Spurs had a terrible season by recent standards - Conte the destroyer of Clubs, Mourinho before him. Both Chelsea trojan horses. Other teams didn't catch spurs this season, spurs fell back into these mediocre teams territory, temporarily.
Well, it wasn't that long ago (in footballing terms) when Villa were still dominant over the likes of Spurs. It's only very recently, since Spurs have had some "moments in the sun", which also happened to coincide with one of their worst mismanagement periods in Aston Villa's history, and going through relegation and promotion, etc., that Spurs have even been regarded (by some) as a "bigger" club than Aston Villa. Because, that certainly hasn't been the case for roughly ~90% of these clubs existence (which anyone over the age of 30+ should already know). And that "temporary trend" looks like not lasting for much longer either, given the current respective trajectories of both clubs. UTV! 😆

When I'd be out chatting in the pub Sat night, people would be asking the days scores, asking who you followed etc and I often noted that Everton and Spurs were very much on par with each other then. I would class Poch's reign as successful in team building (and I'm not sure about him returning if he was to). Pool who were $hiteless barely hung on, but they did hang on so well done them, and if cheating penalties is ok with them, then fair dues. Sure, trophies mean historical success. But there's a nuanced argument there about personal achievement. Otherwise. why would anyone watch football if success only meant trophies (which I concede, it does for the most part). So you probably want me to say ‘91 or ‘08 when we won a cup? Why don’t we all just support City since it’s money that buys success?
I'm a Wolves fan but genuinely don't hate the Villa. This bloke clearly on the wind up, they are the biggest club by some way, in the Midlands. But our record against Villa is strangely good, just as our record against our local rivals Albion is terrible. Yesterday Wolves arguably had the best chances with Costa, Cunha and a missed open goal from Nunes, but Sky only show the Villa efforts strangely. Don't get me wrong, Villa were the better side playing flowing football, but we have stayed up based on defensive stubbornness, and I hope it evolves next season.

I'm a Wolves fan but genuinely don't hate the Villa. This bloke clearly on the wind up, they are the biggest club by some way, in the Midlands. But our record against Villa is strangely good, just as our record against our local rivals Albion is terrible. Yesterday Wolves arguably had the best chances with Costa, Cunha and a missed open goal from Nunes, but Sky only show the Villa efforts strangely. Don't get me wrong, Villa were the better side playing flowing football, but we have stayed up based on defensive stubbornness, and I hope it evolves next season.
