Great video! A few years ago, Union Pacific brought a gigantic transformer to Ames, Iowa, but unfortunately I hadn't become a full-blown railfan or even bought my video camera yet. They took it up the Jewell Subdivision by the high school and transferred it to a semi-truck flatbed trailer with (I saw it but forget exactly) between ten and twenty axles distributed under the whole length of the trailer and maybe eight tires per axle that were distributed along the length of each axle to get it the few blocks to its final home.
it's pretty cool you got this I live in sunbury and heard the crew talking to the Harrisburg east dispatcher( thru the net) he asked where it was going and I was surprised it was going to the M&H. did the NS take the load to the m&H yard where they have the depot? and did both transformers go one at a time thanks mark
Nov. 11 the GP38-2 was on that little industrial switch off to the PPL substation, why would it be there today? I saw it around 4:30 PM and again at 8:05 PM, it never moved. Why?
This is the kind of stuff that i love filming. Rare train moves. Awesome!

I believe the M&H crew took it to the power plant. And only the one transformer went in. The other one continued on eastbound.

Very cool video! Is the power plant TMI?
Not TMI. Just a substation/distribution point just off US 322.
Oh okay I wasnt thinking, TMI would be off the Royalton Branch wouldnt it?
Nice!! Thanks
