My childhood playground in the late1960s we used to picnic in the grounds and lay down in the stone coffins ! ..lived just behind the Vespergate pub ...now living in Lincolnshire...happy memories.
I also lived on the Vesper Gates as a kid....1958-66

Missed out the most interesting fact! The road used to run directly thro the abbey's main aisle!
