I think this story has value and this fella is clearly loving it, which is great! Shame about the negative comments, people getting triggered needlessly. However, imo the narrative would have been better focused on onsighting trad routes, E6 and above. Pre-clipping bolts doesn’t quite encapsulate the true onsight experience, if you want to overcome doubt remove the bolts. All the same it’s still super fun fighting hard on that first go and is great training for trad
I think climbing gyms and the culture they foster are the main cause for the drop in onsight culture. when the whole route is one color onsighting is impossible. a flash is the most someone can claim indoors
Ahh yes the forgotten style of ONSIGHTING. Thank god this man resurected such an ancient form of climbing! Even though all highend lead comps are onsight, all my friends and I attempt onsights, and everyone knows about onsighting. You guys are really getting desperate for views. Can't wait for the next wave of lay offs!
You just got a high-quality 10 minute doc about onsighting wth interviews, projecting, sending, and interesting info - _for free_ - and you're whining about the _title._ Yeah, _they're_ definitely the ones who look dumb, here.
@@MrJarastamon I don't see anger (I'm certainly not angry). It's just not a great video and the concept (that onsighting is some lost art) is patently silly.
Kudos for whatever floats your climbing boat, but this is pretty lame. Literally the best climber in the world (and of all time) talks all the time about prioritizing onsight. And this ethos (try a route once only) is highly geographically biased. If you happen to live in an area with a lifetime worth of onsight attempts, great. For the rest of us, projecting is not only a choice it's the only option.
Most definitely it's YOUR comment that's LAME. If you want to onsight routes, no one is stopping you from doing so. all you gotta do is focus on that style of climbing. Your comment about not having a choice in projecting vs insighting couldn't be more wrong... Are there routes that are impossible to onsight? only if you gather info on them before climbing them

I love to go to a crag without any Guidebook and start climbing. Super Fun
Jerry Moffat got good by trying many climbs with onsight flash as his intention. That increases focus and makes you a better climber.
Grande Silvio !!! Intelligente, profondo e accurato nell'esprimerti, come sempre!... un bel punto di riferimento per i giovani climbers !! 🤗

@@TrackpadProductions well, for free is one way to see it, i also see a 10min ad for La Sportiva...
@@TrackpadProductions This is an average-at-best short video by today's standards. Nothing revelatory and average footage.
@@TrackpadProductionsI don’t understand why people are so mad either 😂
