Old bird racing is over they start in April and race every Saturday, now the young ones start racing every week until September and yes they will choose a box to roost in and next year they will breed and rear in that box.
Question: I do not understand how you can determine the winner, when all the pigeons are flying to their own homes. Is their a specific location where they all fly through on their way home? I hope to see you on a live stream so you can explain that.
It’s time over distance. Velocity. They carry a electronic timing ring on the leg all race birds are released at the race point to fly to there homes. On arrival they cross over a electronic pad. Which registers there time of arrival on the electronic clock. The speed of the bird is then worked out time over distance to home.
@A Channel of Just Stuff one ring is there life ring and put on before there 7 days old. It can’t be removed it has the country and year of birth and a number that’s registered to me. The other ring is the chip ring and can be removed at any time
