You saved me from spending twice as much on a Pixel 7a, so you deserve 10% of my savings. I currently use a 2020 Power and you reminded me how great it is and how much it fits me. Thank you.
I too am coming from a 2020 Power and was actually considering getting a Zenfone 10 which is normally waaaay out of my price range. Then I remembered how great the G Power series really is, searched up a review, found this one, and it cemented my decision.🥳 I had to also remember that the only games I play on my phone are crappy mobile MMOs, so I don't need flagship level performance to play them. I have a Steam Deck already anywho. 😂 I've owned nothing but Moto G series for the past 10 years and I've never been disappointed. Dunno why I even considered paying over 3x the amount for a phone I technically don't need (as cool as Zenfone 10 is). Perhaps I will come back in here and follow your example with a donation for the sound advice as well.
ALL i use is Moto Budget phones. I will not pay $ 700-$1100 for the phone. I SAVE money to buy tools for Fixing things around the House is more Beneficial 😅❤😂
Yep me too. Had the g7 power. 2020 stylus, 2022 5g stylus and now 2023 5g stylus. Each one feels like an upgrade while everyone spending 1k to get the same phone each year
I completely agree with you that many people compare budget phones to flagships and that’s not a fair comparison. The last two or three years, the G Power lineup from Motorola has been pretty bad. This model is upgraded for everything it offers at the price. If you compare this to other budget phones, especially budget phones from Samsung or Oneplus, this one is better. The only downside is only one year of OS updates and three for security updates but otherwise, it’s an excellent device. Great review!
@@AndroidDigest Motorola is doing a great job improving their device quality for the prices they charge and specs. But, their one Achilles heel is software support and has been for years. If they can solve that issue, they could compete with Samsung and Google for the best android maker. Keep making the great content man!
I liked my 2020 but broke the screen. I got the 2022 now only thing I don't like is the turbo charge doesn't work on most QC3.0 chargers. Only thing I can get to work even with high quality Anker cables is a 5 amp 100w Anker laptop charger and my Lenovo 65 watt laptop charger. I stopped with flagships a long time ago. Too much money for something I'll break in less than two years. All I do is make calls, texts and watch UA-cam on this thing.
@@electromechanicalstuff2602 I had the 2020 G Power and while I did enjoy it, I think I might've gotten one from Walmart that was refurbished sold as new. The call quality was non existent and the processor was slow on damn near everything. I had a Moto Edge 2022 and about a month ago, I traded and got the Edge Plus 2023. Both of those phones are better and don't have those issues. This G Power 2023 looks great too and isn't too far off from the processor that was in the Edge 22.
I remember in like 2013 I bought a moto G and it came with a changeable colored back plate. That phone was like $30 on Amazon and lasted like 2 years. Seriously underrated phone at the time. Glad Motorola is keeping that up still 10 years later.
I prefer the headphone jack and the SD.. I don’t like being locked into the “cloud storage” also I have an older car so the headphone jack is a nice feature for older cars
I just returned the Pixel 6a due to it feeling warm and don't like it where I can't customize the screen without Google placing their non-removable items on the screen also. I have used Motorola for years and was happy with my Moto G but the battery just wasn't lasting anymore after years of us. Motorola Power looks like it will fit my needs and thank you for the honest review.
Sadly I got the carrier version of this phone so I got 4 GB of ram and 128 GB of storage and and coming from the moto g pure 3 gb and 32 GB it's a insane upgrade but i do wish i got the unlocked version It's awesome coming from the moto g pure
This phone has convinced me that I don't need to bother with flagships anymore. Performance is decent, battery is better than any flagship I've had, and the headphone jack and SD card slot are game changers for me.
@@AndroidDigest Yeah, the cameras are the one compromise of budget phones that may be a big deal. Still, I'm not a photographer, so it's good enough for me. If I ever do want to get more serious about photography or making videos, I'm thinking it's probably a better idea to get a real camera.
Im here for the same. I havent had a flagship phone in 10 years make it past an update or two 3 months to a year without glitching out, this one is by far the worst and its just half paid for. Im done. No more apple, no more samsung, those cults can argue till they are blue in the face about who doesnt suck the worst. Im over it. If this motorolla works flawlessly for 4 months it will de the best phone ive had in several years. If it catches on fire after that and i hsve to replace it with another… it will be the most economical phone ive had in years.
I have a Motorola G power 2021 I was a big Samsung fan. The reason I'm stuck with Motorola for the long haul is the reception. I live way way way out in the boonies. I get calls and Internet where iPhone users and Samsung users can't even get a signal!
I just ordered one of these phones and you made me feel that I made a good choice. This phone has all the features that I need and want and now I am looking more forward to receiving it because of this review. Thanks and great job on this review! 👍👍
EXCELLENT honest review for the "average phone user." I was ready to purchase this phone, but 2024 Power G was just released. I would like to see your "comparison review" on the 2023 vs the 2024 models. Thank you for sharing this review.
For $199 6 GB ram 256 GB storage, it's seriously decent. I smashed my Red Magic gaming phone ($600) and got this to temporarily replace it while I got the screen replaced. There is nothing wrong with this little phone, it rocks for the price.
I'm one of those old g7 power owners and my phone finally died (got it in 2019). Without doing any research I grabbed a moto g play 2023 thinking that for around the same price it would be similar performance but it's pretty terrible and I decided to grab something a little better specced. After doing some research I'm down to the pixel 6a, Nord N30 and this. As much as I like the ability to easily throw a custom rom on the pixel having no headphone jack and no SD card I think have taken that phone out of the running. Not many good reviews on this phone so just wanted to say thanks for being one of the few!
Thank you for your kind words! You are the reason why this video exists. See a lot of people would say the Pixel is a no brainer, and for me I would agree, but I know people like you exist that really really care about the headphone jack or the sd card slot, which is why I mention those things. This phone is still very fast, has 120hz, and has those extra features. So it's a good phone, slightly worse than the pixel with the pixel having amoled and a better camera, but this phone is darn close, and those extra features may bring it over the top for you. Glad you enjoyed the review.
I honestly thought those camera samples were very good. I'm upgrading from a pixel 4a (wanted better battery and a bit more screen). According to the Geekbench 6 It's an upgrade. Didn't want to mess with the pixel 6a due to just wanting better battery and less HEATING! These pixel phones get annoyingly hot. Also, call me crazy, but I think I prefer IPS LCD Panels over OLED. Took advantage of the discount and got it on Amazon for $249. Should be here soon! :)
Hopefully you enjoy it. $250 isn't bad. The Pixel 6a would have maybe given you better pictures but worse battery, no sd card slot, no headphone jack. Again if you prefer oled it's better but you don't. Seems like you found what's better for you. That's my goal is to help.
@@multuminparvo5 been about 3 months with the moto power and I have no regrets. The battery life is amazing. Definitely feels like an upgrade to my pixel 4a. And no overheating!
Wondering how the Dimensity 7020 performs in games. Anyone have any guesses on how the Moto G Power 5G 2024 will handle them, I am hearing about the 2024 Edition for a longer time, very excited !!
Not sure if this will get seen but do have to ask, between this phone and oneplus nord N30 and possibly the nokia G60 which one would be the better option?
Personally I'd probably lean towards the OnePlus Nord. Or this Moto. But it's very very close. There's updated versions of these phones too. But obviously they would cost more.
thanks for this thoughtful in depth video, I'm really torn between getting this or the Moto G Stylus 5g 2023, I can get either for about the same price, same ram 6gb in both and same 256gb storage, however, the CPU are totally different, I've heard really favorable things about the Dimensity CPU's being very good and smooth, this phone has the Dimensity 930 and the G Stylus 5g 2023 has the Snapdragon 6 gen 1, would this phone be better/stronger specs wise you think? Or should I go with the Snapdragon 6 gen 1 G stylus 5g 2023? Even if the support cycle is shorter, these Moto phones are so much cheaper than others I can just get another in 3 years when the support for this ends, get updated specs, and still come out way ahead on the price paid lol
I'd probably get the Moto g stylus personally. Performance is pretty close. I guess a big thing you have to ask yourself is will you ever use the stylus. If the answer is no I'd probably get the g power.
Lots of good budget smartphones nowadays. I love the Moto G line up, they offer fantastic value and a near stock android experience and I've had a few of them over the years. Just recently got the Moto G84 5G for £155 which has a 6.5" 120Hz pOLED display, 12GB RAM , 256GB ROM and they even included a TPU case and a 33W power brick in the box.
Thank you for the sober review. I just took delivery of the Moto G Stylus 5G from Google Fi ( 4 GB ram 128 GB storage, $100). I am replacing my Moto G Power which is about 3 years old and is currently on Android 11. Overall, the G Power has been a decent phone with excellent autonomy - but I missed having the NFC. I owned a Moto X4 before the G Power and that phone was excellent. However, with Motorola I have found that they will start to become "unusable" at around the 3 year mark. Even simple things like scrolling through email becomes problematic. So keep that in mind when you purchase a Motorola. For $100 it is difficult to complain and I accept that every 2-3 years I will replace the phone even though I would prefer to keep it longer. Personally I would not spend $250 on this phone unless I absolutely had to replace the phone urgently. And in my opinion, spending $1000 on a phone is simply reckless. I much prefer using that money to buy a well equipped laptop.
I have had this phone over a week. It's excellent! I highly recommend it! The only thing I don't like is the charger it came with. The charging speed is too slow and I plan to upgrade for a turbo charger. I would also like the battery to last a LOT longer. I have to charge my phone many times a day as I stream constantly all day long every single day.
Unlocked phones will work overseas, but US markets MAY have slightly different antennas/bands that the phone works with. Generally it should work fine in different countries though.
I paid only $100, which is the same I paid for a crappy 720p LG budget phone six years ago. Love it so far, and it's way better and smoother performing than the 2021 Moto G Stylus I'd been using.
The NFC would have been nice to have, other than that I have loved this phone for $250 unlocked. Once using the 120 refresh rate it's difficult to go back....
I bought this at Best Buy over a week ago. I paid 249 plus $40 for them to set it up and transfer everything. They didn't have a case, so I had to go to Walmart for one, but it's a high quality case.
@AndroidDigest which one do you suggest or anyone can chime in I’m going with straight talk and deciding between the moto g power 2023 and the pixel 6a
Help with a recommendation. I currently have a Motorola Z3 play. And it's definitely time for a new phone now. My problem is. I want something equivalent quality wise. But it absolutely positively has to have the ability to accept a micro SD card. I was originally looking at the new Motorola Edge. But it doesn't accept an SD card. The storage expansion is necessary for me to have my music collection in lossless format always available to me. Suggestions Please. Thank you in advance!
I guess it depends on what type of phone you're wanting. And what carrier you are on. I'd say the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G may be one of the better phones out there that accepts an sd card, you can get it normally around $400. If you are willing to spend more, a lot more, the Sony Xperia 1 V costs like $1,300 in the US, and it does have an sd card slot. It's a phone geared towards video creators but it's top of the line. You can find the Xperia 1 IV on sale on ebay refurbished for like $800, the model from the year before that accepts an sd card too. Or the smaller Xperia 5 IV which you can find used for maybe $700. Remember those have international variants that work slightly less good in the US. And they won't work on Verizon. the Galaxy A54 5G is probably the best phone that I can think of that works will all carriers in the US and you can find around $400. So a decent upgrade.
budget phones are best for me. i dont really want a phone im afraid to drop because its made of glass and costs more than my first car. ive had a motox4 for a long time and dropped it hundreds of times and it works fine, same with the samsung odyssey. plastic is great. but to each their own, the high end phones have a lot of nice features that budget tend to lack. thanks for the review, i picked up a moto g power 2023 and am looking forward to trying it out.
Hope you enjoy it! It's a good budget phone, a lot of other good choices around this price, but it's been going on sale a lot too. So hope you like it.
It depends on what you want really. I think the Pixel 6A has a general edge mainly because the cameras are so much better. But the other phones are going to have better battery life and other advantages. I only say the pixel because it's pretty balanced. It's fast. It's got good cameras. Battery life is at least okay. So it's pretty balanced. The A14 and the Moto are a lot better with battery life, they have headphone jacks, They have higher refresh rate screens. A lot of advantages. But they are both a little slower and have worse cameras. If you're okay with slightly worse cameras. At that point it's a close call. The Motorola is a better phone. The Galaxy will have a little bit better software support. And the galaxy is a little cheaper. I'd probably lean towards the Moto since I switch phones a little more often
10-4, thanks for the info. I have a moto g power (xt2165dl) and I can't use certain apps, just trying to upgrade without spending a lot and I'm on straight talk
@@AndroidDigest if you but the unlocked moto g then it's a win but if you buy a carrier version like through straight talk its gonna suck with 4gb ram and half the storage then this unlocked version with 6gb ram
Gotta love that scroll speed! The plastic backing isn't a deal breaker, and neither is the lack of Apple/Google pay. I'll strongly consider a phone like this once my current one stops working.
It's weird Cuz cricket all of a sudden stopped showing this phone on thier website along with several others.... I wonder if the brick and mortar stores have them....? 🤔
You can add a micro sd card. They are like $10 on amazon. It comes with 128GB in the base it sounds like, normally doesn't come with an sd card, so you should be good without a card. Either way you can get a card cheap if you want.
@@AndroidDigest I added the card however the phone is not recognizing it. Is it possible my provider Spectrum locked it to prevent me from upgrading the storage. Or does the card need to be formatted first?
If you're looking around this price the Pixel 6a or 7a. The 7a is on sale for Black Friday around $375. Which is a great deal. The 6a is around $200. A great camera on that too
my older G power is my favorite phone i've ever had, it cant do a crazy amount but its so reliable and took a lot of drops before cracking, one of the few phones I broke over time instead of it dying on me. I wish I Knew a phone around $500 that was basically this with that 4k camera and touch pay. As someone who goes to a lot of concerts and travels for them, those are really valued to me.
It cant do alot? Its a phone with a computer it can most anything. 1. Take a photo - YES 2. Text messages - YES 3 Answer calls YES 4 Make calls YES 5. Play games - YES 4k is a waste I got a pixle 8 pro and do not bother with 4k its a waste. 1080p is all you need unless you have a 200" screen or a movie theater and sit int he front row then 4k has some use.
Hello, let's say your phone is on in your pocket and later you look at it and you got messages from Whatsapp and your icon of whatsup on your home page of the phone has a small number of the icon that indicates how many messages you got. You click on the icon and read them. Where on the phone I can install so I get notifications like that icon(number on it)?
Honestly I don't really know. But maybe someone else could tell you. I'm sure there are some apps, or maybe some launchers that would have that feature
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy A01 and it's horrible, 3 gigs of RAM and 16 gig storage on Verizon network... They filled it up with bloatware and it's got no space left. I'm going to edit this to add that I've put a 64 gig SD card in but the apps taking up the most space can't be moved to the SD card and I'm constantly having to clean the cache to update the main apps but there isn't room to update everything.
So when you say great performance im assuming its using the internet in 4g or 5g as well. You never mentioned that. And you didnt mention how lite or heavy it is. Im in between the 2023 and 2024 G power for two reasons only, for the headphone jack and the sound effect/media output built in app. Im a motorola user because i like software design and its simple ro use. Staying with G power, i dont have to fiddle for hours and hours with new settings or features or built in apps. The Galaxy Series has so much crap in settings its frustrating having to scroll through so a huge amount of settings. Any way back to what I was saying. The media output sound settings are excellent on the 2022. I like the custom sound settings especially bass punch. This phone compliments my standard 8 speaker car audio system and brings clean and crisp power, bass and treble THROUGH the 3.5m jack. It brings out raw sound to the speakers. I still use 3 5m because i have found that using a charging port to listen to music in a vehcle sucks balls. I have used several phones thru the charging port and the sound quality is just average almost sissylike, and adds no raw power to the speakers. So thats why im looking to buy a G power 2023 or 2024 for the sound settings. Eventually, there wiĺ be no more 3.5m I guess. I bought a G84 came with 12G Ram/ 256GB. Lighting quick phone. But listening to music thru the charging port sucked. And the bass punch treble settings were gone or changed. Aðding audio apps doesnt help they sound or make the speakers sound horrible. So I returned the damn phone. Dolby Atmos sucks rocky mountain oysters. I have come to terms with old school music listening fading away into the sunset or darkness of an eclipse....
Glad you enjoy the G Power line, when I refer to speed I'm referring to how fast things load, it's on WiFi, it's not about Internet speed, that's pretty irrelevant since most devices will have a similar speed. I'm referring to how quick the processor can load things. And it does good, for the money, but again, it depends on expectations, I think you'll find it's a nice jump from the previous models.
Commenting from my GPower I bought in 2019! Tired of flagship planned obsellescence so gave an unlocked Moto a shot. 4 years later its still running strong, and its been dropped (in a case) PLENTY. Buying my son and I new models for Christmas because my charging port is finally starting to get a little loose. Two phones for $200😂. See you in another 4 years! Love these phones.
Great review! I'm a fairly new subscriber and I'm really glad I came across your channel. I'm into mid-range phones and tablets so your chan will be helpful for sure. I snagged a open box like new from BB for a great price and they took my G Power 2020 in trade (75 bucks credit). My purchase was partly prompted from your review, so thanks.
Well thank you! It means a lot. I go back and forth between budget, mid-range, high end, and Android tablets. I try to mix it up. And I try to talk about used prices, the prices in the market, what good sales to expect, etc. So glad you are aboard. Hope you enjoy the phone!
So I have this phone. I live in spotty 5g and I want to turn 5g off and use LTE. I can't find any way to do it. As far as flagship phones, I had one and it sucked. Especially when it broke. Pixel 6 pro.
There may be a way to do it, but I wouldn't know how. Often they bury those settings, and sometimes, depending on your carrier, the settings will change in the phone itself. You may have to do some extra research on it, sorry!
I have an IPhone XR that's port is broken, and it would cost 100 dollars to replace it. I came from a Moto G power 2022 and really enjoyed that phone, so for the price of repairing my XR I could get this phone through my carrier...idk what to do
You can get an XR on eBay for around $110. Your paying the used price. I'd take a step back and pick the best phone for you regardless of your insurance. If it happens to be the XR get it replaced, but going through insurance is saving you maybe $20 max
Nice review. I typically only get two years out of my cell phone before they show some wear so why but thousand dollar phones? I can get a new phone on a regular basis wherr as an expensive phone I would have to keep longer. I have baught many Motorola phones and while there are better ones out there my average monthly cost is low.. My 5 h one Ace lasted a bit over two years before the battery died but I only paid 129 dollats for it
I have owned the 2022 model and it is the best phone for the price. Battery life is stellar and it has withstood several drops on the floor without incident. I just bought the 2023. Would highly recommend. I got it on sale for 199.00. cant be it!
I just bought this phone then saw a ton of compliments about it I bought a Samsung galaxy a53 5g less then a year ago for 200 I bought this for 100 for straight talk but I wasn't sure what to buy because I don't like spending a ton of money on a phone that litterly starts acting yp right after you can't return it 15 days with Walmart/ straight talk.
My current phone is the edge 2021 and the one before that was the g power I think 2020. And I've been nothing but Happy with them tbh. I'm a bit of a Motorola fan club for phones 😂 I've had better durability luck with Motorolas as well. I think it's only like 200 on Motorola site right now too
I just got one for $100 yesterday and am totally happy with it. I don't game on my phone so all it really has to do youtube, camera, internet, email, gps and call/text. My previous phone was a Motorola as well, a Moto G Stylus that I loved but it got lost. I've liked Motorolas as well for years, every one I've had I've been happy with as opposed to Samsung which I don't like at all even their flagship S series. I got my wife a Nokia last year because it had good reviews but it's actually no good at all, especially the camera. Another thing I love about Motorolas is being able to shake it to turn the flashlight on and off and twist it for the camera, those things are huge conveniences for me that you don't find on any other phones no matter how much they cost.
I think I had bad luck with the 5g apple se3, but this phone absolutely blows it away on the connection performance, I rely on that to run business and content creating. truly great device for small business and hobbyist online.
@@AndroidDigest my old Moto one ace 5g has the 750g. The gen 6 seems way snappier than the 750g. But that could just be it showing its age. Selfie camera is better on the Ace though, more facial details and brighter color. Stylus is lighter and has a nicer design. 6.6 inch screen is a lot more manageable to hold. Stylus is noticably brighter outside than the ace. Blows the G power away in every department. Especially camera. Main reason I got the stylus was if I was wearing gloves or something but it's summer right now. Aluminum body with like a soft mesh tip. It has app shortcut drawer pop up when you pull it out. Screen shot editor and notes for example. Seems useful. My only other stylus usage was with the Nintendo DS. The moto is way better than that lol.
I just bought one of these as a backup phone. It might become my main phone while I wait for the pixel 8 line to come out. I have no major complaints. It's fast, it looks good, it feels good in the hand, and it totally does not look like phone that cost $199. It looks like a much better phone. The 720 screen could be better, but the 120 refresh rate looks really good. It was pretty easy to go through and strip out some of the bloatware apps. I like the UI. I like the Android on this phone. Motorola usually does a good job with Android. All in all, I like this phone. I don't think it could be my only phone for years, but I have no actual complaints when I'm using it.
I think phone companies have taught people wrong on 120hz. I think because when a phone goes into low power mode it will drop refresh to 60hz to save power but it will also drop cpu and gpu power too which makes the phone lag more. So what they think is lag from 60hz is really lag from gpu and cpu being throttled. I have 120hz, 240hz and 60hz montiors. they only help in fps gaming but you can play the games fine at 60hz and most people dont notice. DO the same thing on a phone and people go ape shit like its a huge difference, its not. Any lag has more to do with gpu and cpu power saving throttle than 120hz. On a still display 60hz is fine. I have a IPS 60HZ next to a 240hz panel and the 60hz looks better on colors than the 240hz. HZ does not make it look clearer on text and web paging reading.
@@Physics072 Yes, but my Google pixel 6A literally was 60hz all the time. I didn't mind so much once I got used to it but I have noticed a big improvement.
I just need a reliable phone with great battery life. All I do is call and check email on my phone, use a few practical apps, and maybe use GPS from time to time, so I don't care about camera performance or video quality. For $199 it's a good buy I think.
I wish moto would add wireless charging to their budget phones i feel like the tech has been around long enough that it wouldn't cost that much to add but i like motos and if you're someone who breaks their phone its a good deal
I dont know about anyone else’s experience, but im here because the last several iphones and samsungs i had seemed to work just fine for the initial period you could return it if something wasnt right, then it would fall off, then with tbe release of a new model would come the updates, and with tbe updates came the glitches and it even further falling on its face, to the point its almost unusable. So im looking at the simple basic machines that will do what i need and nothing i dont. Call text, gps, internet, youtube. It dont even have to be particularly good at it to beat the 1400$ pos i got now i feel. They used to atleast wait till you got the thing paid for, but nope. Got a year left, and i dont think this one gonna make it. So i got me a moto g power for free from my company safety award program, gonna try it when i get home. I figure if im gonna be replacing a phone that 💩the bed ever three months, id rather replace a 100$ one instead of a 1400$ one. It seems most mega companies have lost their effing minds these days. We will see if motorola still has their humbleness they did back in the day
Yup. No complaints with moto g power and would never spend a fortune on a "flagship". What would you get with a "flagship" versus something like this anyway? Better camera or video or wireless charging? Pffft. Whatever.

Thanks! I do agree. Software updates are one downside. They need to improve that!
@@AndroidDigest Motorola is doing a great job improving their device quality for the prices they charge and specs. But, their one Achilles heel is software support and has been for years. If they can solve that issue, they could compete with Samsung and Google for the best android maker. Keep making the great content man!
@@DWtechfan 100000% with you. Hopefully it improves soon. Thanks!
For sure, I agree with you!
I prefer the headphone jack and the SD.. I don’t like being locked into the “cloud storage” also I have an older car so the headphone jack is a nice feature for older cars
I don't blame you. It gives you that extra flexibility, nothing wrong with that.
For sure. Glad to help
Bought it. Love it.
March 2024
Sadly I got the carrier version of this phone so I got 4 GB of ram and 128 GB of storage and and coming from the moto g pure 3 gb and 32 GB it's a insane upgrade but i do wish i got the unlocked version
It's awesome coming from the moto g pure
like the phone hate the clock on home screen there are three options but only two work. .
This phone has convinced me that I don't need to bother with flagships anymore. Performance is decent, battery is better than any flagship I've had, and the headphone jack and SD card slot are game changers for me.
Yeah, those things help. If phones like this had better cameras I'd never mess with a flagship again.
@@AndroidDigest Yeah, the cameras are the one compromise of budget phones that may be a big deal. Still, I'm not a photographer, so it's good enough for me. If I ever do want to get more serious about photography or making videos, I'm thinking it's probably a better idea to get a real camera.
@@AndroidDigestthat and battery battery life is a big deal to me
Im here for the same.
@@frederickjeremyWell, I've had the phone for 8 months so far and nothing has really happened. Hopefully it works just as well for you.
I have a Motorola G power 2021 I was a big Samsung fan. The reason I'm stuck with Motorola for the long haul is the reception. I live way way way out in the boonies. I get calls and Internet where iPhone users and Samsung users can't even get a signal!
Glad you're having a good experience
I just ordered one of these phones and you made me feel that I made a good choice. This phone has all the features that I need and want and now I am looking more forward to receiving it because of this review. Thanks and great job on this review! 👍👍
For sure, thank you so much for the comment!
thank u for mentioning the headphone jack! jeez-nobody can seem to just bring up whether a phone is bluetooth or wired
I try to cover things! Thanks for the support
EXCELLENT honest review for the "average phone user." I was ready to purchase this phone, but 2024 Power G was just released. I would like to see your "comparison review" on the 2023 vs the 2024 models. Thank you for sharing this review.
Thank you so much for the comment, means a ton
For $199 6 GB ram 256 GB storage, it's seriously decent. I smashed my Red Magic gaming phone ($600) and got this to temporarily replace it while I got the screen replaced. There is nothing wrong with this little phone, it rocks for the price.
The G power is awesome for my basic needs. And love Moto gestures
Yes I agree LCD looks good I was an LG guy and for some reason the LCD screens looked so good to me
I just got mine to replace my Pixel 4a. Yes, that phone was continually overheating! And it's too expensive to fix a broken screen on it, too.

It is faster than my snap 888 in s21 fe. Gaming should be ok.
Moto has horrendous software updates. Do not expect for quick security patches
Yes. Should be pretty good. It's a great processor
I never spend more than $200 bucks for a phone..
Ebay has been good to me..
Its cra cra for me to spend $1000 bucks on a damn smartphone.
great information and presentation. thank you
Thank you!
U convinced me to buy it as my backup phone👍preciate it
The Galaxy A14 5G is a good backup too. Both are pretty fast for the money
thanks for this thoughtful in depth video, I'm really torn between getting this or the Moto G Stylus 5g 2023, I can get either for about the same price, same ram 6gb in both and same 256gb storage, however, the CPU are totally different, I've heard really favorable things about the Dimensity CPU's being very good and smooth, this phone has the Dimensity 930 and the G Stylus 5g 2023 has the Snapdragon 6 gen 1, would this phone be better/stronger specs wise you think?
Yeah I think NFC is a pretty big deal. You have some good thoughts, thanks for sharing.
I have this phone i like how much the black one resembles a iphone but for people that don't like iphones it's super fast and camera is really good.
Glad you like it!
I have had this phone over a week. It's excellent! I highly recommend it! The only thing I don't like is the charger it came with. The charging speed is too slow and I plan to upgrade for a turbo charger. I would also like the battery to last a LOT longer. I have to charge my phone many times a day as I stream constantly all day long every single day.
awesome to hear!
Does this duel sim phone allow international sims like if you are in Asia?
Unlocked phones will work overseas, but US markets MAY have slightly different antennas/bands that the phone works with. Generally it should work fine in different countries though.
I paid only $100, which is the same I paid for a crappy 720p LG budget phone six years ago. Love it so far, and it's way better and smoother performing than the 2021 Moto G Stylus I'd been using.
For $100, this phone can't be beat by much, great buy
It's 50$now😂 bought to hook Mom's up being it's so cheap. Hey how is your experience, decent any hang ups
The NFC would have been nice to have, other than that I have loved this phone for $250 unlocked. Once using the 120 refresh rate it's difficult to go back....
I agree! NFC is pretty important to me. 120hz is a big deal though.
I got a Motorola Edge 2022 with NFC, 8GB of ram, and 256GB of internal storage for $250 from Amazon.
I bought this at Best Buy over a week ago. I paid 249 plus $40 for them to set it up and transfer everything. They didn't have a case, so I had to go to Walmart for one, but it's a high quality case.
Hope you enjoy it!
Just bought a 128 Gig version NEW 2023 for 120.00. Beat that!
@AndroidDigest which one do you suggest or anyone can chime in I’m going with straight talk and deciding between the moto g power 2023 and the pixel 6a
How do I set up for video medical conference 9:23
Las Vegas how do I set up for a video conference
Does it have accelerometer sensor?
Just picked one up for a hundo. Definitely worth $100 range
For sure
My grandfather had your phone and I upgraded him to the Nord N20. He Loves the Nord n 20 but it’s older now and no longer selling
budget phones are best for me. i dont really want a phone im afraid to drop because its made of glass and costs more than my first car. ive had a motox4 for a long time and dropped it hundreds of times and it works fine, same with the samsung odyssey. plastic is great. but to each their own, the high end phones have a lot of nice features that budget tend to lack.
thanks for the review, i picked up a moto g power 2023 and am looking forward to trying it out.
Hope you enjoy it! It's a good budget phone, a lot of other good choices around this price, but it's been going on sale a lot too. So hope you like it.
@@AndroidDigest i ended up liking it so much i bought a second one. granted i am easily impressed, but it works well for my needs.
Very reasonable. I don't need a $40,000 phone ( which is what other phones might as well be for someone like me ).
If you had to pick between google 6a, moto p power or the samsung a14, which would you choose???
I meant moto g power
For sure, it's a decent phone especially with the sales.
It's weird Cuz cricket all of a sudden stopped showing this phone on thier website along with several others.... I wonder if the brick and mortar stores have them....? 🤔
I bought one of these from Spectrum for my daughter. It says it has 128 gb. Am I able to change out the micro sd card to a larger size?
You can add a micro sd card. They are like $10 on amazon. It comes with 128GB in the base it sounds like, normally doesn't come with an sd card, so you should be good without a card. Either way you can get a card cheap if you want.
@@AndroidDigest I added the card however the phone is not recognizing it. Is it possible my provider Spectrum locked it to prevent me from upgrading the storage. Or does the card need to be formatted first?
@@TimSmith-db1iu I had to format the SD card first.
What phone would you recommend for the best camera
If you're looking around this price the Pixel 6a or 7a. The 7a is on sale for Black Friday around $375. Which is a great deal. The 6a is around $200. A great camera on that too
Motorola puts phones in people's hands that have a tight budget where others don't care. If you can't afford $1000.00 you can afford these phones.
Yeah they are pretty good with budget phones.

That's one more negative. One OS update. I believe 3 years of security updates
Which phone is better and which one holds it value better, this Motorola Power or a Samsung Galaxy A34? ... Is it available in a Latin version?
They are both pretty similar, both drop value over time pretty easily, so hard to tell honestly. I'd prefer the Moto but it's pretty close.

my older G power is my favorite phone i've ever had, it cant do a crazy amount but its so reliable and took a lot of drops before cracking, one of the few phones I broke over time instead of it dying on me. 4k is a waste I got a pixle 8 pro and do not bother with 4k its a waste. 1080p is all you need unless you have a 200" screen or a movie theater and sit int he front row then 4k has some use.
I have this phone and noticed a little man head on top left screen next to the time. Do you know what this means and how do I get rid of it?
That's probably just from a notification. You can swipe down from the top and check your notifications, you can swipe them away. That's just a guess.

Just switched from iPhone 13 to moto g power 2023 and loving my experience definitely enjoy Android
Awesome to hear!
For sure! Enjoy this Moto

Yeah, on certain prepaid carriers, and that can be a good deal.
Yeah even the settings can change depending on the carrier so hard for me to give advice. Good luck on figuring it out though.
Some phones and Verizon carriers or AT&T will not let you turn off on Android. iPhone however will let you do it, for now.
I'm gonna test it out as a construction phone.. I think the fast processing will help
Can't justify paying a lot for any phone. Been very happy with the Moto G7play for my need & budget.

Can you turn off 5G cellular if signal is poor so to save on battery drain and just use 4G?
There may be a way to do it, but I wouldn't know how. Often they bury those settings, and sometimes, depending on your carrier, the settings will change in the phone itself. You may have to do some extra research on it, sorry!
My moto ace you can. Under network & internet tap mobile network then preferred network type.

You can get an XR on eBay for around $110. Your paying the used price. I'd take a step back and pick the best phone for you regardless of your insurance. If it happens to be the XR get it replaced, but going through insurance is saving you maybe $20 max

Depending on the case, but normally, yes.

Man for $100 that's a great deal!
@@dickJohnsonpeter OMG yes I use the shake to flashlight literally EVERY DAY
Why no reviews on the Motorola G Stylus 5G 2023?
Maybe one day. I've got so many devices to review 😂. I'll be reviewing the Moto Razr 2023. The Galaxy S23 FE. I'll maybe get there
@@AndroidDigest Put the Motorola Edge 2023 on your list.
I think I had bad luck with the 5g apple se3, but this phone absolutely blows it away on the connection performance, I rely on that to run business and content creating. truly great device for small business and hobbyist online.
Great to hear. Glad you enjoy it.
I just bought the moto stylus 5g 2023.
My brother has the Power.
I will see how they compare :). Gen6 snap dragon vs dimensity
Yeah that Gen 6 processor is probably really nice! I'm curious how good that stylus is
@@AndroidDigest my old Moto one ace 5g has the 750g.
The moto is way better than that lol.
it's one on Amazon for $99.88 should i get it?
That is a pretty nice deal. But everyone's situation is different so I don't want to say if you need to get it or not
I just bought one of these as a backup phone.
Pretty good as a backup phone. Pixel 8 is coming soon!
I have used it and I am very impressed y it. The performance is acc to my expectations, and Mediatek dimensity does a good work
That's what I was thinking. It definitely exceeded my expectations
Great phone, but lack of more than two years of security updates thereafter is lacking!! Stocks would skyrocket if they offered 4yrs instead of 2yrs.
I agree!
Just got it for 199 for my pops unlocked I like side fingerprint should be good for 3 years at least if he don't break it.
I just need a reliable phone with great battery life. All I do is call and check email on my phone, use a few practical apps, and maybe use GPS from time to time, so I don't care about camera performance or video quality. For $199 it's a good buy I think.
How to root? moto g power 5G (XT2311DL) please help 🙏😢
I wish moto would add wireless charging to their budget phones i feel like the tech has been around long enough that it wouldn't cost that much to add but i like motos and if you're someone who breaks their phone its a good deal
I hear you, wireless charging shouldn't cost too much to add.
We will see if motorola still has their humbleness they did back in the day
Hope you enjoy it!
Android Digest, Should I Buy Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ For Gaming And Freelancing? Because I Make Gaming Videos On UA-cam😁
It would be pretty good for that. As long as you like gaming on Android
@@AndroidDigest I Will Buy It From Amazon And From You Affiliate Link :)
Yup. No complaints with moto g power and would never spend a fortune on a "flagship". What would you get with a "flagship" versus something like this anyway? Better camera or video or wireless charging? Pffft. Whatever.
