Which makes sense! Stolas is a words person. He’s been focused on being the Goetia heir most of his life, studying, being a words person, and his text messages are very wordy as well, showing how much more comfortable he is with that sort of communication. While he might not always have the right words, like with Octavia, he always uses them as his ultimate way to get through to her. Since he’s been so isolated, I think he sort of sucks at reading body language which-according to linguists at least-actually communicates about 80% of what we’re trying to say, and we see from Loo Loo Land that he needs Octavia to spell out her fears before he understands. There's a video of the song in this episode showing the voice actors recording their parts, worth watching. Also poor Colin, best thing that could happen to him would be if he got stranded in the Pride ring and ended up at the hotel
Also Kyra many fans have mention the parallel between this ep full moon and S2 ep1 the circus. For example, the last scene was done in front of the chandelier vs their happy moment when they lying below the chandelier and Blitz chasing after Stolas through the portrait hallway vs Stolas chasing Blitz when they were kids.
There were a ton! I actually did notice a lot of parallels but the video was getting so long so I started not commenting on things towards the end /o\ But ty for pointing it out to me anyway I really do appreciate all the extra details I get from comments ❤
@@kyratries Yes. It's young. But I don't think he was older then that considering it was 25 years between him and Blitz met as children vs as adults. Stolas was definitely not older then 11 when they met. And I don't know how old he was when he got married, but I hope he wasn't yonger then 18.
I love the comment from others that the fact that Blitz even though he was "roleplaying" the fact that he went to the words "I love you" so quickly when thats not even what Stolas said, he said "I care for you and want you to stay" is telling of some of Blitz's true underlying feelings.
I don’t know if you noticed it or not,but if you go back in the video and look at the pictures in Stolas’s hallway that are all covered up. Mostly with himself being covered up and only showing Octavia. Stolas was doing the same thing Blitz did with his pictures in his apartment basically crossing himself out cause he hates himself.
I did notice! There’s actually a lot of stuff I didn’t talk about in this ep because the video was getting so long /o\ but ty for pointing it out in case I had missed it!
Gosh, I love your accurate analysis of both their issues. Very few reactors understand Blitz would 100000% prefer someone punched him in the gut then tell him "i love you". Confessing your feelings to Blitz is more terrifying than a gun being pointed at him. He'd rather it always be physical because it HURTS LESS then emotions. Physically Blitz will jump and fight anyone, but he is COMPLETELY VULNERABLE emotionally. He can't take a hit emotionally, he'll will fall apart - so he has to make sure he NEVER allows anyone the chance to hit him that way AKA "crush other peoples feelings before it gets serious". Fantastic reaction! It's so rare to find reactors that understand his perspective so well.
as a brit i must admit i was momentarily Very Confused by you referring to stolas' funky little outfit as a jumper (that's what we call sweaters, i was squinting at the screen trying to see it lmao) but also, holy shit, i Also never noticed he was wearing that??? i always assumed he was pulling a winnie the pooh and walking around in a waistcoat with no pants or something, but no, he has this weird little hybrid romper thing going on. fashion icon. also - this has been said a dozen times down here already, but your stolitz discussions are always so good. you really seem to understand these characters and their relationship, and the nuance and difficulty that comes with it, and it's really lovely to see when so many people will immediately jump to defending one over the other. they've both fucked up to some degree but are also both still deserving of sympathy and perspective, and i really appreciate you considering that! relationships are messy and complicated and to minimise that would do them both a disservice :]
I've never seen a reactor point out that the very first phone call in "Murder Family" establishes a pattern of Stolas ignoring what Blitz wants because he's caught up in his romantic imagination. Nice. "Stolas needs this to go down exactly like a romance novel" - exactly! And when Blitz responds in a way that clashes with the script, Stolas immediately shuts down and walks away.
Being completely honest, I've been saying all the EXACT same things about these two that you are and it's SO REFRESHING to find a reactor that shares my view here. This split needed to happen so badly. I still believe that they are end game but they need to look inwards and establish who they are and be honest with themselves before they can come back and enter a relationship on truly equal terms. I have hope for these two, but not yet.
It's not only that Ozzie & Blitzy already had a positive interaction, Blitzy is now overseen by the guy who would never do anything to hurt Blitzys Best Friend. When it comes to being part of the system, there is no better place than Ozzie for him. Also, now if anything comes out of the whole "you're gonna regret revealing that one Ozzie" from Mammon, we are in a situation where it feels more natural when IMP gets involved.
Yes! I was thinking about that! When I was talking about the villains being grouped it was like ‘okay so DHORKS and the cherubs are silly, Crimson and Striker are less silly but not big boss scary, so who (besides emotional constipation) is the Big Boss and a showdown between the Sins would actually be the coolest thing ever, so I am so here for Mammon coming back and IMP actually becoming more of a heroic savior force ;;;
@@kyratries Paimon said that Stolas is going to have Legions to command... My hope is that at some point, we see Stolas with a Legion of IMP Trained Imps :)
Okay but why is no one talking about the deep lore this episode dropped: What are the writers trying to tell us about Razzle and Dazzle with the Dragon Driller 5000?
I think he's ACTUALLY in his 30s, because the text on screen says that it was 25 years between when he met Blitz as a child and that party where they met again.
@@PirateQueen1720 There's a bit of time-dilation between Heaven/Hell and Earth, about ten years on Earth for every year in Heaven/Hell. So character ages would go something like this: Charlie (20s=200s), Stolas/Blitzø/Fizz (30s=300s), Luna (18=180) and Octavia (17=170)
Loved the 'pre-show' discussion; your breakdown of these episodes and characters have been some of the very best out there. Also-and I hope this doesn't come off in a way not intended-but I kind of like it better when you do these reactions by yourself as opposed to with someone else. When you've got another person 'in the booth' with you, it feels like you're occasionally commenting to see their reactions in places that, had you been alone, you'd instead be discussing it more in depth with the camera/audience. IIRC, I believe you said they've already seen the episodes before your own blind reactions here, so perhaps they're being a passive soundboard in order to not accidentally ruin anything for you.
Oh they are being a soundboard 100%, and also a fact checker if I remember something aggregiously wrong during important episodes, and someone to counter my own opinion before I put the video up! What I would LOVE during episodes would be to have a live chat or something so I can talk to people in real time but I’m a little too tiny of a channel to pull that off 😅. I always love hearing other opinions so I can moderate my own, and it’s hard when the best opinions are comments I see way after recording!
I think you really called it with Stolas's ideas of romance coming entirely from fiction, and isn't something I've seen someone call out before. It's his first relationship, and he's making a lot of first relationship mistakes, which would be ok if his first relationship wasn't with Blitzø, which is absolutely relationships on hard mode, due to all of Blitzø's trauma. On the other hand, with Blitzø's issues with commitment, the transactional aspect of the relationship was what made him comfortable with it since it let him ignore his _own_ feelings. Are there therapists in hell? 'cause there's certainly a lot of potential clients around.
It's kind of amazing just how spot on the pre-show talk was for just what ends up going down in this episode. For a moment I honestly thought it was a post-show thing edited into the beginning. I actually agree with a lot of Kyra's points,(Both these boys are a mess.) I believe the "Let's go!" is basically Blitz' trying to initiate a confrontation of some kind,(I don't think it was necessarily physical in intent.) likely because Stolas is literally walking away from the situation rather than deal with it in the moment.
1:04:02 aaand Stryker's words reached Blitz. This reminds me of the ending of Metal Gear Rising when Senator Armstrong also planted his thoughts in Raiden
Stolas and Blitz are their mid thirties. (You can do the math on the flash forward yourself back in s2e1.) So... older than you, younger than me. Personally, I reject the "everyone is the baddie" narrative (or the "one is the baddie, the other is perfect" narratives). I think the most toxic thing about Blitz/Stolas discourse is the obsession with assigning blame or fault. It's fundamentally the wrong way to approach the kinds of relationship problems. I think it comes from people who started from "which sad boi do I relate to most" and then built everything on that. Blitz has emotional damage that makes it nearly impossible for him to have an emotionally intimate relationship. If he ever wants a relationship he's going to have to deal with it. Stolas' primary emotional issue is related to self esteem. When he thinks he's being rejected, he shuts down. I don't personally think that Blitz would have been capable of responding seriously to this even given all day to do so -- he's too averse to intimacy. But even if Blitz were a little less broken, Stolas still wouldn't have been able to give him the space to process given his own insecurities. Stolas feels rejected and shuts down to protect himself. I actually think Stolas' class issues are mostly orthogonal to this. While they're something he's going to have to deal with, I don't think they're currently the heart of why Stolas and Blitz did not succeed in communicating this day. (Despite Blitz's words, Blitz's own damage is such that he would have found another reason, if the class reasons weren't there.)
I am so glad that you’re able to see Blitzø’s perspective here. After both this episode and the last one, Blitzø has received a LOT of backlash and hate online (and don’t get me wrong, he’s messed up quite a bit himself) but so many people ignore Stolas’ mistakes in this whole thing. Great reaction and analysis!!!!
32:43 His fan name is Pringles and he's an *icon* (I mean, have you seen him at "Ozzie's"?)! Actually, I've been trying to raise awareness about him lately. He's the one who's been physically abused and neglected on screen by both Stella and Stolas. Which again shows how little they think about the imps perspective. So when Stolas gets called out on his BS, I really want Pringles to play a part in it! #JusticeForPringles ✊
Stolas has whole library available to him. I know he enjoys romance media but I have a hard time believing he hasn't also read non-fiction books on relationships like whatever he'll's equivalent to the 5 love languages or the 7 levels of intimacy. Seems that he would have done some sort of reading over all the years he tried to make the relationship with Stella work for Octavia's sake. I dunno, just a thought. Btw, thanks again for all your amazing reactions. Been enjoying them a second time through as back ground accompaniment as I work my hands off trying to get a Fizz cosplay done in time for a con this coming weekend :)
In Murder Family, Stolas was envisioned differently. At that time, Stolas was meant to be an antagonist. Then they decided to change direction and he became the Stolas we all know and love, and the arrangement turns into a romance.
1st video of yours I've watched. Great complex analysis. Have some disagreements but not about to try and argue on a comment section lol. I will say though that the thing that frustrates me the most about that last scene is that evev though Stolas didn't get the exact response he wanted, he still was getting what he wanted. Blitz didn't take the crystal and run. He wanted to stay. Even when things went sideways Blitz wanted to stay and have it out. Not in a healthy way, but still he wanted to be there. Looking forward to watching the rest of your reactions from the beginning and then seeing your reaction to apology tour. Thanks for the cool content 🙂
Stolas is awesome...but he was in the wrong here, he never gave Blitzø time to process what was happening, and when he didn't get the answer he expected, he just called it over. Then again, we see that Stolas is out of his happy pills (which probably doesn't help), and as Kyra said, Stolas is primed by his fiction to want that perfect moment, because he really loves Blitzø. But Blitzø isn't wrong either, sure, Stolas doesn't look down on him, but he doesn't really care about other imps...he treats his butler imp like an object, he doesn't seem to know Moxxie and Millie's names despite how important he must know that they are to Blitzø so...yeeeah...maybe Blitzø isn't entirely wrong about him either. All in all, they are both in the wrong I think, but Stolas should have known better...we expected more from him. Anyhow, rant over! Loved the reaction!
Stolas' butler official name is Impington I believe, but the fandom calls him Pringles x) Also, I'm a bit pissed everyone says Stolas didn't give Blitz time to respond. Blitz didn't take it, that's different (also, yeah Stolas dumped everything on him but honestly he was better to just lay out everything quickly). Afterwards, yeah, Stolas wasn't willing to let time for a second response because he was already hurt (and Blitz still didn't take it because he would rather yell around). I also think Blitz wanted a yelling match, but yeah, ultimately they both messed up (tho Blitz isn't completely innocent to their whole situationship being based on sex either when you think about it x) ).
An odd observation. But i think this might be the first episode where we can see Heaven up in the sky in the Pride Ring for Helluva Boss. This series i believe intentionally avoided showing it before Hazbin Hotel premiered. Not that it's a retcon, the sky was always not aimed at or obscured when in the Pride Ring so easy enough to go back and say it was there the whole time. Also of note the adoption certificate has been changed. Now its non-letters instead of a copy paste of a random pound adootion paper and the signed name on it has been edited to clearly be "Bee" which has raised many fan theories ranging from Beelzebub signs all the hellhound adoption papers to some conspiracy level bit where Loona is actually her biological daughter.
Okay. Stolas did not make it about sex to begin with. Blitz did. Blitz was the one who made this about sex when he tried to STEAL the book, then seduced Stolas, then decided to ignore and not hear Stolas during the end of the Ozzie's episode, what Stolas just wanted to talk or cuddle or watch a movie. I'm sorry but you give Blitz WAY more leeway than you do Stolas, and you're wrong. Blitz was not buying time. The next episode has some reveals about Blitz that will recontextualize some parts of this episode.
But Stolas DID start their reunion conversation with "are you here to ravish me?" - which Blitz then took as his cue for how to distract him - and then responded REAL intensely really fast. Blitz came to steal the book; he wasn't initially intending to seduce Stolas. And we saw that intensely horny conversation where Stolas sets up their transactional arrangement for the book while Blitz is being shot at. So I can totally see why BLITZ got it stuck in his head that this was just about sex, even if that's not how Stolas meant it. And then Blitz - with his clear self esteem issues - was not picking up on the cues that it was more than that for Stolas! Just a train wreck all around...
I’m sad that the first part of this is just flaming my favorite character Edit: nvm it’s literally just constant flaming everytime he’s on screen, that sucks
Lets go means sex hes ralkimg about going back to the bedroom and continuing the night hence the "i wont let you" when hes venting about stolas or higher beings treating him like a butler imp
I dont think you were wrong about Blitz. although there is a power imbalance between the two, there is no doubt of the two who is the Dom and the Top, Blitz is asserting sexual domination over Stolas who is inexperienced and naive. although the physical ages are similar, Stolas is not that worldly and experienced. Blitz definitely took advantage of that. The main thing about Blitz that upsets me is he seldom makes it a secret he is not attracted to Stolas physically. Even as a child when told he was going to be friends with a Goetia he responds with "Ew" in the non cannon pilot Stolas is listed in his phone as a "creepy bird dick" and the way he refers to it with moxie at the water cooler was as if it was a one time hook up. Also in Full Moon ua-cam.com/users/clipUgkxiYK-v3EseemHkem3vuxXpZ18hNdOhi1C?si=_ef3J-cWHlzOMI-P Blitz says "everything you put me through!" he hates being with him so much he sees it as an ordeal he had to endure. What exactly has he had to endure? Sex? having a successful business? Making money off of his association? This line with so many of his other lines is a kind of Abuse. Even when he simply calls him Bitch when he first arrives, thats no term of endearment that is meant as derogatory. Stolas is his bitch and nothing more.

Oh yeah if no one has mentioned it yet Blitz was trying to say IM S-SORRY at the end right before Stolas portaled him out of his house
I actually did notice a lot of parallels but the video was getting so long so I started not commenting on things towards the end /o\
But ty for pointing it out to me anyway I really do appreciate all the extra details I get from comments ❤
I think Stolas is about 36. Remember, his daughter is 17
I don’t even want to imagine Stolas as a 19 yr old parent ;;
@@kyratries Yes. It's young. But I don't think he was older then that considering it was 25 years between him and Blitz met as children vs as adults. Stolas was definitely not older then 11 when they met. And I don't know how old he was when he got married, but I hope he wasn't yonger then 18.
The sheep cherub name is Keenie and voiced by Vivienne Medrano herself!
Yes! I was thinking about that! When I was talking about the villains being grouped it was like ‘okay so DHORKS and the cherubs are silly, Crimson and Striker are less silly but not big boss scary, so who (besides emotional constipation) is the Big Boss and a showdown between the Sins would actually be the coolest thing ever, so I am so here for Mammon coming back and IMP actually becoming more of a heroic savior force ;;;
Stolas is in his mid-late "30s," which, based on Charlie, would put him in his mid-late 300s.
Do imps also live that long then? Since they were kiddos together and seem to have aged at the same rate? 😮
@@kyratries They would have to, otherwise it wouldn't make sense... 🤔
32:51 oh yeah people call him Pringles!
37:31 her name is Keenie
I CANT WAIT DOR YOU TO WATCH APOLOGY TOUR
You’re analysis is really great, thank you!
I love how fast you are at pumping out reactions! Always love your insight on the episodes
LOVED YOUR REACTION! So few people see both sides- even less see Blitz's side for some reason.
1:04:02 aaand Stryker's words reached Blitz. This reminds me of the ending of Metal Gear Rising when Senator Armstrong also planted his thoughts in Raiden
Technically he didn't even like the circus much.
Loved this
Stolas is awesome...but he was in the wrong here, he never gave Blitzø time to process what was happening, and when he didn't get the answer he expected, he just called it over.
Stolas' butler official name is Impington I believe, but the fandom calls him Pringles x)
Also, I'm a bit pissed everyone says Stolas didn't give Blitz time to respond.
56:12 speaking of Gravity Falls, is that Shmebulock ?
He even makes a Gnom sound when thrown away.
just shove Shmebulock anywhere I guess 😂
35:32 that's just stolas being very, very autistic coded lol. part of why I find him so relatable
1:06:09 that fucking hurt but it's such an accurate representation of Blitzø's mindset
Awww your bunny is adoreble
So what do we learn? Love aint gonna solve your issues friends please go to therapy xD
I keep saying this, "the Hazbin Hotel couples and the Helluva Boss couples need to go to a therapist. "
It doesn't help that Charlie seems to be the one closest thing Hell has to a therapist. Well, maybe also Rosie.
I always say it: all couples need couples' counseling.
Collin x Loona is my crackpot ship that I absolutely adore for no reason
A long video! :0
I'm excited to hear all your thoughts on this one
The first sex shop keeper was Moxxies voice actor, u can even hear it a lil if u think about it
I’m sad that the first part of this is just flaming my favorite character
Edit: nvm it’s literally just constant flaming everytime he’s on screen, that sucks
Reaction starts 24:45
Stop proyecting your persona into Blitzoooo . He’s not worthy!
Wild misinterpretation of the ending with blitzø
Cool! What are your thoughts? :D
Lets go means sex hes ralkimg about going back to the bedroom and continuing the night hence the "i wont let you" when hes venting about stolas or higher beings treating him like a butler imp
@@Alex-kq1sv okay, that’s a take I haven’t seen! Thanks!
Stolas is his bitch and nothing more.
how did you possibly turn a 25ish minute video into and hour 20... please tell me its not a pause ever 5 seconds fest again
