The algoritim works in mysterious ways. Haha I'm glad you got a laugh out of it. I've actually been "speedrunning" this game for over a year now. Speedrun dot com boards still have a handful of active players.
I can't speak for Shift 2 beyond the "tutorial" which is pure pain. but Shift 1 is... kinda.. fun I guess. It's fun, it's fine, the issue is the cpu drivers logic is absolutely trash and most of the difficulty of the game is no getting yeeted by them. Definitely one of those games where the only challenge is getting into 1st place and after that you smoke the cpu by a mile. If you meant in a "speedrunning" fashion then I would go shift 2 at least to start, it has a pretty empty board, Shift 1 has a reasonable amount of competition and would likely become demoralizing before you got good enough to put down a nice time... unless your using wheel.. in which case I would guess you should be able to sweep the board within a couple months. Handling models are notoriously... wonky.. but if you can get past that and don't mind slow af cpu drivers who do not care that you are right next to them going 200+kph on a straight on the last lap... then yeah It's worth a play. Tbh I have never finished Shift 1... made it to the last tier and was so po at that point that I just never played the "campaign" again.
Dude what xD randomly dropping video from 2009 game and popping on my front page xD
Drifting with Zonda entire track on most "simulation" like nfs xD
