I agree with pretty much everything you said. The only thing I have to say that is different is that I think HoT is good for New Japan. Anything that can get me involved at 3-4am to shout at my TV screen for people to get beat in a pro wrestling match is a good thing, imo. Take last year for example after Naito won the G1 and he had to defend it against EVIL. So many people thought EVIL was going to win, and they were all angrily yelling at the HoT people to stop interfering. And then once LIJ showed up to even the odds, people were losing their f'n minds and cheering like crazy and I think when Naito beat him it was one of the biggest reactions of the year. If HoT wasn't has hated as they are it wouldn't have been as big a moment, imo.
Love the breakdown! My thinking on Narita is NJPW is setting him up to be THE top heel of the promotions’ future, very much in the vein of Masahiro Chono, Togi Makabe & Minoru Suzuki; I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes over HOT next year, and reforms it to his liking. Umino & Tsuji both really feel like the next “Big Two”, taking after Okada & Naito (and Tanahashi & Nakamura before); that being said, Umino does feel like he has the front office’s support, so he may be the one they make “Ace”. Would love to hear your thoughts about other young guys like Ryohei Oiwa and Kosei Fujita.
I agree with the order you listed err1...the vid bout NJPW strong young lions would be good...future Yota Tsuji (or Shota Umino) vs Gabe Kidd..bahh!..cheers!🎉
