MY GS350 makes some noise, even coasting in N. Either the cheap tires or the front bearing. Have to jack it up but sometimes the bearing wont show signs without load.
Looks like a piece of cake next to an explorer. The later RWD based explorers are a nightmare. The CV has to come out. The 06 I worked on had crazy locktite on the bolts.
Do you need to remove the wheel speed sensor before removing the hub? Because I saw in the official maintenance manual, remove the sensor first. （IS250 AWD）
hi your installation went pretty smooth for the most part, I just did mine and one issue I encountered was the placement of new wheel hub assembly onto the axle splines, mine only went on about 75% of the way before it was difficult to push in all the way, I had tread to grab on to and tightened it in that way, but from your video it looked like yours just went in perfectly and flawlessly, I wonder if my axle splines are warped?, it was also very difficult to remove the old wheel hub assembly also, I had to use a slide hammer (the way you used it) and also in reverse where I pushed in the stick to push the axle splines off the hub assembly. I wonder what the issue was, wish mine went as smooth as yours!
I find corrosion often builds up around the outside of the wheel bearing. Heat and a slide hammer usually get it off, air hammers are also nice if there still being a pain. Helps to hit it with a wire wheel once its out, and some anti seize to stop corrosion in the future
Does the wheel bearing have anything to do with when u hit the brakes it vibrates shakes in the front driver side I even tho I bought 2 new rotors thinking it was warped ???
What about the torque Specs on the nut that goes onto the axle? If I’m not mistaken it’s 217ft-lb But I noticed you just tighten it up with the 1/2” impact gun.
Yes that’s correct , once everything was back together (not seen in the video) I removed the rim Center cap and torqued the axle nut to the proper specs with the vehicle weight back down on the suspension.
So when you replace the entire wheel hub bearing assy with a new one, do you need a OBD Scanner to remove the codes, because mine are still on, on the Lexus IS250 rear wheel drive
It depends on whether you changed the ABS wheel speed sensor at the same time , the wheel hub does NOT include the wheel speed sensor. What is the problem that you are trying to reslove ?
Grind and Garage I’m actually kinda confused because there is a sensor in the center of the wheel bearing assembly on the front drivers side. I’m not sure if it’s a wheel sensor or abs sensor, all I know is that there is a sensor built in the center of the wheel bearing. My unfortunate situation is that I choose a cheap wheel bearing made by WJB, and I have a defective sensor which is causing my ABS/Stability control lights to stay on. I learned from my lesson, and now I have to take to a shop to have it replaced at a whooping $477.00 dollars..I was just tryna save money, but ironically I’m going to have to spend more..never again
@@kingdrosive4102 So the way it works is there is a TONE ring inside the wheel bearing that is basically just a magnetic ring that the ABS sensor gets its signal feed from. do you have a link to the wheel bearing you bought ?

Grind and Garage not exactly, it was purchased from amazon, the seller was WJB who manufactures the wheel bearing..I think if you just look up WJB wheel bearing for 08 IS250, it should immediately pop up.. oh and I had no idea about the magnetic ring..thanks for info
I have an 09 is250 awd. The mechanic shop charged me 800 dollars to replace the wheel hub assembly. Is this a normal quote? And how many hours does it take?
I didn’t no , sometimes they like to break when removing. Especially because I did this job in the winter it was fragile and didn’t want to take the chance. It is a good idea to remove it to prevent damage if possible though.
My car has started making like a clicking sound coming from the passenger rear tire I think usually only hear it when you accelerate. It seems to stop clicking once I let off the gas it doesn't do it all the time but it's happening more often in the last few days. If I turn the corner without pressing on the gas it doesn't click so I have no idea I would pay you to maybe help me diagnose this issue
did you ever figure this out? It sounds like your lugnuts may be loose and clinking, or maybe your suspension is bad, idk. Doesn't seem like a wheel bearing if its clicking.

It’s possible , I would look at your steering/suspension related components. Such as tie rods inner and outer to start.

217ft/lbs is exactly the torque you will need though.
Is it possible for it to seize inside to the Axle? Mine is pulling everything out when I pull the hub out
Be sure to remove the axle bolt , then tap the axle out of the hub before removing the hub bolts.

Josh Henry I would say no , that’s a very high quote in my opinion. The job should take no longer than 1-1.5hrs for a competent mechanic.
