I always felt like if Netflix wanted to truly be innovative and bring something new to the table, they could have the WT sexist against males, citing Kuruk's "failure" to claim men lacked the spirituality necessary to be a proper waterbender. Make Haru a waterbender here and conflate Pakku with Tyro and Katara teaches them (and Aang, who's excluded from learning waterbending due to his gebder and Kuruk's legacy).
Nah that's not really a good change, that just seems like a change just for the sake of being different to the original. The reason why this conflict works is because in most major cultures historically women were put down and forced to occupy only a specific set of roles in an otherwise male-dominated society, especially relevant because this is an American cartoon after all, so it's more relatable to the audience compared to the inverse case. Plus you already had the previous set up of Sokka's sexism towards women and both him and Katara having to take on the gendered roles of their respective parents in their absence, Katara took on the role of their mother and Sokka emulated his father.
@@Dell-ol6hb I was just suggesting it TO be different, not to mention in-world it isn't explained why the WT is sexist while other nations don't seem to have the same limitations on women. At least with the sexism against males, you could usr Kuruk's backstory as a catalyst (which wasn't fully revealed until Kyoshi's novel after the og show anyway).
Rather than remaking what many see as an iconic series, you may as well be distinct than retelling the same thing.
Ok im gonna go out on a limb and say it, this probably has the most unlikable bunch of reactors I've seen in these kinds of mashups...or at least 75% of them 😂 Don't get me wrong I still enjoy the videos nonetheless but man are they annoying, especially the women like those two laughing hyenas in the top corner, that wild boar with a blue shirt from reel rejects who's not even paying attention/taking the show seriously and that harridan Natalie Gold 😆
