I found this on IMDb: Despite receiving an official English title (Godzilla Resurgence), the movie is nonetheless released in the United States under its original Japanese title (Shin Godzilla) at Toho's request. A possible explanation for this is that they want to avoid confusion with the movie Independence Day: Resurgence (2016). "Godzilla Resurgence" is kept as a title for general international promotion, however other territories (for example Germany) also released the film under its original Japanese title.

I just bought this piece. It was so expensive that after I hit buy now it felt like Mike Tyon punched me in the chest, but this really seems to be the ultimate representation.
Damn you're a cool dude to watch for these Godzilla videos. Love your style 👍I'll be doing lots of Shin Godzilla video soon so come check me out if you get a minute.

So I don't necessarily think you guys are saying this shrinkage resin into vinyl thing is true that's just me.

Always informative, entertaining and a pleasure to watch! Thanks for another terrific review! This Shin Godzilla is truly gorgeous! X-Plus should be sponsoring both you and Rich Eso for providing such a fabulous advertising resource to the public.

I think Shin Godzilla made the original message of Godzilla relevant again too. The imagery directly lifted from the Fukushima disaster in the wake of Godzilla's attack makes the threat seem more real and, like '54 and '84 hammers home the message that Godzilla isn't just a monster, he's a metaphor for the disastrous nuclear capabilities of mankind that Japan has had a great deal of experience in.
The American films however, I feel are good a portraying the epic scope of what I saw in my minds eye as I watched the tokusatsu effects of the earlier films. As you get older, you see the wires, the suits tearing and ripping, the stock footage, the way they stopped using city destruction and had the monsters fight in empty countryside locations. Or, the Heisei era's reliance on beam effects as the suit's became more elaborate but rigid. The epic scale of the monsters can be made felt with the newer Hollywood films and the CGI spectacle they offer.
    Good review as per!

Awesome review and commentary Leslie. I enjoy these longer videos, especially the Shin Godzilla ones. Super cool figure, so stunning. Congrats on adding it to your collection when you did. As a new collector, trying to get one of these on Ebay is challenging when they're so expensive. Nevertheless, your Shin collection is my dream and it was wonderful to see all of them together.

So I assumed the yuji Sakai and the favorite sculptor lines came out around 2012 or 2013 you guys have been saying those lines have issues with all that shrinkage, loss of details and loss of height but you guys don't say anything about the monster maker 28 back in 2010 or 2012 when X plus first came out with that Godzilla 1968 30cm from monster maker 28 about him losing detail, loss of height and loss of shrinkage even tho that Godzilla 1968 30cm came out before any favorite sculptor line or yuji Sakai line so WHY! why don't you guys mention that comparison of the X plus Godzilla 1968 30cm from 2012 or 2010 and compare to all the favorite sculptor line and yuji Sakai line today?

Hi Leslie! Another great video review! About the title Godzilla Resurgence....I believe Toho officially dropped that title for the American Market in favor of the original Japanese title Shin Godzilla. I have the American release of the Blu-Ray/DVD of this movie and it's called Shin Godzilla. If I can find more info on it I will forward it to you.
I think Yuji Sakai really outdone himself with this figure!! If you don't want the Gigantic Shin the Sakai is the one to own! Looking forward to the 25cm 65 and the 67 30cm!

Never say never I'm sure you'll be getting the Shin Godzilla atomic breath 30cm Yuji Sakai Version! And I don't neccersary believe in what you and rich eso say about resin into vinyl there shrinkage! Because the 30cm Godzilla 1968 from X Plus was originally from monster maker 28 and monster maker 28 resin kit came out in 2007 and from what I remembered you've got your Godzilla 1968 X plus 30cm in 2013 so I assume X plus favorite sculptor line has not been doing favorite sculptors line since around 2007 pretty sure the favorite sculptor line came out around 2010 or 2012, not 2007 and if that's the case the Godzilla 1968 from monster maker 28 would be first to be release as the first vinyl that is perfect because when you've got yours the X plus Godzilla 1968 from monster maker 28 the figure was perfect with no shrinkage, no sloppy teeth and no loss of details on the body! That figure was the perfect 30 cm in height judging your and other collectors review of this X plus Godzilla 1968 from monster maker 28 30cm.

I definitely feel like Godzilla Resurgence was a political satire underneath a monster film. The parallels in Japan's government stalling/slow moving and ResurgenceGoji evolving quickly and becoming more powerful was something I only appreciated later on. It definitely felt like it was a big call back to '54 to me too, and between the political commentary and that big reset to a single monster movie(no fight), its no wonder Japan are so proud and happy with it. Having said that, maybe they blew the budget on his scenes and the slow government/political scenes were just to push the story cheaply and we're looking into it too much!
I enjoyed seeing your love for 91 come out too haha, and that was a nice call out to Gojira851, I was a bit sad to see the news.
As always, fantastic video man. I tried, but calling him resurgence godzilla is just too weird.

Hoping for a Sakai 84 at some point. Seriously thought that Sakai 91 is spectacular. It looks exactly like the suit. Honestly I've haven't seen G14 since I initially saw it in theaters nor do I own it. Though to be perfectly honest Shin owes a lot to the 1954 original. It's the closest we'll probably ever get to an actual remake.

Good review as always. This is definitely the best Shin Godzilla that X-Plus has released to date. I know a lot of people prefer the gigantic, but the pose never grabbed my attention. I went Ric on this and I prefer it over the standard. In regards to the tip of the tail I believe it has all of the detail that the standard has. All in all this is another great release from X-Plus and Yuji Sakai.

Shin Godzilla itself wasn't that bad a movie, but I don't like the design that much or how he acted in the film. I want to see Godzilla purposely smashing buildings, tripping and falling into them or inadvertently knocking them down with his tail, not standing around like a zombie that just smoked some weed. The best part was his beam attack coming from his dorsal plates and tail. That was a pleasant surprise but I have to subtract points because the way his bottom jaw opened wasn't original. And looked like they copied it from the reapers in Blade 2 or The Predator.
