I love how because Rose has already humbled Ed he doesn't interrupt her or call her a liar after she comes with receipts. As soon as Liz confronts him, he gets demeaning again. I think Liz would be cool with being an actual doormat if she could stay with Ed at this point.
Liz already is a doormat for Ed, in my opinion. He has no respect for Liz, but he does for Rose because she called him out. He knows he can’t bs her anymore.

I feel anyone who says they don't/never lie is automatically a liar, everyone lies rather they mean too or not it's human nature 🤷 that being said a normal person will admit it & say "ya sometimes i lie & im sorry for that" or something to that effect they try to make up for it & show they are truly sorry, a narcissistic will always say "I never lie" while continuing to lie even if there's proof of their lie! & do anything they can to make themselves the victim it's held true my entire life but that's just my experience idk about anyone else lol
Edit; also idk if anyone else has seen this but every narcissist I've ever met/seen has always said "I didn't lie I just don't remember" or constantly say they have a bad memory when it comes to them being manipulative just like ED would like to know if anyone else has seen that?
@@nekoabernathy9831 I entirely agree with you. Lying happens, but it's important to admit and apologize. A few months back I found out my partner had lied about their history with someone to try and save my feelings, and I almost ended the relationship on the spot. My partner did the right thing and not only apologized, but has been rebuilding our trust by going above and beyond with consistent honesty. That's what you do for someone you love. Sometimes we lie with good intentions, sometimes we lie to protect ourselves or our friends, what's important is taking responsibility and making it up to someone when they get hurt as a result. Playing the victim like Ed always does is a very immature and selfish response.
I grew up with an abusive diagnosed narcissist stepdad and Ed reminds me a lot of my stepdad. especially Ed's completely unfair standards, like getting mad at Liz when he thought she had been with a woman while they were broken up and accusing her based off of a normal platonic interaction, yet using "we might have been broken up" as an excuse for him talking to Rose. It becomes increasingly clear that no matter what Liz does, Ed is always going to find a way to play the victim and blame her. I hope Liz will one day realize that Ed is emotionally abusing her, and I hope she will put her and her child first and get out of that relationship. It's very sad to watch.
As a fellow insecure and jealous person, Ed needs to confront those parts of them and deal with those problems healthily. Being insecure or jealous doesn't make someone a bad person, but being controlling, abusive, and playing victim when he hurts the people he loves does. I hope healing happens for both of them. I also hope Liz doesn't feel like she has to stick around or be the reason for his healing like my mom did with my stepdad. Healing from insecurity and jealousy is really only going to happen when Ed decides to take responsibility and put in the work.

@@hades3830 I'm sorry that happened but I'm so glad ur partner has done their best to make it right, admitting our mistakes & trying to make things better is the most mature way to handle a real meaningful relationship. We are only human & make mistakes rather it's intentional or not & that's completely ok no one's perfect, it's how we handle whatever mistakes we make that help us grow as a person.
My parents don't really have the healthiest relationship they try their best but sometimes my dad let's his pride & ego get the best of him & both my parents have issues with expressing their feelings without taking it as a personal attack. I've talked a lot about it with my boyfriend & we've decided that's not what we want in our relationship, those behaviours really only hurt each other & it's not necessary, I've always told him it's perfectly ok to express ones issues in a relationship & it's not a personal attack it's how we learn and grow especially because sometimes a person isn't even aware they are doing the behavior lol I don't want him to ever feel like he can't tell me when something is bothering him, if you love someone you want to be the best version of yourself & do what it takes to insure both partners feel loved, understood, & safe.
I can see how little ED cares about Liz feeling loved & safe or he wouldn't attack her about every little thing she does or cover up his mistakes by blaming her for his own actions. Narcissists don't have the ability to see their faults & are so blinded by their own needs & wants that they think anyone who tries to bring up an issue or fault is completely against them, doesn't love them, or thinks the worst of them. What's worst is they are so self absorbed that they don't care about anyone else's needs. Lots of people say it's liz's fault for not leaving but of all people we both know how hard it can be to leave a narcissist or to leave when u feel so broken (my grandma was a narcissist) I really think Liz feels like she deserves the abuse or she's so scared of being abandoned that she can't bring herself to leave because she thinks no one will ever love her, she's convinced herself this IS love & it's normal. I really hope she can learn to love herself and walk away no one deserves to be abused like that, I can only hope her child is never around to see her mom being treated like that :\
But no problem on the rant lol I actually enjoy having conversations like this & seeing what other people think especially cuz I'm so busy all the time I can't get out much 😅 wishing you & your partner all the best, a relationship takes work but I can tell you guys care a lot about each other it seems u two are willing to work on ur relationship & do ur best to fix any issues I'm still young but I think that's a very important part in a good relationship lol
