9 years... It's so stupid. They were friends for so long, for better and for worse... and "life's happened"?!. Really lazy writing or writers knew nothing about Mac and Harm life and story in JAG. I still love M&H. Writers could have made their comeback so much better :(
If they are going by Jag time line, Harm and Sturgis should be three star admirals by now. Mac should either be retired or full Colonel by now. Coates should be a Master Chief or maybe even a CWO 2. Since Budd is a Captain and the Judge Advocate Genereal now according to NCIS sooooo begs the question did time only progress a few years or just lazy writers to keep up with old story lines

@mizzmolly The writers let everyone down. Harm should be at least a two star or a three star admiral possibly even retired. Mac should have been atleast a Major General or Brigadier general

I don't think anyone should get their hopes up. Harm and Mac won't get together. There is absolutely no reason now why they should.
Probably you will be right. I also cannot see how you could undo 9 years of seperate life in just one personal meeting. The question is why did they make up the story this way. They could easily be in the same position and be together. The writers for sure know what the fans of JAG were expecting. And I don´t think most of these fans wanted them seperated. They make a lot of promotion with the JAG reunion. I expect something afterwards.
What I really cannot imagine is the reason for their seperation. It is not his wish to go back into the fight or because life got complicated. It must be something different. What I see is a MAC visibly still very much in love with him and nervous to meet HARM. If I look in his face I see a lot of sadness, distance and an attempt to forget her (it didn´t work, but does it ever). I mean he promised her to never abandon her and then he does. I would also assume that the seperation was forced from her side, it was not on common ground. Look back at the look of HARM in the last episode of season 10 when Callen and Hanna moved away and he was forced to speak alone with her (the difficult situation). The look was "hey you cannot leave me alone with her". Why was he so afraid of her ? This guy is responsible for a few thousand men on that carrier and is afraid of a woman ?

Do you really believe that ? This is not enduring. The people that just watch because of the JAG reunion will not watch NCIS LA afterwards. They did not until now and won´t do afterwards. I think they already look beyond NCIS LA. IT is now in the 11 season and was renewed by CBS late this year. That is also the reason why they built up the story the way they did. If they only wanted the audience of former JAG viewer (and most of them did not want or expect the story they tell us) they could have built up the story with them together (probably in the same position). They choose to keep it open. I doubt that we will see a closure in kind of HARM and MAC together. You cannot undo 9 years of seperate life and not communicating (i think they had no contact at all but were watching each others promotion). This is NCIS LA and not the Harm and Mac lovestory. They only have 45 minutes to resolve the whole case. I do not hope they will once again give us the last 3 minutes for that "love is all around and kisses etc.".
Does he still love her. I am not quite sure. There are feelings but in my opinion more of regret and sadness that things did not work out the way he or they wanted. I see the same sadness, regret and disbelief like at the airport in Sydney and in that "never scene" in Paraquay. How often in life do you go that way until you finally have enough. And if you really love someone you might take some time out because of "life got complicated"but never 9 years. People change a lot in 9 years.
I find the scene with MAC and FATMA alone in the aircraft quite amusing. The look when FATMA asked what happend and MAC answered "life got complicated". A look of disbelief. Like she wanted to say. You two loved each other in a way that you decided to get engaged and get married and life got complicated. You don´t really mean that do you.
Yeahhh, I'm not holding my breath. Blame Shane Brennan and Scott Gimmell for f--king up Harm and Mac's engagement story line from 2005. I don't think that had been Donald Bellisario's intention. The so-called Harm and Mac reunion was bullcrap from the beginning. i should know, having watched the final two episodes of the last season. So all I can say to Shane and Scott is, thanks a damn hell of a lot for nothing.

Thomas we should not give up on it so easily. I mean if they were together, what would we have to discuss about. I mean the whole discussion here and on other boards is around the fact that they are not together. The producers got the attention they wanted.
Gemill was one of the good writers at JAG. Still love that "feed your ass to the craps " line. We should not forget that he was one of the writers that made them shippers. I don´t think that he forgot that.
I think that CBS is really testing the waters for some kind of JAG reboot. You need a storyline to come into this. I think on the discussion that evolves on something you can see how much audience is still there for something like that. On the fact that there was a lot of discussion you can see that there is still a audience for that. That is what they wanted to see. My opinion.

As far as I'm concerned I'm not a big fan of the whole Jag storyline stuff going on in NCIS LOS ANGELES its been kind of boring I'd like to just get back to the normal NCIS LOS ANGELES storylines. But that's just me & my opinions iv just never been a huge fan of Jag .
Well you only have to deal with it for like 2 more episodes. Even as a huge JAG fan, I'm not a fan of the Harm/Mac storyline. :(
Poor storyline of Harm and Mac, they could have done much better. It would f.e. been easy to make it that they both did their jobs and be married to. Missed opportunity
