If you are still in NYC- little tip from a local- B & H Camera on 9th & 33rd puts out a ton of free camera stuff every evening when they close- it's a dumpster at a side door on the side road of the store, not the main road- They buy and sell used goods as well as new, and this is how they get rid of excess. Its a gold mine. :)
yep GAMESTOP did the same thing for years i would hit up every gamestop every night in my area at one time we had like 10 games stops in a 30 mile radius id find posters, games Complete , just the case or the case and manual, Game Guides, even Toys
The advice from 16:00 to 18:00 of the video should be played on an infinite loop. Too many people go into the comments under videos of resellers complaining about how they can’t find the same brands/items instead of picking up on the patterns in their own areas.
OR networking like tech states his biggest regret is not doing that a lot sooner in his ebay journey! if you cant find something in your area network with people online find out what they sell see if they can find what you sell if they can you put a box together for them and vise versa back in the day it use to be called Trading lol
6:47 AKA Diversification its why i tell everyone if you make Diversification the center of your business from where you source, where you sell , what you sell, price points at what you sell at by doing this and letting diversification be the center of your business the captain of your ship it will never ever let you down or steer you astray!
My son is attending the Fashion Institute there in Manhattan. I shared your video with him! I’m sure he will be checking out all of the thrift stores now!! ❤ he’s been to a few but nothing like what you’ve found! I’m excited to hear what he has to say about your thrifting!!
Thrifting in our area (New York/Tri-State) is great, as long as the price is right. Alot of those brands have their flagship stores in the city, so it's easier to find. For example, I can never NOT find Polo or Ralph Lauren, Madewell, Nike, and certain other brands in the thrift or at yard sales. It always just comes down to price. Great video, Tech. Thanks alot!
Former NYer, Housing Works used have lower prices about 10 years ago when I lived in NYC. Nonetheless, they have a small selection of great stuff there still. But it's good for research for resellers. In 2013 the famous artist Banksy donated a painting to that Housing Works location you were at, someone bought for about $20 and sold it at auction for $600,000 a few weeks later. Also since there's so many people moving in and out of the city a lot of people toss out so much valiable stuff in NYC. I've found amazing things on the curb during garbage pickup day including a set of $400 KRK speakers and a Dyson vaccum near NYU (walking around Columbia University or NYU during the end of the school year/ moving out day for the dorms can land you some incredible things) Gotta love New York.
100% trash route has to be on the list of sourcing! as the saying goes someone else's trash is someone else treasure its been true since that saying was born!
Thanks for showing us different aspects of reselling. I usually don't post content on UA-cam. Put I like to show my appreciation for the job you are doing and the difference you are making in resellers life.thanks again, and the most important thing as you say is peace and be great. 🙏
Excellent. I lived in NYC in the 90"s . Great memories. There used to be many street venders on Sundays in the park behind New York University. I do not know if that still is a thing? Also have you thought of taking the subway into Queens? We used to find all types of great deals in the outer Burroughs
That goodwill you were in on 14th street is one of my favorite the bread and butter stuff is too high but I have purchased great designer items for 15-50 dollars and have made 100s the goodwill on 8th street between 5th and 6th ave is small but even better!
Former Brooklynite who moved across the bridge. I've gone up to the city for sourcing days. Last time I was in Goodwill had gotten ridiculously greedy. I'll have to keep an eye out for street vendors - I've never spotted clothing ones.
15:13 yeah that is crazy how the goodwill's in NYC a very High cost of living Area are the same prices down here in FLA were a lot of the places besides the big cities like (miami, Tampa and Orlando) are lower cost of living then NYC way lower yet same goodwill prices you know something is wrong with that company
@@DrewM86 I agree it should be cheaper since they get it free (but that is not how GW thinks its not how SA thinks either now (they use to be way better with there pricing compared to GW but over the last 5-10 yeas the SA has gotten out of hand with there pricing as well) but they have to make there millions some how you just have to catch them slipping and you can ALWAYS do that 100% Fact

Tech! Great Video and got some new brands jotted down. Here is the weekly public service announcement: Best pizza in NYC: Bleeker Street Pizza, the Nonna Maria slice. No advertisement here, I'm just a member of y our group living in Texas :)
That $500 jacket is wild. Sellers are super on the ball over here now (UK), thrift store staff and flea market sellers will quote eBay and Amazon prices at me, the prices go up and up and competition is fierce. Are US vendors just not even trying or what? (I wish ours were that lax!) I feel like the economy at the minute has something to do with it.
Great insight. But anytime I even consider dropping a few hours to go hunting in NYC in the back of my mind I am wondering if the stuff has been snatched.
I don't know what stores he's going to that are just raining lulu and Patagonia, I might like find one piece of theirs every like 7 entire stores I go to. As someone who lives on the east coast, I do find a lot of LL Bean and vineyard vines, but it is often known by the thrift stores and super up priced since they also know it. LL bean and Vineyard vines are often not that amazing to sell anyways. I recently found like a vineyard vines hoodie for like $16 at a thrift store but the comps are like $33 with a very mid sell through on it, not really worth picking up that time.

Digital overlord thanks you sir
Do you care about views on your store - especially if they halve or have dropped alot recently? Or is it just sell through and selling items
I don't care about views. I've sold more items than I can keep track of that have had 0 views. So riddle me that
👍

Hey!
What sell through percentage is your minimum?
I've had different iterations in my business. One point in time it was 90 days, at another point in time it was 180 days.
But I've always been able to build the best listings I possibly could and out perform the sell through ebay has shown for the market as a whole. A lot of the people selling on ebay are not competition, they are civilians or people who don't know what they are doing
@ so you’re not looking a particular percentage for your sell through? You look at days it will take to sell?
The good stuff never makes the racks.
I've only sold and made millions of dollars thrifting. The stuff is good enough for me. And for the best stuff I hit the flea market every weekend.
Great video!!!
I am from NY❤
Living in KY now:)
